Just recently purchased a PS3 controller after sir_earl was able to emulate native gamepad support in his Sixaxis app. After using it very successfully with my Prime, I find that I am pretty much only playing games with gamepad support. Currently I rotate back and forth between GTA III, Shadowgun THD, Riptide GP, and Cordy. How about anyone else? Please list any and all games with native gamepad support. Also, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, if a game has Xperia Play support then it will also respond as if it has the same aforementioned gamepad support. And if a mod deems it worthy enough I could see this being pinned at the top. I promise to have it nicely formatted.
I would like to keep this list to only games people have actually tested in person. Thanks.
Complete Compatibility
Grand Theft Auto III (Rockstar Games)
Shadowgun THD (MADFINGER Games)
Riptide GP (Vector Unit)
Shine Runner (Vector Unit)
Cordy (Silver Tree Mediahttps://market.android.com/developer?pub=SilverTree+Mediahttps://market.android.com/developer?pub=SilverTree+Media
Sleepy Jack (Silver Tree Mediahttps://market.android.com/developer?pub=SilverTree+Mediahttps://market.android.com/developer?pub=SilverTree+Media)
Reckless Racing HD (polarbit)
Reckless Racing 2 (polarbit)
Sonic CD (SEGA of America)
Sonic 4: Episode 1 (SEGA of America)
Jett Tailfin Racers THD (NVIDIA Tegra Partners)
Canabalt HD (Kittehface Software)
Gunman Clive (Bertil Hörberghttps://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Bertil+Hörberg)
Another World (DotEmu)
Somewhat Compatible
Muffin Knight (Angry Mob Games)
You can add Sleepy Jack and Shine Runner to that list. I've also been looking around for games that have native gamepad support. Some work, but not very well.
Sonic CD works great with gamepad.
Both are working with Gamepad
Reckless Racing HD (polarbit)
Reckless Racing 2 (polarbit)
Basically any good emulator will have gamepad support. I still use the oid series but finding them troublesome on 4.0. Fpse is an obvious choice for a sixaxis controller as well.
If you can map your gamepad buttons to android keyboard input there's a lot of games you're able to control. For example many work with the xperia play layout. e.g. Sonic 4 Episode 1. Also the non tegra version of Samurai II works this way.
Then for other games like Zenonia series, there is a specific layout, that can be found in the web.
I was really hoping gameloft would jump on this sooner or later. Their games suffer the most from touch only controls imho. They screem for gamepad support^^
Somewhat a pity that you cannot use Gamepads on the Riptide GP Demo. As in "test if your controller is compatible before purchasing".
Along with this can we also get a list of emulators?

If you're willing to do a short write up that is easy and clear to understand, I would love to host/format it and add it to the list under an appropriate header.

Sure thing. The only emulator I've used so far is N64oid, which requires a touch profile in Sixaxis and therefore doesn't meet the standards this list requires. Remember though, I only want to add games/emulators that have actually been tested and verified to work natively, no workarounds.

It really is a well done game. I was hesitant at first because racing games in general have never been my thing, but then I saw it was done by the same people who made Hydro Thunder, and I used to play the hell out of that game in the arcades growing up.
What controller are you trying to use with it?

The emulator scene on the Android Market seems to be fairly fluid. Sometimes a bunch of them get taken down, and other replace them. Just search in the market and go for the highest ranked one for the emulator du jour.

Hey, I must've glossed over this the first time around. Looking at its reviews on the Market, it seems like people have been having compatibility and controller issues with ICS?

Sonic episode one works. The d pad and the r3 to jump.

R3? As in clicking in the right analog stick? That's upsetting. It would obviously be way better if it were one of the four main buttons. Oh well. I know Muffin Knight has sort of worked for me, and similar to Sonic's R3 it uses the "Up" button to jump instead of a face button. I ended up making a touch profile because it just works better.
I'll add it to the list though. I guess that means Sonic 4 works as well?
Jett Tailfin Racers THD came out today. I've had my eye on this one in the Tegra Market since January as it promised Mario Kart-style play with native controller support. Haven't heard any opinions on it yet though.
this thread is now linked in my sticky thread. The Official Tegra3/Prime Gamer's Thread. help the op build up this list if games you come across meet guidelines in his op. this lists, especially mines, aren't easy to put together. I only use the prime tablet itself for my list. very long sessions of copy n paste..lol. my dock will be here soon though.
Personal testing has shown me that both recently released Canabalt HD and Gunman Clive have full native gamepad support.
However, the two games are listed as only having specifically Xperia Play Optimization/Support (though Gunman Clive says it has support for other input methods, but doesn't list them). Gunman Clive, in particular, has an options screen similar to Shadowgun THD where you edit the controls by clicking on whichever gamepad button you prefer to use. Very nice.
What I would like to take away from this is that Xperia Play Optimization means native gamepad support exists to some extent. It may not be full support, however, so I would categorize it along with Muffin Knight if the implementation is not ideal. Please test any Xperia Play Optimized games you might already have with your controller and let me know the results. Thanks.
Alright folks, I spent my afternoon installing and testing games. All tested using a ps3 controller (and yes, I have an app purchasing problem. As far as vices go, it could be worse). If I get time over the weekend, I'll try some more games.
Full Support
Eve of Genesis HD: Yes, Square works as the confirm button, L1 pulls up the menu. Works well.
Edge: Yes!
Edge Extended: Yes!
Overkill: Yes, you might have to disable the back key in the options, though. Otherwise firing would make the game exit for me. Otherwise, worked great.
Pac-Man Championship Edition: Yes!
Radiant HD: Everything works, even switching weapons.
Samuraii Vengence II: It technically works, but the button mapping on the ps3 is terrible. You have to use select and start to attack, with clicking the right stick to roll.
Symphony of Eternity: Yes, Square works as the confirm button, L1 pulls up the menu. Works well.
Zen Pinball: Yes, you can control the flippers. Haven't figured out how to launch the ball, but being able to use the flippers is good enough, IMO.
Zenonia 3: Yes. I would assume 4 as well, but haven't verified yet.
Partial
Final Space: Can control the ship, but no button will fire
Doodle Jump: Menus work, but the game is obviously built for tilt control
Impossible: Jump works, but no way to set progress flag.
R-Type: You can control the ship with d-pad or left analog, but no button fires. Playable if you set the option to auto fire.
Reckless Getaway: Almost perfect. Car controls great, but no way to use special pickups other than tapping on the screen.
Didn't Work:
Age of Zombies: No
Shogun HD: No
Pinball Arcade HD: No
9mm: No
Fifa 12: No
Pac-Man: No
Konas Crate: No
Kill Box: No
Super Monkey Ball 2: No

Smuggle Truck: No
Super Stickman Golf: No
Samarai vs Zombies: No
Chicken Bandit: No

how you get gta3 to work properly with controller. my controller can move the character around but the buttons don't do anything. plus I didn't where to map actual hardware controller buttons in gt3 settings.
with gunman Clive, my controller works but the button for jump is merged with shoot. so i can shoot by pressing a button and if I press the button for jump, it jumps and shoots at the same time..lol

Awesome post man, thanks. I'll get to editing the list later tonight. (Made your text small so the quote wasn't so huge.)
Hello, I thought I would start a post about ppsspp. For those who don't know it is a psp emulator. It can be downloaded free on the play store but the newest automatic builds at the bottom of the downloads section on the ppsspp website can sometimes run better. Please suggest any good games you find and any suggested settings.
I have been playing Hexyz Force and Final Fantasy type 0.
Hexyz runs very well but the simulate block transfer setting has to be enabled in graphics settings to work correctly. This game is a jrpg akin to the psx final fantasy games.
Final fantasy type 0 will only run correctly if the multi core setting is disabled in system setting. Type 0 is a more action rpg type game with none of the classic final fantasy turn based battles.
Is your FF0 english patched and what Settings are you using, i haven't tried the ppsspp yet on my Z3, last time i used this is back when i own an xperia play.
Yes it's English patched, the biggest speed boost is from turning multi core off and non buffered rendering. With those settings it runs quite well.
The Crisis Core with Z3 is Fully Functional by the default Settings, but the Graphics is Pixelated, so i wanted to know what needs to be adjusted to get the best graphics without compromising the Performance.
Has anyone been able to run Motorstorm?
although i have the actual umd and a psp i wanna play it on my z3 hehe
3 games in my phone. Need for speed most wanted, fifa street 2 & motogp.
I can play harvest moon and persona 3 portable without any problems!
Using ppsspp gold
I am using ppsspp gold and GOD OF WAR chains of olympus.. working great on my xperia Z3.. now downloading NFS most wanted..

Anyone try game on remix os?
And someone play MC5 on remix os? Can give me data file mc5? I don't have wifi module on my pc , location data ( /android/data/)
I tried some games, but it doesn't open at all...
Lego Batman opens and shows the initial credits, but it stays on black screen when you get on the menu ( playing the music and sound. its 'playable', you just can't see anything )
But other games, like Dead Trigger, just blink a black window on the screen. Its not possible ( yet ) to play at all... maybe its because the drivers of our computers is not compatible with the android ( like snapdragon and tegra ones ).
2D games, like Angry Birds, is great. No textures failtures or anything.
Just collecting data so Jide can improve ur Remix world so please help out.
I might have done this post wrong but u get the idea. Just list games u play on Remix OS
Mobile Strike
I play Clash royale and Asphalt 8,they work great. also downloaded the entire 'Modern combat 5' but unfortunately i had to give up since it doesn't have keyboard support.. Graphics were still great. I'm looking forward for integrated keymapping support for Games.

do survey here to help improve the remix environment.

Clash royale
Asphalt
Modern combat 5
It seems that many users may not have noticed this. So i opened two seperate threads at xda and google-group.
kool thxs
KINGDOM HEARTS Unchained
Angry birds action
Just loved it
how the heck do you get mobile strike running? When i first ran it, it was all stretched out into landscape mode. i found the windowed mode for it, but none of my clicks will register on the app. if i click to the lower left tile of the tile i'm trying to click, it'll work. any help would be appreciated!!
Angry Birds
might have to ask developers if it is point n' click happy or only touch screen compliant.
I've had this phone since January and while I run single screen most days, I love to bust out the dual screen for some gaming. this thing is still a gaming machine. mostly used it for running emulators, but I'm interested in Android native games as well that can make use of the Game Pad.
my favorites so far have been:
Dolphin Emulator + LG Game Pad: finally got to revisit a childhood favorite, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger using Dolphin to run the GameCube version and a custom LG Game Pad setup. the snapdragon 855 runs the game almost perfectly with the occasional hiccup.
DraStic emulator + LGG8X Wide Mode App: with some customizing of the DraStic buttons layout, this phone makes for such a cool DS emulator. Pokemon Soul Silver, obviously.
what are your favorites?
