[GUIDE][MOD]Swype Themes - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I figured this out by playing around. If you are running the original version of Swype (the one that is preloaded on your device, not the Play Store version), you can change the theme of the keyboard to some of the ones that are in the Play Store version.
1. You must be rooted.
2. Not all themes work, but it also depends on what version of Swype your device has pre-installed.
3. I'm not responsible if you render your device unusable.
Ok..
Using a file explorer (I prefer ES) navigate to /data/data/com.nuance.swype.input...
Once there, go into shared_prefs.
Then go to com.nuance.swype.input_preferences.xml
Then once u open it as a text file, scroll down until you see "swype.input"<night> (it's about 10-12 lines from the bottom.)
If you replace the text with that says night to cloud, or midnight, or boston you will get those themes that are in the Play Store version of Swype.
More if the themes may work. Those are the only three I have gotten to work. Below is a screen shot of the cloud theme.

My favorite browser, no longer supported, Miren 1.2

It does not support copying text from a webpage like the newest Miui version, but that won't run on blur.
Edit here are the key settings for a forum browser that puts the XDA app to shame as well as many others.
Note: for attachment uploading choose the "manage attachments" under the text window not the paper clip dropdown. Just remember to close the blank popup, uploading works with ES file, upload files then hit the back button and preview changes to see the attachments shown properly.
NB: the above settings are for browsing forums. To post/edit just double tap to turn panoramic mode off which zooms very close then the editing tools work well.
I use Smart Keyboard Pro BTW.
Op updated to show best settings for forum use.

Black and Blue Themed Google Play Store 3.5.15

For those who want a little color in their market, here is a black and blue themed Google play market. This is not my original work, all credit goes to B-boy. All I did was take his themed market and re-package it for use with the galaxy tab.
Flash in CWM as you would with any zip. Make sure you save your original copy of vending.apk somewhere else just in case or make a nandroid back up before flashing, enjoy!
Remember Google Play will now be renamed to Black Market Store!
Hit thanks if you like it please!

Undo Options
There is no one click method to get rid of the applied Zcolors without removing any other modifications you have made in the hybrid properties, this is a limitation of the Hybrid Engine. There are three ways I can think of off of the top of my head to revert these colors:
1. Go to Settings > Hybrid Properties > Apps, then click on the app you want to revert to stock, then click the reset icon (circle arrow with a dot in the middle). Repeat for each app.
OR
2. Using a file explorer, go to /system/etc/paranoid/ and open properties.conf. under ##SYSTEM PREFERENCES you will see a bunch of entries like "com.facebook.katana.colors="FFCBD2DF|B2FFFFFF|FFF FFFFF|FF5975B0|FFFFFFFF". Delete the lines for the apps you don't want the coloring on.
OR
3. Go to Settings > Hybrid Properties > Tools > Reset Properties. This will get rid of all Zcolors and any other modifications you have made to per app colors/dpi. If that doesn't bother you, then this will be the quickest easiest route.
Also, If after doing that, you want the Zcolor option to go away, you can go to /system/etc/paranoid/preferences/ and delete Z_Colors.xml. All my flashable file does is drop that XML in the right folder and set permissions correctly for it.
How would I go about flashing this? Sorry just pops up a box with text in it. n00b here. .xml file confuses me

Re: [PA Colors] [2013-02-22] Z_colors
This is cool, thanks. Somewhere in the official PA rom, there is an xml called colors.xml that sets colors for a lot of popular apps like imdb but I have temporarily misplaced it.
Check my sig on the Web version of xda, there's a link to my PA properties. I pretty much found the tablet mode settings for about 20± apps with the right dpi / px for the rz. Give it a try!

That file is /system/etc/paranoid/preferences/0_colors.xml, and mine is meant to be complimentary to it. I used that file to figure out how to write mine.
Honestly, I don't use any of the dpi or layout settings in Hybrid properties, I've messed with it, but I always come back to wanting the default layout and size. If I get a chance, I'll give it a whirl though, maybe you found the magic settings that I haven't yet.
You could have all those settings add to someone's current setup, without overwriting all of their othercurrent settings, by putting them in an xml like I did. Just look in /system/etc/paranoid/preferences/, the xmls in there are what I used to write mine and the syntax is pretty easy (for the most part).
Re: [PA Colors] [2013-02-22] Z_colors
Definitely check out my PA settings. My faves in tablet mode are the Google Play apps (new media browsing visual effects), Netflix, Hulu, IMDB.
Thanks for the xml info, Neo is preparing TRON 2 and it would be great to bake in some optional presets and colors for ppl to try out.

Themer, no themes and installed ones keep flashing

Sorry for the vague title, no themes are available for Themer for connectivity issues on wireless, no firewall no restrictions and some zip installed themes keep flashing, like disappears completely and appears again, almost 7 - 10 times under a minute. Please help.
Themer is dead, so there really are no fixes to it's issues. All that you can do is search for the actual file of a theme you want, download it, place it in the correct section of your phone, then in themer in the themes section under categories click import. No pictures will show up while in the actual theme menu nor in the export section, but the theme will be loaded properly onto the phone. I have like 6 files of themes I use this way. At this point, theme is just a launcher for premade templates that has none already on it, so you have to add your own. Really wish I would have downloaded more before the mycolorscreen site went down. :/

"Newbie" looking to create a "standard" android theme. Some starter questions

"Newbie" looking to create a "standard" android theme. Some starter questions
Hello,
I am not new to Android but I have had a tough time finding a "native" way to create themes. I do not want to use a theme launcher or an alternative home app. I just want to use the standard android home app and create a theme for it. I took a brief look at the theme starting page above but none of the links I tried work. I just want to use the standard android theme (it fits my tastes closely enough) and change only a few things (for now). Here is what I want to change:
Wallpaper (so that it changes periodically through a "slide show"... only one shows currently... I have already some of these)
Lock out Wallpaper (so that a different one shows every time like it currently does... I have already created these)
Replace specific icons (I already have the icons I want to use)
Possibly replace colors of one or two apps (such as texting).
Is it possible to do this?
I have done some initial exploring on my own. My phone came with one theme (and the default theme) and that is it. I found it on my phone and decompiled it. It appears a bit more complex than I was hoping though I understand most of it. There are lots of extra icons I do not want to replace so I have a few questions which are number in parenthesis. First, there appears to be some sort of pseudo java code. I know both C++ and C# and have used them extensively. However Java isn't nearly as familiar. It does not however seem to quite fit the Java syntax I have seen and used in the past.
The files that contain this pseudo java code also seem to define the file names to use for each icon followed by a hex code which I am assuming is the activity that the file is associated with. However, I have not found where it defines the lock out wallpaper. (1) If I only specify specific icons, will the default android icon be used or do I need to identify them all? (2) If I need to do them all, is there a location to download the standard theme for Java 6.0.1 (the version on my phone?) (3) Is there a standard format for themes that can be used by the Android Home/Launcher? (4) Is someone going to update the sticky post above with more recent file links?
I found this icon pack generator tool. (5) Does it create "standard" icon packs that can be used without a third party launcher? I still would like to integrate my own wallpapers and lockout wallpapers though.

I've moved your thread to Q&A as I think it is more appropriate. So you want to keep the standard android launcher, depending on your device you could install a rom that has substratum support. This will allow you to keep your normal launcher but theme every aspect of your rom

What about my device would it depend on? If I even understand this question, my first guess would be my OEM. since...
I really don't know what you are talking about. Wouldn't the rom depend on the OEM? What if my OEM doesn't provide substratum report (not that I know what that is).
