Hi, I am from Australia with Optus carrier. I don't like the optus start-up logo, it looks bad. I wanna get rid of it and heard that I would need to flash a stock rom from Samsung. The question is: I am from Australia and I haven't seen any Australian Roms for Galaxy S3. I saw that there are like UK ones and Algerian, but I would wish to have the Australian debranded stock rom, if possible. Or if that's not available, the international stock rom, however I haven' found any. Do you know what I should do? Once I have the stock rom, I still can get updates and so on, right?
Also, I was wondering if I hard reset my phone I have atm, which is branded, will it turn to the unbranded? Really doubt it, tho who knows.
Cheers
If your phone is modelled as gt - i9300 its possible to flash any rom for the device for example international stock rom. Look roms from sammobile web sites.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA
More firmware available as the days pass i would wait .
jje
I actually found the Australian unbranded firmware:
Australia ......... Unbranded ......... »» XSA »» I9300XXALE8/I9300XSAALE6/I9300XXLE8/I9300XXALE8
Using Check Fus downloader 2.1, you can download it and other firmwares. Details can be found here.
The Fus downloader fails to download it tho, it crashes. Is there anyway to download it directly from the server? Or what am I doing wrong?
It's been almost a month since left the ROM for Poland, and so far, just over 35 ROMs were released. Why so long? I'm in Brazil, here not even launched the Galaxy Note II already out and upgrade to Jelly Bean. Meanwhile, no sign of Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S3 in Brazil.
I'm sorry if I posted in the wrong place for my question.
Sorry for my English.
The Brazilian JB for S III might not be released until late January or Febrary.
Yet, when it is released, it will not be the latest version of JB, but one that is older than what other countries will have by then.
For your information, the Brazilian CSCs are: ZTA (Claro), ZTV (Vivo), ZTO (open / unbranded), ZTM (Tim) and ZVV (Oi).
You don't need, however, to wait for Samsung Brasil to do us a favor: just flash the UK unbranded (CSC -> BTU) ROM, using Odin3 and don't worry about it again.
All stock ICS and JB contains all languages (including Pt-BR) and the ROM I mentioned works flawlessly in Brazil. I am using it right now.

I know i could install any ROM ever released. But i do not want to put another ROM on my Galaxy S3. I want to keep it as original as possible. I had a Galaxy S2 before S3, and installed an uninstalled all ROMs as possible, but in my Galaxy S3 want to keep it original. I know it will not install official ROMs increment the counter. What i do no understand is why they are taking so long.
But i appreciate your explanation.
Thank you
Does your carrier have any kind of restriction for rooting and flashing your cellphone? If not, it's pretty much irrelevant what your binary counter says.
You can always reset the binary counter to 0 and set system to official using Triangle away if you're worried about warranty.

Why? What is the point of that?
You'll just have a device that is always outdated and with uncorrected bugs.

Hello, sorry for the (a bit) irrelevant question but does flashing through Odin the UK unbranded one (while I have another country's official ROM unmodified), increase my counter or ruin my warranty?

No. Install original ROM does not increment the counter.

I know, I just want to leave it as original as possible. On my Galaxy S2 I always installed by Odin ROMs without any problem and reset the counter with Triangle Away. But I really want to use the Jelly Bean, I'll install the ROM UK.
thank you

No, it doesn't. If you need to RMA the phone, just flash the ROM for your carrier/country and it's as original as it gets and THERE IS NO WAY they can find out you ever had a different ROM in there.
Do you do any changes to the rom? LIke CSC or modem?
Hello xda friends, i have a problem.
I purchased a SM-G850F recently in sweden, and i still have no lollipop.
The weird thing is my CSC is AUT, all my other phones is NEE.

Hi,
I recently bought a Galaxy S9+ from Dubai and my CSC is XSG.
I'm looking to change the CSC to ZTO once I'm living in Brazil.
I've read many threads here but I couldn't get a conclusive answer, is it possible to change the CSC on Galaxy S9?
Thanks.

You should have exynos so yes.
Just flash the exynos firmware you want which will give you the desired csc.
Or as an alternative flash a rom which allows you to pick the csc during install
sent from my Exynos S9 plus, Pixel 2 XL or Note FE

Do you have any firmware recommendations for me to use?

Flashing stock firmware in odin will not trip knox.
Go to sammobile.com and put in your model number and all the available firmwares will pop out, find one from Brazil.
Here check this:

You'll be stuck on XSG and will get OTA updates for that.
ZTO is no longer a valid CSC for Exynos models, since in Latin America, Samsung decided to launch the 'SM-G9650' Snapdragon 845 model instead.
like exchanging csc galaxy s9 exynos. Dude I'm having the same problem here my G965f Singapore XSP I live in Brazil I can not get the right carrier version just OXM _XSP.

If you flash the CSC then yes of course it will change lol.
Then you will get OTAs for that particular CSC.
Just make sure you dont try flashing firmware for a snapdragon if you have exynos or vice versa

Hi everyone i have a question. I am from Bangladesh. I am using galaxy s9(SM-G960F). I SEARCHED in sam mobile for the latest firmware for my region which is BNG and found only 2 firmware both of which are from March 18. So i flashed the BRF8 june patch version from German DBT REGION using odin. Still my active csc remains BNG. Now my question is will i recieve future ota updates as usual? If not what should be my next course of action? Thanks in advance.
Will this work for snapdragon variants?

hello if you want to change csc you should flash it by odin and then formate the phone to change it , if only flash csc file it will not change
To change the csc do you need to only flash csc or do you need to flash everything?
Since the 9650 and 965u are practically the same phone just one was shipped to Latin America while other one is international could I flash the 965u on my 9650 to enable Samsung pay / change csc?

Hey,
I have a 965N - meaning s9+ from Korea. I got it there, but know I want to flash a German / European version but CSC needs to be changed because of partition size.
Do I just need to change CSC and partition size will change ?
