So, I was browsing for SD 615 phones, that run Lollipop, because I wanted to port some ROMs for our device. The best, that I could find, is Xiaomi Mi4i. It has stable CM12.1. Mi4i has the same SD 615 processor, as we do, so it shouldn't be too hard to boot this ROM on M4. Maybe someone can try to? Anyways, here's the link for CM 12.1 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-4i/development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-1-t3212636
I believe that method only works with custom roms but you can sure try. It would be worth a shot especially since it has very similar hardware

I will try to, and later report. We also have CM12 (buggy), but can be used as a base for the port

Thanks! This will surely help me. I will try to port with this method, and tomorrow I will report.
So, I ran into a problem, while repacking the ported system.img. The problem is, that I have 32-bit Linux Mint on my PC, and the only rimg2sdat executable I can find, is for 64-bit machines. Does anyone have 32-bit version of rimg2sdat? That would be very helpful.
E: Looks like there is no 32-bit version of rimg2sdat for Linux, so I'm installing Wine, and will try with 32-bit .exe version.
Tried that method and got bootloop hehe

I have 2 logcats (the one I took when logcat started and when my device started bootlooping) and a dmesg and a kmsg
Note: These are the logs taken when I flash tulip's cyanogenmod (I put ferrari's files into tulip's cyanogenmod)
Today I'm going to do the same process but in reverse and flash the ferrari's cyanogenmod and see what happens :fingers-crossed:

The bootloop log is spammed over with "Failed on audit_set_pid with error: Protocol not supported". I have no clue, what this refers to. Maybe you can try flashing this over the original tulips CM 12.1?

The same, bootloops and I can see the same error
Its no possible to port that without code. The main reason its the internal memory or hardware

hi
i have this rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2462906
ver 2.7.0
with fluid kernel
gps is not working...is there something i can do to make it work?
also, what is DS?
Hey, I can't say that I've had any GPS problems since I don't even use that function, but I believe at one point sada23 had a gps fix for 4.4.2 roms available. You can private message him and see if he still has it. If that doesn't work/he doesn't contact you, I would suggest flashing a different kernel and seeing if it works.

No prob. You could also try copying the gps files from the /system/etc directory on his CM11 build into the CyanAOSP build with the same format. Might work if you want a quicker fix.
Also, remember to make a nandroid and wipe before flashing. A reflash would also do you some good if you are still having issues. I've actually built a working version of Dirty Unicorns 5.0 for the Vibrant, but I can't post it because I don't have the post requirements yet. From my test builds, it flies!

That's a big project, and I would like to see it on our G5 too. Been thinking about trying this myself.
Here are some links to help this thread start

Well I've just downloaded global rom for snapdragon 820,and next step is to make my development environment, so I'll try porting it to Lg G5 H850. No eta but I'll try to make it work fully, and when I'm done or have a functional rom,I'll post it.
Maybe buy an xiaomi phone, Note 2 coming soon 6gig of ram, it's tempting curved edges as well.

Didn't had much time yet, but so far Ubuntu running in virtualbox, dat files from both miui rom and stock G5 are extracted. Few steps I need to do and then just need to start porting. But won't really have a lot time for it until Monday, busy with work.
Made some progress,so far system files have been replaced, now I need to edit certain files, and then it's boot.img modifying. Boot.img I'm going to do tomorrow, since it's pretty late here. And after that it's testing time, flash and see what's not working, hehe and try to fix it.

Would love to make it myself but im a complete noob when it comes to this stuff. I have a decent computer so i might try and give it ago, if not then i will happily do any rom testing.
Miui on LG G5 would be the best thing since sliced bread.
Complete noob but giving it a go have everything setup so going to give it ago

I followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/guide-build-port-miui-rom-to-device-t3250984 with base and cm rom for first. I debloated the rom ecc. I had a lot of reject that I solved. But in the end the flashing gave me error.
I had also followed this guide http://www.osbusters.net/2015/11/how-to-port-miui-7-rom-to-qualcomm-smartphones.html to porting the miui. I tried with the mi5 miui. Also error in twrp

What kind of errors did you get when you tried flashing? It's not as easy at it seems,I've managed to pass flashing but got just reboots, so now I'm replacing some other files to see if I can get it to boot completely into android

Tried although i get a TWRP error when trying to flash, could you upload your MIUI creation so i can take a look and compare ?
Well its 2:10AM now so off to bed might try another method tomorrow
If you are getting a twrp error (doesn't want to flash) usually means zip you didn't make a flashable zip. If you don't know how to do it,use some of the Android kitchens to create it,it's easy and really doesn't take too much time. Currently my zip is way to big to upload due to fact that I'm using stock lg rom as base ( hoping to get stock camera in the end, harder but possible ).
Would love to see MIUI on the G5. There was people trying for ages to port it for the G4 but had no success at all so heres hoping
Does anyone know why is there no "official" G5 miui?
any news?
So....i Tried out treble and even though performance was'nt really the best...arrow OS pie and pixel dust pie Werke the 2 Roms i liked the most....so i decided to ask in the Forums who would like to port either
Is anyone actually Viewing this?
Did you try before, with mtk was easy, but in Snapdragon it's harder, I tried with the ROMS from Redmi Note 3 Pro, since both have the same processor could boot up
I tried but the screen gets dark and never booted, maybe with the correct vendor files but since I don't own a PC it's impossible for me

Failed.....no PC access
Like I said, you can't compile those ROMs from source simply because there is no source. Whatever you get out of the compiler will crash and burn, be incompatible, or be a GSI.

That's called porting. For example you can port RR from the Redmi Note 3 using Chippa_a's LOS 16 as base.
Problem is, in most cases you will have a combined set of bugs from both ROMs.

UPDATE:
I was able to contact him and got an answer
He stated that he did not have an Xperia x to test this ROM
But told that I could test and send feedback if it works or not.
Maybe you can write a PM asking if you can test too! (Anyone who reads this can ask!)
This whole thing feels weird.
On first flash, recovery says the ROM was created by jhenrique09, who is an official maintainer of PE. But after searching both jhenrique09 and PE's official Github, there's no sign of suzu on the list. I'm assuming this is a port. This brings us to another problem.
A quick look at the file name reveals this ROM is based on 4.4 kernel. As far as I know, there is no Pie ROM out there that is using 4.4 kernel (Chippa_a's LOS uses 3.10, Omni and Treble uses 4.9). The closest thing I could think of is Omni 8, but why port a Pie ROM using an Oreo base?
Lastly, who would make a ROM for a phone they don't have?

maybe problem is your gapps do clean install(wipe dalvik, system, data, cache) and install rom without gapps it probably will open
NOTE: this is not gsi this is build rom.
I think it's gapps-related - it didn't reboot until I flashed open_gapps-arm64-11.0-nano-20211217
This is a log from just before it rebooted.
Any plans to make a A505fn variant?
