So my watch recently downloaded the latest 6.0.1 update.zip and I'm more than happy to report: WE CAN FLASH IT VIA TWRP!
This update.zip was grabbed from /cache, however seems to be completely identical with the one you can download from here: https://android.googleapis.com/pack...3ec3e78cb2a7d3.signed-platina-ota-2576000.zip
Exciting news, means we don't have to reset our watch back to stock for it to flash
Here are the download links:

OneDrive
Happy flashing!

That indeed Once the watch was updated it lagged for about 10 minutes still, probably due to it doing stuff in the background after the upgrade. But once that was done it's now working great, smooth and awesomely well!
thanks.
i still wiped out everything to have a more clean experience. and faster.
Yeah I would say the only reason we don't have to go back to stock is that the ota contains completely brand new system image and boot and recovery of course so it thosen't even verify system files as they all get replaced anyway
Can we flash this new stock and then flash a custom kernel? Idk anything sorry, this will be my one annoying question for the day
For 6.0.1 there is no kernel at the moment.

Is it compatible with invisiblek's kernel 6.1?

Do you know how to use TWRP? Copy update zip to watch using adb, reboot to recovery then flash zip. As it's a smartwatch you have to touch and swipe screen in a certain way to activate recovery, please search the forum for more info.

[SOLVED]
Turns out CMW 6.0.4.7 will not flash to this device - solution was to use the app "Flashify" from the play store which simply and easily installed TWRP
Thanks joshm.1219!
[SOLVED]
I am at a complete loss for a fix. Short story is: I wasn't receiving any MMS, so I finally decided to ODIN back to stock and used this method so I could keep my data. Here's what happened next:
- ODIN passed but I couldn't get past the Verizon logo
- Tried several suggested fixes but the last resort one worked; I wiped data & factory reset (thus defeating the purpose of the no-wipe ODIN... w/e)
- Everything loads fine, TouchWiz works but I get a Factory Mode popup and can't lock my screen. (still can't lock my phone even now but will use this method if I think I'm stuck with TouchWiz)
- I use this method to unlock bootloader and root - root confirmed.
- Try to install CWM recovery or TWRP (btw, where the hell did GooManager go and why is it so hard to find now) and they say successful but I simply can't boot into them, just keep getting the factory recovery screen which won't let me flash any roms or any non-signed .zips
- MMS Still doesn't work!
- I call VZW in desperation and somehow they magically reset my account services and MMS works again! (I probably could have done this in the first place and not lost my ROM/Data and sanity if I'd known)
I have looked high and low for a solution but have found none. I also have been unable to find a REGULAR stock MDK file to flash on this phone - I can only find the NO-WIPE version which doesn't even allow you to keep your data. I'm confused and frustrated and would love some active help, I just can't find the right threads/posts/ect.
Thank you kindly for any advice.. I love my S4 and have been using PA, PAC, CM and other ROMS since the day I got it - I need that back! TouchWiz is just... I just don't like it.
Try this one.

Thanks for the original stock.. sadly I am still ending up with the Android System Recovery and despite installing CWM Recovery, I just can't get to it. I also still get the ridiculous Factory Mode popup.
Any ideas? I'm so sad :'(
From off it's either home+volume down+power or home+volume up+power. One boots into stock recovery the other will boot into CWM.
Hold all three until you see some small blue text in the upper left of the screen.

Thanks for the effort but I'm well aware of that. As I said in the OP, I've been using custom ROMs on this since day one - the issue is that I cannot boot into CMW Recover, despite having a successful install via the app.
Dumb question, which app are you using? I use RomManager to install CWM (up to 6.0.4.7) and I have a flashable zip of 6.0.5.0.

I'm using ROM Manager but it won't work. I'd love to try ODIN flashing the CWM Recovery if you have the file for my MDK build.
I may have it on my PC at home. When I get there (60-90 min) I'll look. If I do I'll post up to Dropbox and give you a link.
Ok, I've searched my HDD and I don't have the CWM file. What I do have is the MDK all-in-one root+recovery tool for the I545. I can put it up and upload it if the file isn't too large but I don't know if that'll help you.
CWM 6.0.5.0 flashable zip is in the CM11 thread but I don't know if the recovery image in the file is good for you, either

This thread might be dead, but rather than starting a new one for what is probably a stupid question, I'll ask it here and see what happens. I've been having major trouble flashing any 5.0 rom on my MDK VZW S4....Seems like every ROM fails when flashing. I have a feeling my issue is an outdated version of TWRP (2.5.0.2), but I am very hesitant to update because it seems like everyone has been having issues with 2.8.1.0. With this being said, are you guys currently running the most current version of TWRP and would you mind advising which .img file worked via Flashify? Not sure whether to use the jfltexxx or jfltevzw...or if it even matters.
I'm sure I've left out pertinent information, but let me know what I'm missing and I'll update accordingly.
I've been using the latest version of TWRP 2.8.1.0 and running Euroskank Lollerpop with zero issues. Coincidentally, TWRP just got updated today to 2.8.3.0 which i have yet to flash but will do so shortly. I would recommend JFLTEVZW based on my usage. Not sure if the other variant works or not but it appears you have a verizon device so stick with JFLTEVZW.

What is happening is the 4.4W.2 update was released OTA and you're on a custom rom. The update won't take unless you restore to default or from a nandroid backup prior to flashing a custom rom. I was on Gohma and I went through the same problem. Restore to default and then the update will take. If not the annoying pop-up will drive you insane. Hope this helps.

OTAs will never flash over custom Rom, you need to flash back to stock. I didn't wipe, it was fine. This method is just if you don't want to wait for the popup (there IS a way to modv the ota zip so it will ignore inconsistencies in what it was expecting to see, but idk how and it didn't sound too stable)

You can try to reset the device (LG G watch) by the pinhole button on the back. If that doesn't work. Install this tool and follow the tutorial provided.
http://rootjunkysdl.com/?device=LG G Watch&folder=G Watch Script Tool
Just got an update on my watch and, as always, pulled the update.zip for you guys!
If you're having troubles installing this ZIP please refer to this post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67403296&postcount=19
----------
Quick Install "Guide" if it's still failing for you:
1) Install TWRP from THIS THREAD HERE
2) Reboot into fastboot mode by turning the watch off and on again and while the black screen shows up constantly swipe from the left upper corner to the lower right corner.
3) Flash the TWRP provided above and reboot into recovery, then push the unpacked TWRP backup into "/sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS/xxxxxxxxxxx/" (to get the last folder simply make a backup of only your boot partition first, it's the fastest)
4) Restore the backup provided IN THIS POST HERE onto your watch via the in 1 flashed TWRP
1) MUCH EASIER: Flash these instead the TWRP way, far far easier!
2) Let the OTA update install automatically

Unable to statfs '/system/.'.
I've flashed the stock recovery in LG G Watch tools. It went fine, so I've proceeded to install the update the standard way. It seemed to be fine, but than it stopped, with the "Dead Android" image. After using the reset button the built in recovery is dead, but the watch boots. Any ideas?

yeah it can't write to it, you have to use the stock recovery for that. You are able to write to it but you must first format the partition as writable and then flash your system image/ backup. I'm getting the usual "old keys" error of TWRP not error you mentioned, just means The TWRP is too old base

Btw. I tried going back to stock yesterday (without locking the bootloader tho) but I may have used a wrong or too old stock recovery version.
Also the only reason why the OTA is reporting an issue while flashing the package with the squashfs enabled TWRP is because the script gets a string back that's not identical with the one it expects. Maybe someone could "hack out" that check and make it TWRP flashable.

No the problem is the TWRP was built on an old base of the LG G watch specifically the last 5.1.1 update so the zip thinks the whole system is still on 5.1.1 as TWRP is still on that. I don't think the 6.0.1 source has been released yet so I don't think a recovery could be built with a 6.0.1 base of the lg g watch.

Nope after about 1 minute after boot the phone locks to 787mhz with userspace governor and I can confirm there is no CPU hotplug aswell. I don't know how you survive with the abysmal lag but ok cool. For everyone to enjoy HERE is the stock kernel, @EpicLPer add this to the op to save everyone some trouble. NOTE: you have to boot to system once before the stock recovery is restored. Also it is a twrp backup so you have to adb push it to /sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS/ to use it. If someone could just get the boot.img raw that would be great, I was too lazy to do it lel.

I only flash via fastboot and when going between versions I'd personally want to do a fully clean flash. Mind you I reverted to MM after trying N for a couple days, but again, I'd never flash a full factory image via Flashfire.

Unless a lot of users have certified that flashing via dlash fire works, I would recommend a clean flash via fastboot. This way you are flashing the images the most direct way possible. Doing this will also reduce possible entry points for issues.
First person to find an .mbn file in the boot.img or bootloader.img gets SO much cred.
Oh my .. Time to flashing silently

Most of the apps on that list that I use did not have the stated issues... None of them did.. I'm not sure if that list is up to date.
You're welcome.
I just finished flashing back to 6.0.1 and getting everything set up.
Of course now it gets released...

You aren't alone. Went back a day ago myself.

From what I've seen, this version isn't all that superb. Being on 6 isn't so bad
I've honestly had zero issues with the factory image for N. I wiped everything and clean flashed the image flat. Once I restored all my apps (around 80), so far it seems very smooth. No issues with lag in either the system or the fingerprint scanner.
I keep getting an error about not being able to find systsem.img in its package.. In thought they fixed this in the flash all script in 5.0 for factory images?

Flash-all is still broken afaik, better flash the individual img`s in fastboot.
Hey y'all,
Sorry to bother here. I looked around but couldn't find anything. I'm running NRD90M on my phone. I install TWRP and I rooted my 6P + unlocked bootloader. However I just downloaded the full image on google NRD90U. I'd like to put back my phone to stock with this new image and be able to just keep it stock and receive OTA. Can someone help me out or giving me a link where there's a tutorial. I already downloaded Fastboot/ADB and installed my drivers.
PS: It's find if it wipes everything. I just want it clean.
Thanks!
StangATX

I look forward to a twrp for Android 7. I already updated to Android 7 but lost my root and I would like to reinstall/flash magisk through twrp. The lasty twrp versions I tried in Android 6, showed upside down on my phone when I booted twrp, but the touchscreen was at the "regular" spot, so it was very very difficult to navigate. I hope I do not have that problem with the next twrp.

Thank you very much. The twrp still loaded upside down, but I was able to carefully navigate it to install magisk v11.1 again to regain my root and be able to use Android Pay once again. Thank you again!
You think by now that the twrp would be back to normal after all these updates. Is there something missing in there, that making it upside down?

Ummm......Maybe you are S821 model?The twrp maker seem doesn't have S821 model,so this recovery mightn't work on 6G/256G

There is no need for all these complicated steps. My phone(Z016D) was also rooted. I just downloaded the Nougat ROM, copied it over to the root of the internal drive. As soon as you disconnect the phone from PC, you will get a notification "New System Update detected". Click Update and you're good to go. After installation, I would suggest to do a factory reset.

It's a good news! You mean that you update to 7.0 with twrp?!!!It is awesome!
However I want to know that how did you root?with superSU?system-less superSU?magisk?or another? And did you change your system?like install Exposed,viper4Android,or delete some system app?I think these actions might make you meat some problem when updating. So I think my method might be almost 100% to update success.
Whatever thanks for your advice, and enjoy your root

How exactly can they create problems. There reason you can't have OTA updates is unlocked bootloader. That however, shouldn't really prevent you from flashing rom through recovery via SD card or sideload or just dropping it into internal storage and doing what rynaus did.

I think that you can try rynaus first.Because it's more easier. If it isn't work ,try what I say.
How exactly can they create problems. βIt may cause update fail, usually just can't update success.(from my experience from my ZF5 and ZF2)
