i have just bought a new phone which is the xolo a800 with an ICS phone with 1ghz dual core processor.
i am very much eager to root this phone as i have been using XDA from a very long time and have found all my answers right here.
I have successfully rooted my previous phone , which was a x10 mini pro from eclair to ICS to Jellybean.

Any help regarding the new Xolo a800 will be highly appreciated.

Swapping Sd with internal
Must be rooted... this method is for those who know what they are doing...
First get es explorer or root explorer go to system\etc find vold.fstab open it change the following lines as shown in the image

Since xolo company dont provide us Stock rom its hard to developers to meddle with device i kinda bricked mine.. need a stock rom or system dump if anyone is willing to to share the system dump/backup i'll be in debt

I just purchased Xolo A100 and trued the Bin4ry method..it didn't root my phone..can u please advise something else??

Stock recovery image for xolo a800
Developers,
I recently got a OTA update for my phone,but i was not able to install the update. After some research i came to know that i needed a stock recovery image for updating. Currently im on cwm recovery that i downloaded from this site. So please can anyone upload a stock recovery image for xolo a800, 'cause im not able to find it in the internet. SO PLEASE anyone upload a link for the recovery image.Please anyone reply to this post as soon as possible.

Good news for xolo a800 users because it recently got a jelly bean update officially OTA.
You can go to xolo care app on your phone and check for software update.

I cracked how to root xolo a800 jelly bean .
First download the cwm recovery from xda and download mt6577 scattering file. Now download sp flash tool and super user zip file from anywhere and follow the sp tool flashing process. After flashing the recovery through sp flash tool enter recovery[ you can use the method given in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982587 ] by holding power and vol up and flash the super user zip and you are done

[Q]A800 Shattered display : steps to turn on usb debugging through physical keyboard?
Hello, It's great to see that the a800 got the jellybean update. Unfortunately the display on mine shattered after a nasty fall and I probably won't be able to enjoy it. The display isn't working at all(completely dead) and I'm not sure if the touch is working. I don't intend to get the display fixed but will find some use for it anyway since the rest of it still working. Before the fall however the most imp feature that I, or anyone really needs, USB debugging, was disabled. I am hoping that someone here might be able to help out. I am thinking about using a physical keyboard, via OTG, to manually go to settings and turn on usb debugging. The device is running the 4.1 stock update. No funny business, yet!
And I have the following questions.
1. At this point, I'm not sure if OTG is supported by the a800. Is it?
2. Can the phone be unlocked via it? The physical unlock button works, and there isn't a pattern just the standard slider?
3. If all of the above is possible could someone please post step-by-step screenshots, or list the steps, if screenshots aren't possible on how to get to settings and enable USB Debugging.
This would really help me out and give a device a new life. Thanks a lot.
Also, although I use xda a lot, I don't quite post as much so I'm not sure if this is the right place to post. I posted here since this seems like the only "active" thread about the a800. Please do let me know if you think I should start a new thread.

I was trying to root my Lava Iris 402 this evening with SP Flash Tool. Everything looked like was going fine but when i rebooted the phone it kept on booting. now i don't know how to fix it. i have rooted my Galaxy Y and my xolo q800 before successfully but this time i think i blew it. Please guys please help me. how do i fix it? Any help is much appreciated.
Note: I do have those files that SP flash tool created initially when i was trying to root but have no clue how to restore with them. I do not have the "scatter file" though please help
