Poor battery life caused by sleep problem related to charging. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm wondering if anyone might be able to help me with this battery life/sleep issue. I have not found much info about it online.
Phone: Nexus 6 unlocked on stock firmware and unrooted
Carrier: Verizon Wireless
Android Version: 6.0.1 (build MMB29Q)
This issue also occurred on my old GS4 which was running Android 4.4.2/echoe rom.
Note the charging graph below:

When I unplug my phone in the morning, I always have to turn it off and back on or else it will not enter sleep. With light use, phone frequently enters sleep and battery drain is minimal. After heavy use midday I plugged the phone in. Note that after the first partial charge, the phone never enters sleep until I restart it around 7pm. This results in significant battery drain.
This is a frustrating problem and I can't for the life of me figure out the cause other than it is directly related to charging. Anyone else encounter the same issue?
Thanks!

[Q] Phone wouldn't turn on and significant battery jump (not a battery complaint)

Hi everyone,
This is not a battery life problem. I've read the battery threads and could not find someone with a similar problem.
My problem: I left my phone locked and untouched while I went shower. Afterwards I decided to check my phone but it did not respond. I tried to turn it on but that failed too. The screen stayed black as if it was off. I ended up taking the battery out, putting it back in and turning the phone on.
The phone did turn on but my battery temperature was 45°C and 48%. My battery was 75% before I went shower. I checked the battery status page and here's what it showed. Notice the vertical drop in battery at the end of the graph.

After a few minutes since restarting:
The android os % also has never been this high before. I've also never experienced any battery problems mentioned in other threads. I use my phone quite often so display is always at the top. This is the first problem I've encountered with my SGS2 which had made me quite sad since it's less than 3 weeks old.
Thanks for reading and would really appreciate any input.

Suddenly android OS is eating up alot of battery, much more than usual

This dont usually happen. In fact, it only happen once.
All this while, the display always use the most battery life, about 50%
followed by android OS, about 10-15%.
my phone was fully charged before i sleep.
but i woke up with 5% battery left, the battery info says android OS used 60%!!
here is screenshot as proof.
i'm really confused, the phone state is appear to be NOT awake,
but the CPU usage is 1000MHz constantly while i sleep.
all this while i've been using rom tool box CPU slider to underclock it to 1000MHz, so thats the maximum my phone can go. i prefer it that way so its much less warm.
any idea whats causing this? as i mention before, this only happen once.
Even so, i'm very curious about this. any one experience this before? or know whats goin on?

Better Battery Stats thread and partial wake locks is your start point .

Wakelocks (?) on Wifi

Hello everyone,
I've had my GS3 for over a month now and I can say I am quite happy with it. Battery life is rather consistent (I come from an Apple IP4).
There is something that is bugging me though. Every time I am connected to a wifi network, battery drains faster than usual. Whenever I check the battery usage, I can see that the phone wakes up for short periods of time repeatedly, mainly when I am using wifi. Here's a screenshot of it.

I am on 4.1.1. No custom ROM and/or rooted.
Hope you can help me.
Something's waking your phone regularly... not WiFi. Use BBS to monitor what is doing it.
It is likely to be an app using a network connection for data retrieval.
My guess is that an app is set to sync\download\upload when you are on WIFI only, and stuck in a loop. Install Better Battery Stats, charge your phone fully, put it on WIFI and then leave it for an hour. Then check and\or post your BBS log.
Happy hunting.
Is there a free app that i can do that with???
Thanks a lot.
Probably wlan_rx_wake wakelock
There are custom kernels for that
You know, as i said, I've only had the phone for over a month. More info on that would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] Weird battery status: Faulty charging, bad battery, something else?

After a single day of use, my phone was reporting less than 10% remaining, a little strange as I've not used it much, but maybe a run-away app so I plugged it in (Samsung mains charger), then this happened:

Specs: Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300, not locked to any carrier, factory unlocked, no carrier logos or apps. Not rooted, standard OS, Android 4.3, Kernel 3.0.31-2788594, JSS15J.I9300XXUGNJ2.
So I'm now wondering either:
Super-powerful charger,
Phone thought battery was lower than it actually was,
Phone now thinks battery is a lot higher than it actually is,
Battery is on way out,
Something else?
wifi Seems on all the time. remember it's also the one that cause battery to drain.. some user/system apps running in the background..
Thanks, but I was more wondering about how the phone managed to go from 7% battery to 64% battery in less than a minute, and slowly increase from there until I unplugged it. It's at 54% now so appears to be stable.

Charging and Battery problem

Good day.
I own a Zenfone 3 ZE552KL running at 7 Nougat and unrooted. The "System UI" always notify me that a high temperature of device is detected (as shown in the screenshots). Even when the device is not even noticeably hot and even when I'm not charging. As of this time, the phone won't charge when the phone is turned on. You have to completely turn the device off to charge, which is not convenient. I have a screenshot of a temperature readings of my device using CPU-Z and notice the "chg_temp" is noticeably high, even I'm not charging at the moment. Other s says that the electronics of the battery is broken, specifically the thermistor that sends signal about the charging temperature. I think it disables the charging mechanism when it detects the high temperature.
Can anyone help me somewhat solve the problem. Either by reconfiguring the system about this "chg_temp" by adjusting its limits or by simply disabling it. I cannot readily replace the battery since it's not already available in our country for purchase.
Please help me. Thanks everyone.
