Fast charging in marshmallow - Honor 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have updated to B330. Now the phone seems to take more time to charge than in the lollipop with fast charging option enabled. Is there anyway to reenable the fast charging option? Should I move for a 18w charger?
I also have doubt regarding the temperature of my phone.
Can anyone please share the temperature readings of their phone during gaming with cpu-z or any method.
Please help

Somebody please helpp

I think you cant disable the fast Charging option , or I cant find the option on MM.
Its not the fastcharging like the one from Qualcomm , you dont need a new charger.

It actually is somewhat similar to Qualcomm QC, and to take full advantage of it, Huawei Quick Charger is required.
More details and link to quick charger here

Any updates on this? I swear they removed the update. And they've gone back instead of forwards with mm. It's freaking ridiculous

[Q] charging voltage/current app?

I remember seeing an App which tells you how much current/voltage you are getting from your charger. It was a very simple app, once you click on it it gives you your charging source's voltage/current reading. I tried searching a lot but cant find it, every time I search only battery readers comes up which I dont want. I want to get the current/voltage reading of the plugged charger.
I am absolutely sure there is an app like that, can someone point me to it?
I've yet to see an app that can do this.
I was looking for this a long time ago and found this way to do it via GScript:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7525192&postcount=4
Hope that helps
The 'BatteryLife' widget (by curvefish) shows the following:
Charging-A/C or USB (slow/fast)
Temp
Voltage
percentage
health?
battery type/technology
If you want to see the current being drawn from the battery try 'CurrentWidget'
Has anyone find something to see the charging voltage?

Holy CRAP blast from the past in my notifications haha
Check out my previous post in this thread.
Or install CurrentWidget. Does all the things people are asking for in this thread. But doesn't work with Trigger Redux for some reason.
Sent from my rough sketch of a Vibrant on a brick.
Try this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manor.currentwidget
:fingers-crossed:
though not nearly perfect but works on few devices
Ampre in the app store. All devices. Tell input amp from charger. Just be sure to take into account your phones operating Amps. So if the app says your chargers putting out 700mah then add about 300mah for your phones e screen and all that and you have about 1000mah output from the charger once you turn your screen off and screen is locked.
Now looking for one that also shows voltage (qualcom quick charger that only puts out 6.2V and 2.2A according to a USB-power-monitor, but I want to make sure the monitor is NOT to blame before yelling at the seller of the quick-charger, my other quick-charger has disappeared since a trip (iirc that DID show 9V and 1.5A with same USB-power-monitor and same phone (Redmi Note 7) and the Samsung Quick-chargers that came with the wife's A40 won't quickcharge my Xiaomi).
I remember getting a Windows phone from work in 2008 or so. One of the first apps I downloaded (and one of the very few available for Windows...) was a charging-current app. We used it to quick-test micro-USB-cables at work

Battery Charge Problem on One One Plus X 09-50% in a minute!

Hi guys, I've a problem, it's the fifth battery charge I do, and I notice that battery had charged almost 41% in a minute, it seems really strange, I suppose it is a sort of software problem calibration or somewhat else. I've done some screenshot to let you understand.. do someone has the same issue ? it's really strange, I've used an Aukey charger , the standard one with quickcharge 2.0 that I used to use on the xioami mi4c wich I've substitute with the plusx one.
tell me what you guys think about it, could it be a battery problem?
OK guys problem solved it's a software problem evidently
BTW is there someone who has this problem either ?
Steady with the consecutive posts! Yeah I think someone on the Oneplus subreddit had this to, just need to recalibrate the battery: http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/29598/how-do-i-recalibrate-the-battery-of-my-phone

Slow Charging post Nougat - S6 Edge - 925I

I could not seem to find a post but on XDA but I know there are multiple people facing the issue of the phone charging very slowly post the Nougat update.
While the phone says "Fast Charging" it charges like a normal 2A charger would. One thing to note, it gets less hot than it used to before while fast charging.
Device Model - SM925I - India
Official Indian Device - Completely stock
Things I've tried;
Factory Reset+Cache Wipe
Fresh Install Via Odin and downloading the 1.9GB ROM+Cache Wipe
Received a 2 or 300 MB update post nougat, which did not help either.

From what I have read so far it's the same across most devices. Fast charge will only occur if the phone is not in use. If you use your phone while its on fast charge it will say it's fast charging however that won't be the case. Not sure how correct this is but it's what I have read. On my s8 if using while fast charging it will only actually cable charge or charge slowly.
Dude I have the same issue, did you find a solution?

Very slow and inconsistent battery charge - H850 on RR Final

Hi All,
so i finally got to unlocking the bootloader and install a custom rom. I've read that some people had issues with QC not working any more and i thought it wouldnt be such a big issue but it is! Ampere says it's charging with 400mA with screen on or off it doesn't matter. Sometimes it shows 1900 for a second but it doesn't stick. It takes forever to charge the phone and it's really sad as i like to be able to customize my phone the way i like it with a custom rom etc.
Iv'e installed Charging Tweaker by Revantis via Magisk, but it's not working at all..
I'm on the standard LG Fast Charger with the standard cable, these issues didn't occur when i was on stock rom.
Anyone know more about this?
Thanks
Like I already said in the RR thread: That bug is in ALL custom roms for the G5 starting around August because something got changed in the kernel upstream.
If you do some reading you'll find tons of mentions in every G5 custom rom thread, it's not just RR but anything that isn't based on stock.
That's crazy, there's no known solution?
It charges about 5 % per half hour so it's totally useless now

It charges full speed in recovery and if booted up it usually gets a full charge overnight. I have a desktop charger I just leave it in when I'm home.
It's in the kernel and there is no proper solution. I heard rumors that it'll be fixed in O, but it looks like LOS (where the change(s) came from) doesn't seem to want to fix it on N
Thanks for the info man! For this reason i will return to my S6, QC has really spoiled me and i use my phone a lot, hope there will be a fix in the future

The charging current is locked, no sleep or mod can change that. It might work under normal circumstances, but this is different

Disable Q-Charge

Hello Guys, i want to know to know if i can Turn off Fast charging - because i want to have a longer Battery Life,
Also i know that IT IS Kernel related and also i could Change the Adapter too..
I Just want to know if there is a way to turn it of Kernel wise.
Why would you want that? It's only charging fast 0-50%, later on it slows down. If you really want to save battery, charge it as often (and short) as possible. If you needed to charge it quickly, you'd regret crippling the charging speed.

Exactly. Silly to turn it off. It's a benefit.
But if you really don't want to use it, just don't use a Quick Charger plug. Get some "normal" charger plug like for a flip phone.
We have tons of people asking why is my phone not quick charging (usually because it's in the last 20%, where it doesn't charge as fast), and instead you want to cripple that feature?
Or people ask why does this phone have QuickCharge 2.0 charger instead of QuickCharge 3.0 charger?
But you want NO QuickCharge. OK.
Just don't use a QuickCharge chargers. You can get "regular" chargers on eBay for like $2 or $3, because no one else wants them. Even QuickCharge are only about $5 if you know where to look, but you don't want those.

I use the App "Battery Charge Limit" the charge Limit is at 80%. I always try to keep my battery between 40 - 80%.
Update: i use the original Adapter of my LG G3 and it seems to also Charge a Bit fast. And yea silly to Turn IT off.. but after a Long period of time the Battery life will decrise and i dont want to Change my Phone every year - i am i heavy User.

I only need quick charge when I'm in a hurry. When I'm at home I have two phones and would want to load my V30 slowly, so that the battery can Last really long. what does it matter to me if my mobile phone charges up very quickly but loses its capacity over time?
an option to de-activate Q-Charge if you need it or not would be optimal for me
You can always use Qi wireless charging pads for slow charging, then plug in when you need QuickCharge.
Plus there's tons, hundreds, of inexpensive "regular" plug chargers on eBay or other online sites.
To be honest, in my opinion I don't think a dev is going to waste time trying to disable something that is useful and everyone wants. People complain when they aren't QuickCharging, not when they are.
Plus, that would be so hard to track down if someone accidentally disabled QuickCharge.

Show me a screenshot of that on Samsung stock ROM. My sister's S6 doesn't have that on her Samsung phone. Or I've never seen it.
____
OK just researched and see Samsung added it with Marshmallow to some phones. But since I think It's a somewhat silly idea, I would never go looking for it.
S7 edge, S8+ and note 8 have.

I agree, I would not disable it. I'm using the Samsung convertible wireless fast charger that Samsung gave away with Note8 pre-orders on my V30. Yes I know it doesn't fast charge the V30 but it charges it in fairly quick amount of time.

When asked questions, I try to give facts as I know them.
Sometimes I give my fact-based opinion.
Sometimes I just give my opinion, based on experience.
Point is, messing with Android for the past 8 years, I've found...
Not everything an OEM does is smart. Like removing headset jacks or making batteries smaller.
Not everything users ask for is smart. I remember a few years ago on Nexus 5 (which had a too small battery) one user kept asking how to REMOVE the battery indicator from the status bar on an AOSP ROM. They didn't want to see battery percentage whatsoever in the status bar, and were quite adamant about it to developers. I guess so they could be TOTALLY SURPRISED when their phone suddenly died? I don't know. It didn't make any sense.
