How to Check Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is Original or Fake - Sony Xperia M4 Aqua

Dear,
I have purchased new m4 aqua.
When i enter handset Imei number on sony website, the website says its a fake IMEI number
Please guide me how i can check that handset is Original Sony made not fake one
Regards
Baqar Iqbal

Where did you put it? Can you give a link to this site?

I would test with pc companion to update. Or post some Photos of the device.

Try downloading CPUz on you phone. See, what the specs of it say. I dunno if it needs root.

I put my imei on that crap site and tells me is not genuine. Tried with 2 m4 and one z2, same results. http://103.4.144.182/sonymobile.co.jp/Sony_Mobile.aspx

@yknot this site is 100% fake and it's always says that IMEI number is not genuine. Putted numbers propably may be stolen/used for bad things :crying:
To test that your phone is genuine and real just put it in the water for few minutes and check if it's still working (or go to sony centre)

I know this site is fake. The best way to check imei is to sign in onto sony mobile and add a mobile device imei. Based on imei they confirm model and warranty information.

Hey all!
One of my friend purchased a Galaxy S3 lately. He bought it online and the price was unbelievable. although I warned him not to buy but he insist when he saw the price.
Anyway, he realised that he can not update via Kies and also cant get the OTA. soon he understood, he was using a costum rom. Then he checked the IMEI and the result was suprising. that IMEI written on the phone and and system shows are totally different. he online checked the IMEI and it belongs to nokia 6600
now here is the question: is there any possibility to get back the orginal IMEI and install a stock rom?

No its illegal to clone IMEI and strictly forbidden to post about on XDA .
Your friend needs to return to the seller .If its not a stolen phone then it is probably a fake or blacklisted IMEI that someone has played about with .

OK I will tell you the whole story..in Turkey, if you bought you cell phone from a different country, for security reasons you should register that IMEI with your passport, and for once you should pay nearly $50 tax. or else the GSM provider blocks the phone.
I guess that phone was unregistered and the seller tought to solve this problem by cloning the IMEI with an old phone. I am saying old phone because that IMEI should only be one in the network. two same IMEI means two blocked phones.
all I want to know is there any solution to get back the original IMEI that written on the phone. I am not talking about the cloning the IMEI.
Connect your phone to your Pc, and watch out for a folder called EFS.
If you're lucky and the custom rom was installed had the function, the original IMEI was backed up to this folder. Find inside the IMEI data. and compare with the one on the phone. If they are different, you're a lucky *bastard* ;D
good luck
EDIT: But I cant say what file contains the imei. Just looked at my phone and couldnt find a file that contains it. Maybe some dat file or something like that. but it could be in hex

[Q] i9300 mobile network issues :S

I'm having some issues with my i9300 i bought not too long ago pre-owned, i'm going to try my best to keep it clear and simple but...
I bought a i9300 off ebay locked to Optus mobile network, now before I tried to unlock it i rooted it and installed the cyanogen mod 10.2.0. Now I cant read my imei number and some other specs on the phone, i believe you need the imei or else it wont always work i'm told (unlocking the network). Ive been looking around for a stock rom from optus australian versions to see if that fixes the imei problem (didnt check to see if it was there when I had original rom on it). I've been running into problems finding a site that lets you download over 1 gig files without registering (**** that ****). Now I have two questions.
1. Can someone point me to a link of a fool proof no surveys and no registry restrictions of a stock rom from optus??
2. Is there it required to have an imei for unlocking or will unlocking fix my imei problem??
Is there a free way and relaviley easy way to unlock my phone??
Appreciate any help and ask for any more information

@ uxamahaxxan,
After the last couple of days convinced that I had bricked my Lenovo P2, but using this guide above: OS_Man - I sorted it in a couple of hours by backing up my wife's P2 using the QPST software backup option, then used the Hex editor to overwrite the .QCN file with my IMEI and restored the altered original. No problem.

I could re instate imei numbers to my phone by opening diag port using ussd code. But still mobile isn't showing any network reception.
Imei sv number though look suspicious. It's showing as 01 where as all mobiles at home are showing it as 00. Don't know if that's the cause of issue. Also don't know whether and how I can change them.

How to find the model number of sony xperia z ultra

Hey guys,
So, I bought an old x peria z ultra because I just love this phone. Now, as I turn it on there is absolutely no audio. Neither from internal speaker , external speaker , earphone. This device is currently running cynogenmod 4.3.1 . The imei shows 00000.
I have lost the sim tray so can't find the imei there. moreover there is absolutely no info about the model. I dont want to tear it apart to find the model number.
So, is there anyway I can find the model number such that i can flash the respective stock firmware and try and get the IMEI back ?
or is there any other way?
I tried some google apps to find the device info it reads c6833. However I am not sure of this . For the first place the previous owner might have flashed the wrong firmware and screwed the phone.?
I love this phone even after all these years. i hope you guys can help me fix this issue
Regards,
Pannam

Empty or 00000 imei happened on custom rom ?

Hello, I'm from Indonesia
Here I found a bug on my device (Sony Xperia xz1 (G8341)). The bug is a little strange
Because it happens in a certain simcard I hope there will be a solution but maybe now I can only hope.
I use two simcards in turn. Simcard A runs normally, there are no problems, but once I switch to Simcard B, there are problems such as being unable to make calls, sending messages and cannot connect with Internet Though the internet is the most important
I did a trial by changing custom ROM starting from LineargeOS 17.1, CarbonOS, LineargeOS 16 and a few more. but the problem persists and in the same thing too
I try to go back to Stock SOV36 (9.0 Pie tail s126) Sony Xperia xz1 (single) .
sure enough the simcard that had problems returned to normal
I use Custom Rom again and yes the problem arises again and again
I checked * # * # 4636 # * # * it turns out the missing IMEI changed 000000 I tried another Simcard IMEI appeared I tried another IMEI Simcard to appear again
BUG only occurs in special simcards that only receive signals 4G Only and use the CAT40 frequency and for other simcards that can accept all types of 4G, 3G and 2G frequencies there is no problem.
For me and some friends who have experienced this problem on the Sony Xperia xz1 (G8341) and the Sony xperia xz1 series. can only wait for the resolution of this problem For me and some friends who have experienced this problem on the Sony Xperia xz1 (G8341) and the Sony xperia xz1 series. can only wait for the resolution of this problem
May the storm pass quickly Sorry to talk too much : D
And sorry again I'm bad in English
@starvirus10, that's interesting. Is the phone the SOV36 model?
If so, it is obvious that running fw built for different yoshino model could cause problems.
I wonder - did your SOV36 come with unlockable bootloader?
Just asking because they are folks with SOV36 that are not allowed to do BL unlock.

I think so, but when I bought this Smartphone the software used a Global version . I just recently changed to SOV36
hmmm ... Bootloader Status: yes when I check open No like most bootloader defaults in stock ROM
About Some Simcards detected Null / 000000 I tried to flash Sony_diag.zip to fix the baseband and it worked. if there is an opportunity maybe I will post it
to help others if you have the same difficulty

Interesting. I do not have this problem, but you seem to be already a second guy who encountered loss of imei:

Yes. It doesn't show an imei. And no mac address too. I'm surprised downgrading, and upgrading OS doesn't fix it. Xperia companion app repaired phone successfully but still no imei or WiFi mac.
Kindly check attached picture. I got that screen via a USSD code I got through Google. It shows there's an imei somewhere.
What do you think coukd help restore imei?
I need diag mode to rewrite thesame imei.

Sometimes when doing a custom flash. Some things might disappear and make the phone not work properly. I myself made a headache because of that ?
Actually, to improve diag in the forum there has been discussion. we just need to search with the right keywords
@starvirus10, accessing diag port is one thing, not that interesting.
but how is the imei recovery done via the diag port then?
