Has anyone else spent a lot of time fiddling with getting the Verizon up and running on at&t or T-Mobile in the states? Has anyone else gotten LTE working through the hidden menus while maintaining the ability to set APNs? (I got the LTE allegedly turned on with GSM but was then unable to change or use APN). I have also had some issues getting the stock messaging app to correctly use the proper MMSC for MMS -- currently workaround using Go SMS Pro and its manual settings. Another issue I have is incoming caller ID with my at&t Sim comes in the format +7075551212 which results in an invalid callback.
Has anybody successfully resolved these issues? I'm on rooted stock ME7 and would assume this is a safe assumption for this thread.
With an unlocked bootloader I would think tmo WiFi calling would be possible by flashing or porting a tmo ROM. Does anybody have a WiFi calling workaround?

I have been using my i545 with a T-Mobile sim in the Seattle area for 2 weeks now. I was using the hyperdrive 9.1 ROM and a couple days ago switched to the Eclypse ROM. Both required adding the APN and neither giving LTE. There is another thread where a gentleman is attempting to shoehorn in a different radio but so far has only succeeded in bricking his phone, but I am holding out hope.
I have noticed that with hyperdrive the icons showed 3g 4g and HSPCA+ but on eclipse I only get the 3g icon for hspca+ and no icon for 4g or 3g on eclipse, which doesn't really bother me much but something I have noticed.
I have had zero mms sms issues i keep hearing about. I use the 4.2 AOSP messaging apk. I should note that my wife has a note 2 from verizon also running a tmobile sim and she had issues until i added the mms proxy info in the apn. Now she can send fine also. (i also had to delete the setup.apk to get rid of the sim notification on her pgone but not mine.)
One thing I am having an issue with is when I cycle the phone on and off. When it turns back on I get a notification that all calls are being forwarded to a 1800 number but when I click the notification it thinks for a bit then disables all 3 settings and the phone works fine.
I hope someone smarter than myself can figure this out. Our radios are supposedly able to pick up and frequency, so in theory it is possible. I tried to flash a 9500 ROM in hopes the radio settings would work, but was rewarded with a bricked phone and joy of an oden back up.
Really love the Lollipop rom, but since I am on Bluegrass Celluler, when the rom is installed, the data connection doesn't work. No phone or sms or mms is available. Bluegrass uses their own roms and special data connection settings to work with Verizon towers. If any one has overcome this, I would like to know. Have googled to no end and never found an answer to get phone and sms working with custom roms with Bluegrass Cellular as the carrier. Thanks guys......

I feel your pain ......I too am with bluegrass and I tried several Roms on my moto x 2014. I had no service or internet either. I went back with my backup the first few times no problem then I had trouble with recovery, getting phone to see the files etc....anyway after a few days I finally got back to my original but now my cell signal is weak and data is horrible...no 4g ever and seldom even 3g....maybe I picked up the wrong baseband or modem along the way??? If anyone has any advice or a bluegrass baseband I could try it would be much appreciated ....thanks in advance.....
I have an S4 mini and it updated using Samsung Kies. After that no data connection. Bluegrass re-flashed it for me. It seems this is something they do on a regular basis. You might try that.

You Can Correct The Issue With Advanced Signal Status from the app store.
Possibly try..

CM12.1 D2VZW from download.cyanogenmod.org worked for me on PagePlus. I don't recall if BlueGrass is a provider or reseller, hear ccommercial often. At worst you will have to edit APN and or ##DATA setting. I would recommend downloading Partition Backup from Play Store by wanam. At minimum open menu and choose Backup first blocks. That makes a unbrick image for real emergencies. I would also backup your efs, modem, modemst1 and modemst2. The first time I installed CM12.1 I lost my network/serials and sound. I had the best luck with 5-17-2015 nightly, which kept my sound. Worst case you can do like others suggested and take it in store for restore. Maybe with some talking you can obtain the actual restore file.
Note : Check the ##MSL settings on bg rom and note the settings for adding into the custom rom of your choosing. Code is typically 000000,but maybe different. This is a subset of service program only available on TouchWiz/Stock roms
Hey, got the phone and sms working using Advanced Signal Status from Google Play. Thanks for your reply. The major issue I am having now is no sound at all and no mic with any Serrano Lexx Lollipop rim. I have an S4 Mini SCH-I435L.
Hey everyone. I just bought an unlocked, unused (new) galaxy s4 I545 (Verizon) and it wont send out text msgs with my T-mobile sim card. I do receive (inbound) text; but no outbound text msgs. Calls and web surfing work fine.
I'm aware that this is very common problem when trying to go from Verizon to Tmobile with galaxy S4 phones, but i have not been able to find a straightforward solution to this exact issue. Has anyone been able to solve this? I did find this one thread that addressed this problem, but it's quite confusing --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-verizon/help/noob-s-stuck-oc1-lollipop-t3116732

I have the same issue. Tried every thing that was suggested by T-Mobile and they say that the phone is broken. However, when I put a Verizon SIM card in it, it works fine.

This thread may be of some help. It looks like this guy has gotten T-Mobile service to work on his SCH-I545 Verizon variant

I tried changing all the APN settings. These are the same ones T-mobile had me switch. There is another post where the user discovered his SMS/MMS works when on 3g, but not 4g. The workaround was to Root and then change a setting to use only 3G. My problem is that I cannot get Kingroot or any other app to root my phone. They all fail.

What build are you running?
F1
I was able to root my I545 yesterday after months in limbo........ I used Kingroot (not Kingoroot). I tried it 7 times from the phone, and it failed.... then as recommended by many users, I scrolled to the bottom of the kingroot page on phone (after root failed). It said I should use the desktop to root it. Soooooo I set Google translate to "English" and loaded KR (Kingroot) on my desktop.... It WOULD NOT open Kingroot. So (on my desktop) I opened KR WITHOUT english translation. and it was running (on my desktop). Once it was opened, everything was in Chinese (of course). BUT.... it has screenshots that walk you through it (although in Chinese). I attempted to root the phone (by using screenshots only, since I do not know Chinese), and it rooted it first time My advice, use Kingroot as described using your DESKTOP computer and cable. That should do it
NOW my problem, is I have to flash my VZW S4 (OC1 lollipop), to a t-mobile rom...... so I can have wifi calling with my dedicated number Of topic:..... if anyone can do some Q&A with me on that topic I would be appreciate it GREATLY.
Hope that helps ya
---------- Post added at 08:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:09 AM ----------
BTW.... I have the same issue with my text messages (no outbound sms) when I am on 4G. There is a write up on the forums on how to possibly remedy that, but I get hit with.... "MD5 has to many hashes" and I cant go any further... Im still trying to figure out what the hell MD5 is.
ATTENTION to MODS, and OP's:
I am seeing more and more people (like me) whom are coming to XDA because they have a Verizon S4 (whether its kit kat, or Lollipop), and they are using a T mobile sim. I have made an assimilation though.... These people that are coming to XDA have little, to NO root, rom, kernel, experience what so ever (just like me as well). IWe are looking for a fix (I myself want to flash my phone to a T-mobile rom, activate wifi calling, and be able to send/recieve sms continually). Is there anything that anyone could write to address JUST 2 things......... (1 how to get a Verizon S4 with kit kat, and with lollipop to have a t-mobile rom, 2) If somone elects to leave the phone a Verizon phone, a step by step (tailored for noobs like me and many many others) process for fixing the sms issues from having a T-mobile sim... The write up for the second request thats out there is okay, BUT the common problem is a "MD5" issue when you try to download hiddenmenu.apk. Without being able to download the "hiddenmenu" to our phone, we can't even get to step 2 of the "fixing sms issues"...
Please OP's, and mods........ remember in this tense world we live in, remember one thing......... "NOOB LIVES MATTER!"...... C'mon noobs, say it with me! :good:
I don't think the ROM matters. As long as it's a Verizon variant of the phone you won't be able to flash T-Mobile ROM's. This issue is most likely an APN setting issue. Did you ever try flashing the stock OC1 build for the VZW GS4?
I have the OTA lollipop update.... it came in two parts. The apn settings are set per tmobile . I can send sms however only when it switches to 3g. The problem is, on lollipop, you cant toggle between 4g and 3g like kit kat would allow. So its hit and miss (much more miss than hit...lol). From the sounds of it, the radio mhz are different between vzw and tmobile regarding 4g. The other dilemma i have is that i live in the mountains of oregon so i am 3 miles outside the network.... therefore i need wifi calling. I have a google voice number, but i need my assigned phone number for work purposes.
If what you say is true regarding a rom specific for vzw, i guess i need a vzw based custom rom, that will allow me wifi calling, and also fix my sms 4g issue...
---------- Post added at 05:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:13 PM ----------
Speaking of the 3g and 4g thing...... since i have rooted my phone (via kingroot), and installed supersu, am i able to turn off 4g? And if so, how do i do that?
No, you need a T-Mobile ROM that has wifi calling enabled. But like I said this is probably more an APN setting issue than any.
Here
This ^^^ is a link to the manual if you think you can find something useful in there. I've used like 20 apps that all claim they can Toggle LTE data but I've yet to find one the doesn't just bring me right back to the settings of the phone. I've heard rumors about an app that's $1 on the play store that can do it for the GS4 but I can't confirm that. It seems as though you need some special settings provided by the service provider in the ROM that allows for such changes. I might recommend looking into whether you can flash a T-Mobile ROM to the VZW variant.
http://images10.newegg.com/UploadFi...052213_F4_Rev_FINAL_Rev1_Web1403840347272.pdf
Thanks for the link for the manual. I just checked the APN settings, and they are where they need to be. There are only two different settings/entries that i have found for mmsc, and both leave me with this problem. I have researched, and can find a fix for it if i had jelly bean, or kit kat..... but i have lollipop
I am searching to see if this vzw phone will take a tmobile rom (or a variant). If it will, than i might be in business. Does anybody know if i can roll this back to kit kat, or jellybean since i am now rooted?
Unfortunately once the GS4 is on the 5.0 build the phone's bootloader does not support downgrading-I've tried. I, like you, have a the lollipop build (OC1) on my S4 and I really wish I had not taking that update. Lost story short it was an accident I shan't repeat.
finally got it working
I also ran into a wall after taking my wife s4 i545 from Verizon to T mobile. I finally got everything working. the phone is on OF1 so there's a lot of things you need to do they are all here but scattered and very hard to find. you need to root with wondershare mobilego. then you have to odin flash an OC1 kernel then change the settings to the T mobile settings then get this app called Advance signal status and change the defaul text message number from the verizon to the t mobile number and the mobile networks there too(you want GSM auto). after all that you'll be on 3g or H+ for your data but its not too bad and everything else works great including text. total time about 1 hour but just putting things together is where your time goes. hope it helps
Note if your T-Mobile SIM used to be in an iPhone
I was having crazy trouble getting my SMS and MMS working with a stock Verizon Samsung S4 (SICH-545) ROM. I believe most of the problems I had were due to the fact that I was previously using an iPhone4 as my T-Mobile device. After searching through the internet and finding the proper settings for T-Mobile APN, I was able to quickly get phone calls and 4G data working. However, there were some things that took a while to get working. Initially, I could receive SMS, but not send SMS, nor send/receive MMS. It's now working and here's what needed to be done:
Remove the phone from iMessage (allowed sending of SMS)
Remove the phone from iCloud (allowed sending/receipt of MMS)
Lastly, to ensure you get Voicemail access, change the Voicemail number in your Settings. To get directly to VoiceMail with T-Mobile, dial '123'. There's a different number for accessing from a different phone, but this works directly from your T-Mo phone.
I did not get a chance to read all of the responses on this thread, however, I can probably help resolve if the answer is not already embedded in this thread.
I have successfully rooted a Verizon SCH-I545 with stock Verizon ROM and got SMS/MMS to work. Unfortunately, I have only been successful through locking out LTE. If you want more detail please IM me. Otherwise, here is a quick overview:
1. Root SCH-I545 (There are a handful of methods but Wondershare MobileGO seems to do it for me.)
2. Update APN’s to T-Mobile (fast.tmobile.com)
3. Download Advanced Signal Status. Change Data Signal to lock GSM/CDMA (PRL)
4. Reboot and Enjoy
Worked on several handsets I have flashed.
NOTE: A simpler method would be to flash ALBE95_S6 using Flash Fire then there is no need to deal with locking your data signal through Advanced Signal Status, just use the default Network Settings within the ROM.
Hope this helps.
That doesn't work for me. I can't access Additional Info, AND even when I could, DATA would disconnect... so I'd have calls and texts.. but no data.

Change the smsc number to +12063130004 and the network mode to gsm (auto) using advanced network status app. You'll need root and the latest supersu binary

I did the same, flashfire albe s6, rooted, busybox, apn change, advanced settings gsm/umts, lost wifi too, but....
I was able to fix it. There is a wifi fix in one of the earlier posts: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-verizon/general/gogolies-wifi-fixes-t3099951 forgot which one I used. but it all works now (on tmobile that is)
Oh, in case you went and downloaded the latest ota from verizon (f*** you very much), like I did, lol, there's a wifi fix for the OC1 bootloader too, for us flashfire people: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23991606952597069
here's the directions, nice and slow
root the phone, I used kingroot, then converted to supersu, then install busybox
then install safestrap, if you can (your bootloader is older than and not including OC1) or (if you went OC1 or newer), then install flashfire, like I did. Only thing is, if you muff something up and only have flashfire and not "real" recovery, other than the stock one, it gets kinda stick fixing it, (you have to odin in the verizon stock full image of OC1 and start over, I think, I forgot).
then I installed albes s6 rom, I think its in the unified or maybe att s4 section. its easy to find. Its prerooted, so I just updated busybox and then re-installed flashfire. when you install albes make sure you do a full wipe and flash the oc1 bootloader after the albe rom, in flashfire, that's the only way it'll boot.
ok, so you got albes, now you need to change the apn. I use idoneapp gt 3.8. The guy doesnt give it away for free anymore, and I don't blame him, I was just lucky enough to grab 3.5 (which you need to install 3.8) and 3.8 before he decided to charge for it. Its for the sprint s4, but it allows you to do alot of stuff, even on the verizon variety (lol). You can change the apn, allow wifi tethering, get into the advanced menu to change the radios (gsm, cdma, wcdma, lte, etc) (or you can dial *#*#4636#*#* - sometimes doesnt work though. There are other apps on the playstore to change the apn too, so change it after you do all that other stuff. make sure you have the mmsc and everything else correct for tmobile. I have mine set on lte, gsm, cdma, which seems to work for everything, voice, data, mms. Anyway, good luck and have fun! If it doesn't work, oh well, I bought mine for $13. I also have 3 other s4s, a sprint l720t, the cricket one, and the 970 us cellular. I cant get the cricket or the us cellular to take the tmobile sim, even though I flashed the radios to gsm and the roms to tmobile (pain in the a**), but I think those, although they do have the radios, don't have something else hardware wise to allow gsm, since they are both exclusively cdma. I found the sprint one, paid $10 for the cricket, and $22 for the us cellular (it was brand new though). I get lucky on ebay, people think their phones don't work and they do. I've take all of them apart many times, and most times they just need the usb,mic ribbon cable, which I can get on ebay for $1.89 (there's 2 versions though). Late
My phone is the Boost Mobile XT1526. Running Cyanogenmod 13 by squid2. The latest build.
I've been using the Boost APN found here, and even though it works, its not ideal. I'd rather use the APN that's built into the ROM or the APN I pulled from the stock ROM.
My problem is that, for the life of me, I absolutely cannot get the APNs to stick. The APN that's built into CM13, doesn't stick. It disappears. And if I manually add the APN I pulled from the stock ROM, that disappears as soon as I hit save. I have no clue why. The only APN I can use is the one I linked to above. But that one isn't ideal. But I'll use it if I have to.
Can anyone help me with this that knows more about this then I do? I'd really love to use either the built-in APN or the APN I pulled from the stock ROM, if its even possible.
I have data so that's not my problem. I just can't send or receive MMS messages using the SMS app in Cyanogenmod.
Thanks!
If anything isn't clear then please tell me and I'll try to explain better. I suck at explaining.
Trying to get it to work too!
I'm having the exact same problems. I think it might be an issue with cellular network settings in CM13/MM roms (you'll notice clicking "Carrier Settings" in any of them causes com.android.phone to stop).
I've been playing around with various things, and I've found so far that using the Cypher rom (which doesn't have any Boost stuff baked in) I can put in the APN settings you linked to and send and receive MMS but LTE doesn't work. I then went back to Squid's CM13 rom (which is amazing, btw!) and LTE appears from install but changing any APN setting makes it fall over. Then I tried editing the Boost APN in deega/Buzbee2's flashable zip from "n.boost.ispsn" to "Boost_Mobile". I could flash that, and that does make it "stick" in the APN settings but, again, LTE disappears when I do this. Entries under the "Access Point Names" tab do seem to appear and disappear somewhat randomly whatever I do!
I've tried various other fixes suggested online, from root-deleting the telephony database to trying some SMS programs that let you put in the APN settings manually, but still nothing. I feel I'm close...but not that close I'll keep fiddling and see what happens but I'm not entirely sure whether this is a settings issue or a CM13 issue.
Thanks for replying. I'm gonna do some testing too. I had the same exact issue on CM12.1 so I don't think its a CM13 issue.
I wonder if there's a way to use adb or fastboot to force the APNs to stick?
I tried using the Boost APN I pulled from the stock ROM that Motorola or Boost put there and you'd think it'll work but no. It disappears as soon as I hit save.
I know CM13 has to be using some kind of APN because I have data, but I don't know what that APN is nor why I can't get the SMS app to use it so I can send MMS messages.
I'm confused but I'll figure it out. Maybe. :/
EDIT: I notice too that whenever I tried to get into Network Operators that com.android.phone would FC. I was able to get in there by putting my phone in airplane mode and rebooting. I can take the phone out of airplane mode while I'm in it without it force closing. But I'm not able to do anything. Kept saying "error while searching for networks" or something along those lines. So I just gave up for right now.
EDIT2: I noticed that in the file /data/data/com.android.settings/shared_prefs/com.android.settings_preferences.xml that it had APN settings in there that were blank for the most part. I tried editing that file to add my APN settings but it didn't help.
I've been testing things during the day and my hunch is there's a deeper problem with the LTE implementation in the 6.x roms (and earlier, perhaps, if you had issues with CM12 as well). It's difficult to know if this is Boost/Sprint related only - Buzbee2's flashable fix seems to be working for people on Freedompop and Virgin. I had a few issues today where my phone would be telling me I had LTE connectivity but web pages would give timing-out errors. I switched to Cypher which was solid on 3G where LTE had basically crashed. I sent MMS with manually inputted settings on Cypher again.
So I was left feeling that at the moment it's a choice between fast (patchy?) LTE speeds without MMS or solid (slow!) 3G with MMS. Hmm. It may be that current roms have a issue switching down and up between LTE and 3G...?
Looking at deega/Buzbee2's flashable zip it doesn't seem like it changes much, so it should be a settings issue, just as long as those settings can stick! Trouble is there might be multiple points of failure at present.
I dug up an interesting thread on the Moto G forum where a user who struggled with this on their phone found that Boost requires authentication for MMS over LTE but not on 3G:
Getting MMS to work on LTE made me pull my hair out. Virgin mobile(Boost) working on Sprint networks when it comes to MMS messages is an over complicated issue caused by the providers. When attempting to receive MMS on LTE networks with stock MMS or some 3rd party MMS apps it returns with a "HTTP error: Authorization Required". When trying it on 3G its no problem. Seems they required "Authorization" for MMS on LTE but not 3G - go figure. Hangouts basically works for all because the app itself doesn't use the phones APN settings. It tries (and does) to attain what carrier you are on and use its settings. In our case it will identify you are on the Sprint network and use those APN settings. Why don't we set our phones to the Sprint settings?...no LTE then.

Sounds eerily similar, but his fix file has disappeared into the mists of time and seems to have only worked on certain roms. Anyway, I'll keep digging and hope others might chip in.
I found a file called preferred-apn.xml in the data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/shared_prefs directory where you can set a preferred APN. Least I'm assuming that's what its for. But I need the APN id and I can't find the id for the built-in Boost APN.
I'll keep looking and testing stuff. Hopefully we can get this figured out.
I'm stuck with using 3G where I live. Boost/Sprint doesn't have LTE where I live. So LTE isn't a issue for me.
That's a good find. I think the APN ID refers to the line where you can find the details for the APN in the telephony database. There's some stuff on the Moto G forum about it here.
I'm guessing that the APN settings tab is pulling stuff from the telephony db and that your XML file is telling the phone which is the default. If so, maybe writing to the telephony.db (in the databases folder just along from shared_prefs) might make changes "stick", although if you delete that db it's recreated at reboot so it's not the originator of the data. My feeling is that there's a screwy connection between telephony.db and various other bits of CM13 right now...
Maybe taking telephony.db from a stock Boost rom and copying that in will do something.
I still have a backup of the stock ROM on my laptop. Tomorrow I'll pull the telephony.db and copy it onto my phone replacing the original one and see what happens.
Update:
I pulled the telephony.db from the stock ROM and copied it to my phone, replacing the original and I set the APNs in apns.xml to what I thought the APN should be. I wouldn't recommend it.
As soon as I rebooted CM13 stopped recognizing my sim card and the com.android.phone error popped up and wouldn't disappear. I couldn't do anything. Had no choice but to reboot into twrp and use its file manager to delete the db file. So that's a no go I guess.
I found a program for Linux (also available for Windows) called SQLiteBrowser which let's me open the telephony.db files and look through them. All of the APN IDs are stored in that db file. I'm going to use it to look through the telephony.db file for CM13 and get the APN IDs that I need. Then try to edit the preferred_apns.xml file to set it and see what happens.
EDIT: I'm looking through the telephony.db file from CM13 but there are no APNs in it for some odd reason. Wonder if we can manually add them if need be?
Finally working for me
Buzbee2 made some suggestions on his support thread so I tried them and - to my amazement - everything worked. Not immediately, I had to wait a few hours (for the APNs to be picked up from Boost?) but it did work.
So what I did was first go into airplane mode and entered the Boost_Mobile APN details that you can find everywhere online (and on Buzbee's support thread). When I switched off airplane mode those settings disappeared and those baked into Squid's CM13 (or flashed via Buzbee's zip) came back. Switched on airplane mode again, those disappeared and the Boost_Mobile one I entered and saved is there. I can't believe that's meant to happen, but there it is.
I then downloaded Google Hangouts. I'd heard it sorts out its own APN settings if you set it to be your default SMS program. I could send SMS through Hangouts but still no MMS. I gave up at this point as I had to go out.
Checked my phone a couple of hours later and my MMS sent via Hangouts had arrived. I tried a few more and they all worked. Then I tried the stock messaging app and that could send MMS too! I couldn't believe it. I uninstalled Hangouts (much prefer the simpler app) and went to bed. In the morning, no MMS. Reinstalled Hangouts, still no good. Left it a few hours and - yep! - MMS was back for all my MMS apps. I tested with and without wi-fi, knowing that Hangouts likes shortcuts , and it was all good.
So the moral of the story is...I have no idea. But either Hangouts sets the APNs for the whole rom, or some combination of the Boost_Mobile APN (even though it doesn't "stick") and Hangouts gets it going. Maybe set that up, leave it overnight, and see. It doesn't explain some of the weirdness in the carrier settings, but at least it might work.
I'll try that. ☺
Any luck, Debdude? My phone has not been perfect, with it refusing to switch down to 3G when out of LTE coverage, and MMS mostly sending but sometimes not, but acceptable for something running a cutting-edge rom. It'll hopefully improve as things mature.

Damn. I forgot. My bad. I got busy with my new laptop and my ps2 I just completely forgot about this.
I'll mess around with it in a bit. And try the suggestions you mentioned a couple posts back.
I am currently running a V30+ on Sprint's network using the latest Resurrection Remix build. No matter what I do, I cannot manage to get LTE working. Sprint's LTE Internet APN selected and for network typed, I have CDMA + LTE/EvDo. I tried selecting only LTE, but I would not get any service even after reboots.
I've also tried the following steps:
1.) Flash AOSP ROM and make a backup
2.) Go back to Sprint Stock Rom
3.) Go through the setup process and wait until phone is connected and LTE is working.
4.) Restore AOSP backup
And still no LTE. What else can I do? Flash modem or would I have to edit build.prop?
Yes, it's very possible. I've gotten it working on the Aosip unofficial before. What made the LTE work for me was replacing the rom's modem with Sprint's official modem for the V30.

I will try that right now!
EDIT: It did not work. When I switch to LTE under network mode it gets stuck on searching for service.

You have to enter your carrier's APN settings manually.

I actually couldn't get lte as well until I tried the latest versions of lineage and now I'm on dotos. Just changed the apn settings and everything is working great. Took a few minutes after initial install was only getting 3g but after a couple of messages and a phone call lte started to work.

Question, did you flash Lineage and waited until you got LTE and then dirty flashed DotOS? Or did you do a clean install of DotOS?
Also, what do you have selected as Preferred Network Type?
EDIT: Ignore those questions, all is working perfectly fine! Thank you so much, just had to edit the APN's. I believe I was using old ones and that's why I wasn't getting LTE! Thank you so much!
Anyone have working mms? I have lte but I am noticing I am unable to receive/send mms (it tries to do received mms messages but it fails to download, and I am unable to send any out)

Delete the MMS proxy and port from APN. It should show "not set" for MMS port and proxies after. Also change network from "global" to "CDMA/LTE evdo". Hope this helps
Edit: Look a few post above yours the APN should look exactly like that

Ah yeah it was the mms proxy and port causing an issue; removed those and was able to send an mms just fine, thanks!
So do you have to flash the Sprint modem or will just editing the APN's do the trick?
I'm just looking for a rom with working LTE and wifi tethering working, any suggestions?

Depends on the ROM. Most AOSP you just have to edit APN's. Depending on the stock ROM, you will need to flash modem and then edit APN's.

Any specific rom you can recommend? Every AOSP rom I've tried doesn't let me add dun. I'm back on stock now have it working, but still not as good as when I was on my pixel. For example, Netflix won't work on my TV and it won't let me chromecast it from my phone. Which kinda sucks. YouTube casts fine. I've kinda accepted it, but it would be nice to have it working.

I have never used dun or any casting tools/software. I'm currently running the EXTENDED AOSP ROM. Running buttery smooth and with no problems.

I just flashed the latest LOS 16 build but I am unable to edit apn's Anyone got Sprint LTE working on LOS16?
I cant get any pie lineage based room to get LTE. Can't even edit APN's
If anyone can help with this I would appreciate it. There is some Sprint specific bits not included with our Los base that other devices LOS 16 have like the sprint.dm apk.
But at a minimum we should be able to set the proper apns

Same thing been happening to me recently, is this something up with Sprint's end? IDK I asked about this happening a month ago and no one really seemed to have answers on the lgv30 chat. I can get APN settings to show up by removing the SIM card. and editing them then but even then my settings don't stick across reboots. I can usually get messaging to work by calling myself but that also doesn't stick.
