Click to collapse
If your 4.4 rom contains all modules under- System/lib/modules/" " then you can use kash kernel which supports 4.4.But if you do not have such modules files in your rom then do not try. There is no Genuine Kitkat Kernel available right now,...
You can share your rom with us.
Can you watch?

A few questions about porting

Hello,
I read alot lately about porting Lollipop (CM 12.1) to my device (Allview V1 Viper which is basically a rebranded Gionee Elife E3) but i have some questions:
1. As far as i understood, there are some problems with CM and Mediatek devices. However i saw some posts with people succeeding to boot CM 12.1 on these devices. Can this be achieved ?
2. If yes, can i use KitKat stock kernel with a Lollipop build ? (my common sense says no, but who knows ?) If no, how can i build a kernel for Lollipop for this device. I saw that Mediatek released kernel source, can that be used ? Also, can i use the drivers from KitKat ? If no, which and where should i get the drivers from ? Can i use any files from KitKat stock rom for a Lollipop port ?
This will clear some things for the beginning.
Thanks in advance

How to build custom rom for X-bo V5 Chinese phone based on Cyanogenmod

Hi,
How Can I build custom rom for X-BO Chinese phone? I can't find any custom rom for this device, can I still build one based on Cyanogenmod for example? Is there any android version limitations? Any tutorials that can help?
Thanks,
Feras
Not unless if you have the sources to it. You're SOL as grey-market firms typically don't spill the beans anyway.
