Hello, my old Huawei Ascend G300 has an internal 2 Gb SD.
I would like to know if it is possible that the phone recognizes this memory so that it will allow me to use this space to install applications. I would prefer not to reformat the phone. Is there any easy way to do it?
I also have another problem with this internal SD. I have an external SD and the phone goes crazy: does not display the internal SD, it is as if this memory does not exist. It ES File Explorer sometimes shows me the two SD, but the majority of times, when I want to access the internal SD I redirected to the external SD. I have to use Root Explorer to access the internal SD and ES File Explorer to access the external SD card.
Can you help me with all these problems, please?
Mobile is already very old and would prefer to be able to fix everything without formatting.
It has CM9.
Thanks a lot.

New Atrix, unmodded. Tested on default storage setting set in either internal storage, or sd card.
16g sd card.
Card contains music, books and pictures.
File manager of the phone can see it and folders on it just fine, music player can see music files on it just fine.
Market bought music player( Power Amp) does not see SD card, it can only see internal storage as SD card.
Cool Reader- same- it thinks internal memory is SD card.
Neither can browse to the SD card.
Both apps worked with droid x and nexus s phones succesfuly before.
Apps that have ability to browse internal memory (tiny player and fbreader)- can go to /sdcard-ext/ and find files there.
Is there any way to make sure that apps, that are built to use SD card for their media would be able to see and use SD card, instead of "virtual" SD on the Internal Storage?
Thank You

Hi,
I had the same issue with a app called Slideshow Bob. I came from a Samsung Captivate and the file system was such that the external card was seen as a subdirectory of the internal card. I never had a problem with this arrangement in apps. However, the Atrix sees the external card as completely separate and some apps simply could not "see" the external card. My solution? I used a different slideshow app. Not exactly the ideal solution, but I had spent enough time trying to work around it. I don't know how other android devices have the external card arrangement, but this may be a bigger issue than we'd like until app developers change their apps or Motorola decides to change it's storage arrangement. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your answer,
using different apps is a work around.
I used different one- moved my content to the internal storage.
Both work.
What I realy would like to see is - those apps work as intended, the way they do work in most android phones from Droid to Nexus S.

Has anyone tried to replace the Music folder on internal storage with a symbolic link to the Music folder on external? Not sure if Android supports symbolics or not...
Should have known it would'nt be this easy. Tried it on existing SD and found that symbolic links are not supported on FATx. Reformatted my SD to EXT3/2 and booted back up. I get a SD format not recognized error.
Going through root explorer I noticed I have sd card and sd card-ext. The internal hard drive is the sd card so when I tell the phone to store to sd it saves it on the phone and not the memory card, for example pictures. Can we correct this some how? Also, same with programs, move to media is still the internal hard drive. Do we have a list of apps safe to use app2d to force
to card?
These phones do not have a "hard drive". A custom ROM might be able to change that, but then what would you use that internal storage for? I have my pics setup to go to sd-ext currently.

Hi, so I recently bought a MICRO SD card (16gb) for my Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7652.
I inserted it in the phone. When I go to the storage in the settings, it shows that there is 14.83gb available even though it is empty I haven't put anything inside. But this is not the major problem.
The problem is that the card is USELESS. I mean whatever I do, I cannot get applications in the SD card. They always install in the internal memory where there is no space left and the game is like 1.5gb which is more than the internal memory I am given. I tried moving the applications to the SD card folders in ''my files'' but nothing hapenned.
I searched the internet and found out that I had to change my internet browser settings and so did I. I put the memory card as deafult. I downloaded Directory Bind and App to SD and still i cannot transfer applications from internal to external memory, or just download directly in the memory card. The memory card is working correctly, i just dont know how to place apps in there.
In my settings--> storage, when i go to an application and tap on it, i can see the SD card under storage, but there is no ''MOVE TO SD CARD'' in any application. I have tried with the App to SD and the Directory Bind programs but i still get Root Access FAIL. My phone operater is 4.0 ice cream sandwich (i think that is how it's called)
I have tried everything. So my question is:
Can I fix this and transfer applications from internal to external memory? Or download the apps directly on the SD card?
Or i just wasted 20EURO and the card is useless.
Please Help.
Thanks.
I was attempting to root my Alcatel 9007t tablet, so I could move apps to my SD card, unsuccessfully.
So I ended up following some instructions and ended up emulating an SD card on my internal, or something or the other
It renamed my actual SD card to something else
So now, I have rooted my phone, I believe, but using link2sd card I can now move my apps, but I get an error on a certain few apps.
I can't link the data, or what have you, to the SD card, and I think its because of this emulated SD storage
Regardless, I would like to remove the emulated SD storage, and rename my SD card to something normal.
Getting to root this thing was difficult, so I would not want to start this whole thing over.
Or if I could get link2sd to link my data to my SD card , that would be excellent.
I am moderate noob so pls hlp
Footnote: no I cannot link to SD thru my storage settings, maybe is there somehow I can do that. I just want to link or move app data to SD card. This is from a downloaded apk that is making kit difficult. The app seemed to install to SD card, but the data is on the emulated SD on the internal
Halp
You will have issues as apps are not made to be on the sdcard and some apps even block the option.

OK but my tablet is rooted now and I can do it mostly with no problem.
I just want to rename and unemulate false SD card on internal and get it back to normal
upgraded to marshmallow and had both the internal sd and external sd as one (using it as storage)
This turned out to be a bad item and the external sd failed (possibly due to too many reads and rights)
I noticed my internal sd card stopped being able to install apps. On further inspection in Root Explorer external sd card is a folder, but 'sdcard' almost looks like an inaccessible link/normal everyday file. Pressing it in REplorer says that it's not mounted. Yet it is the internal sd card...I can also see how much space its components are taking up under 'storage' in Android OS.
My question is how do I fix this? Most apps get installed to internal sd. I have read on XDA that sometimes kitkat would make inaccessible/encrypt the internal sd card, how do I diagnose this is my problem ,and if I find out it is,how do I fix it?
