so i left my s6 edge wireless charging and then the next day phone had vertical pink/green lines in the the middle of the screen, odd thing is that if i press the front camera part it change the lines color, also display wont show at startup, and sleep/wake problem, sometimes have to wake/sleep couple of time to make display works, so, is it hardware related or could be software?, i did a factory reset, havn't tried flashing or checking if there is a loose conection but i want a second opinion. any idea?

I had the same issue as you did but it was a pink line that ran down from the notification light. I had to press the notification light to get it to go away. I took my phone to a samsung repair shop near me and they fixed it for free and i had my phone back the next day. Ou might have to use warranty claim if you dont have a. Samsung service center near you.

Its not software related. The problem is the display. Maybe a connector problem or the display itself. If u are in warranty u should get the screen (or phone) replaced. Got the problem myself a few months ago, a pink line on the right side of the edge screen. I do repairs for a living so it wasn't hard for me. The connector of the display is on the right top backside. (seen from the front lying on its back)
So when u press top right u probably press also on the connector a little. It solved my problems for a few min/hours or sometimes days.... But in the end it keeps coming back so i replaced the screen and all problems are gone.
Alright, thanks guys !

Hello all the wizards of this site!
I own a Touch cruise for abt 1,5 years. Have always been a fan of this site and used cooked ROM's from the very beginning. Now the problem with my device.
I took it from my pocket and put it on a table. Afterwards when taking the phone I had a missed appointment on my screen. Trying to dismiss it I noticed the screen didn't react to any touches. So at first I thought the device had hanged. Soft reset but nothing..I couldn't even dismiss the alert as the screen didn't react. That's the first time I thought the screen might be broken. So I did some research from the internet and found that a Hard Reset might help. Tried hard resetting but couldn't do it. I'm pushing the Internet Explorer and GPS buttons (lower softkeys) and pushing the stylus to reset button but nothing...just a soft reset. So I thought I'd install a new ROM as that should also erase everything from the devices memory...nothing. The new rom is installed but I'm now stock in the screen alignment Touching the screen doesn't work where the cross is..as I run my finger all across the screen it seems that lower left part is kind of responsive as the small cross moves when I touch the lower left part of the screen. Now I noticed that the screen has an oily line in the center of the screen...
so what am I to do? Screen broken? Why can't I hard reset then? The warranty of course is for 2 years but I'm quite sceptical if this goes under warranty..they can alway say that something has hitted the screen or smthng.
Any knowledge and help is appreciated..
thank you in advance

hello depeche,
u might find your topic discussed here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-475294.html
good luck
same happen to me on may, and i send it to htc. They replaced all the front of my polaris wich was scrached
I noticed today when i woke up i cannot press the right side of the screen and get any kind of response. It is only about a thumbs with of the right edge but this prevents me from being able to hit send on text messages on the default messaging app and also on go sms as the send buttons are in the same general location. Is my phone just FUBAR or is there some way i can resolve the issue. Have tried power cycling and thats about it. I guess i need to know if this is a software issue or a hardware issue and if there is any way to find out and fix the problem.
I've been having the same issue actually. In the bottom right corner, anyway.
Like when I go to attach a picture to a text message, I have to hit the text box first so the paperclip button is out of the corner. I've also had some trouble unlocking with the camera or touching it from the Navbar, where it's positioned in the bottom right corner. :/

I have similar issues with that when my phone is plugged in. And my acreen often locks up kinda with the last image on the screen being the only thing you see until you reset.

I don't think I've had an image stuck to my screen yet. I have this problem even if it isn't plugged in, which is really strange. Not sure why it's so unresponsive, takes several tries to unlock/select.
And kudos for being in Portland too! :good:
Have either of you found a consistent way around the problem or a way to resolve it? Also are you running the phone in the base state that you bought it in or is it rooted / unlocked?
I just tested my phone, by opening the browser to google.com (mostly white background), all around the edge of the screen. And I can see feedback animations for all my touches around the edge of the screen. So I don't think there is any problem with the touch digitizer, at least on my phone. Phone is still stock, rooted and TWRP.
I have touch animation when I touch the bottom right corner on the lockscreen, but it doesn't always drag/ripple out. Sometimes it acts like I've pulled my finger off so I have to do it again.
Rooted, unlocked, stock.
After touch responsiveness got increasingly worse i contacted AT&T and they are sending me a free replacement since these issues seem to be covered under the one year warranty. Just throwing that out there in case anyone else gets as frustrated with the problem as I have and cant find a permanent fix.
I can confirm that I am having very similar problems... it is getting worse.
I am stock rooted and unlocked.
It is getting harder and harder to press things, fling actions (like scrolling through a list) hardly move a thing.
I just installed a multitouch visualizer and whenever I have 2 fingers on the screen and then go to cross them (start with fingers in opposite corners, move one up and the other down until they pass each other in the middle) it actually loses both fingers and then sometimes only one pops up again on the screen.
Can anybody try an app like this Play Store Link.
I've had similar results with 2 other multitouch testers.
Is it my phone, or everybody's?
----EDIT-----
Figured I would install the Base ROM (7.0>7.3) because either it was a software issue and maybe the ROM would fix it, of it was a hardware issue (I really didn't think it should be acting like that) and I would try to get it replaced.
The Base ROM fixed my issue (for now, fingers crossed).
Now using a multitouch visualizer, the contact points are always seen, even when the fingers cross.
Don't know what caused it, but it was software (at least for me).
----EDIT----
Just plugged in the charger again... now the touchscreen is acting strange again... this phone does strange things when plugged in...
Hello
I have problems with the phone, I thought it was for the last flashing ROM LiquidSmooth, but even after the factory setting and load a new ROM problem remains the same.
At the bottom of the screen, about 1.5 cm from the bottom edge of the phone detects bad touch, which will be reflected in writing when you press "L" activity to side letters either left or right, if I'm somewhere in the menu item is placed in the bottom of the screen do not respond . So far, it solves turning the phone 90 or 180 degrees.
It would be a repair is not possible or advantageous to buy another phone?
Thanks for your response

It's pretty common issue. The only way to fix it It's by replacing digitizer.
It's a faulty digitizer problem.
I have my evo 3d for 2.5 years. After a year, my screen started messing around, I took the phone to the repair shop, the guys there replaced the digitizer and it works like a charm ever since (which is about 1.5 years later).
So, just find a good repair shop. and don't worry.
One morning I woke up and the bottom half of my Samsung galaxy avant (SM-G386T) had a grid of white lines going across it. First time I restarted my phone it went away.
But they keep coming back and now it's more permanent, Sometimes it goes away briefly but they come back. I tried factory resetting. That worked the first time for a few hours but then it came back. and I tried it again and 2nd time there white lines where there during the factory reset.
The lines even show when I turn the phone off and charge the phone. So I believe this means it is w hardware issue
I tried taking the back planel of the phone off. I disconnected and reconnected the lcd connector latch on the left side. But the problem still persists. I haven't pulled up the screen with a suction cup. So Idk if there is a cable that could be loose on the front end or not. But Idk want to go buy suctions cup if I dont need to you.
Should note that I do have a good sturdy rubber case on my phone. but it has hit the floor a few good times.
One other thing that seems to aggravate or sometimes even make the lines go away is putting my phone to sleep and waking it up repeatedly or adjusting my brightness to max.
What do you guys think? is this fixable or do I need to replace the lcd screen.
man its simple
just press the wires of display which are providing it power & ur problem will be gone.
Its due to lack of sufficient current to display!!

What wires are you speaking of exactly. cause like I said I have taken the back off and disconnected and reconnected the LCD flex cable but nothing changed. Are there wires behind the LCD I need to get to? which means I need to removed the screen with a suction cup?
Hi there,
Only a small part of my phone screen (the inner center) is working. Recent apps, back button and the outer part of the screen are not working.
I think I dropped it accidentally, as there's a small crack on the bottom back of the device. It doesn't look bad, though.
Since it happened, I tried a factory reset, clearing cache and now I'm stuck at the Android configuration screen, as I can't do anything to past that point.
My question is: Do you guys think it may have 1) damaged the digitizer/screen or 2) maybe just a connector/flat cable has gotten a bit loose?
If it's the first option, I might take it to a technician to swap everything. I don't want to sort a new screen from China and wait a month to arrive.
If it's the second option, I might just open it and reconnect stuff around.
Any input on this is highly appreciated.
Cheers!
