Hello,
I'm surprised that this issue does not bother anyone too much, on Internet are very few contributions. I have Z5 compact for 5 days and from the beginning it started to heat up. From the first turn the phone start heating. I didnt do exacting task, common settings. When I play game it starts heating up quite noticeably and uncomfortable. I've tried, according to various tests on the net, shoot 4K video. The result is that after 2 minutes phone shut down due to overheating of the phone. This is not normal, that there are videos on net, where 4K shooting lasts about half an hour. Is this normal? Do you have someone experience with that? How did you solve that? Does have complaint sense? Only adds that this is the second phone of the same type, the first showed the same problem of overheating, I took it the next day after buying back and storeowner my phone readily exchanged for a new one. However, the same course. I do not think I was unlucky on two defective pieces. Please, give me advice.

This was taken just as I read your thread here..
Mine acts the same way as you.it doesn't really ever get to a "normal" temperature. I cant bare to answer phones calls on it, it's uncomfortable in my pocket, and holding it to use almost burns me and leaves my habd sweaty. I don't shoot videos or play games, mine heats up I'm guessing from the screen alone or just data. I don't really know.
I've had mine for just over a week and the issues are kind of piling up to where it's going to be on eBay soon.

Getting my phone tomorrow and am concerned reading several reviews saying it overheats? Is this a problem for anyone? How frequent does it occur? Should I be worried? Thank you in advance!
I usually run my screen at 50 and I've had 2 times when I worried about temp. Once was when my text bogged up trying to send had 4 sending at same time. The phone began getting real hot I deleted text restarted phone then retyped text and temps dropped. Second time was when I went to send an email. Seemed like it took a while to send once it showed sent in my sent box the phone began to lower on temps. Both times this happens I was on WiFi and with losing net I switch from 3g and 4g all day. Not sure where the problem was but it went away quickly

No problems like that on my end. Although most people don't realize that these smartphones can actually run pretty hot around 100 F or so and that's normal, although it is very unsettling feeling your $600 device get that hot.
I'd be curious to see people use something like System Monitor that shows what their phones are running at during the day.

Unless people are playing games or watching videos, the phone shouldn't be that bad, people probably could do a little better job of debloating and hibernating things and their phones wouldn't get so hot... Just my opinion though!

x2. Any heavy processing load will cause it to get hot, when the processor kicks into high gear a lot of electricity runs through it and will raise the temp a significant amount. This is normal and nothing to worry about. Processors are typically designed with temperature controls which will slow the processor down when it gets too hot. You don't have anything to worry about.
Plus, if something does happen to your phone you would be covered by warranty and insurance if you have it.
Hi Guys,
I want to purchase this phone next month (due to expering contact).
But I read on android authority that this phone regurarly overheats.
I rather trust the people here who uses their Alpha on regular basis.
Is it true that this phone often overheats like the S2?

I have had mine 2 months and its never overheated for me.
Now it gets warm like any phone but only when you hammer it. Its in a case all the time also.
The Android Authority are not the authority on this occasion.
The phone is super fast and a real underrated handset. You wont regret it.
Any other Q's just ask.
same hire
Mine isn't over heating ,

I would strongly advise you to do so. Even though this phine isn't popular, it still has flafship performance and (for me) quite satisfactory battery life

after 1++ hour of gaming, the area near the cpu had the same temp as all the other surface (im talking about the area of the backcover),
so im guessing , the phone doesnt have overheating issues.
in this pic u can see where the cpu is located:
(notice the 2 metal plates, cpu is under the big metal plate(near his thumb))

As for the small battery, believe me this device uses the energy very very very efficient

I left my Moto 360 for the night charge near my bed, when i woke up this morning the screen was white with some weird dots
now it looks like strips all over the screen with various colors can someone pinpoint what is the component that cause the trouble ? or if it can be fixed without opening up the device.
this is a new device i bought from Amazon Italy (i live in israel) about 2 weeks ago.

I saw this on another forum. Someone suspected it might be a hardware issue:

Same problem for me
I had the same issue with my old one and got it replaced. Did you get it wet by chance?
Oh my gosh! I was just reading through XDA after finally getting my replacement watch and came across this thread.
I purchased a Moto 360 gen 2 for Christmas and in January, my display also did this. I had a tempered glass screen protector on it, and the screen was never hit hard. Also, the only time the watch got wet was occasionally while washing my hands. One day while at work, I looked at my watch and noticed the display all weird. It looked like food coloring drops in water. It was very strange because that morning, it worked perfectly fine!
I sent the watch in under warranty, and it took Motorola a whole month to do anything about it. After calling them up in February, they finally gave me voucher code to make a replacement (mine was made via Moto Maker btw). Alas, the bezel was out of stock, so I had to wait until late March to finally get my replacement with the exact same design as the on that broke. And yet, after all that, I still had to pay $20 for some reason. The Moto rep I called said they'd refund me since it should've been an even exchange, but they have yet to do anything. (Their customer support is HORRIBLE).
I'm just interested to see that other people have had the exact same issue as me.
Edit: Does anyone know what causes this issue? Bad display? Bad waterproof seal?
Mine didn't necessarily go bad after a night's charge. As I said, it was working up until like 3 hours later.

Hello guys. I bought my Xperia X on May 2017. 1 year and 4 months passed away. It started to burn-in. So I just want to ask:
Anyone gets the same issue? or Im the one?
How can I fix this?
Here is a burn-in (photo isnt mine but same issue)

its ok dude my xperia x dual screen like u when the temperature rises dont worry
I fixed this issue I think but how long its goin I dont know. Here a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfNJi_LoAK4 , I put this video on my sd card and run the video for 4-5 minutes. And ghosts are gone.
Unfortunately, that seems a common issue with Xperia X. I bought mine in June 2017, the display didn't show any image retention, not even when hot. In May 2018 I noticed it started to show this issue when the phone was hot, so I sent it to warranty. They replaced the whole mid frame + screen (it seems they treat this as a single part) then sent the phone back to me. After the service, I got no image retention issues, not even when hot. Fast forward to today and I'm now experiencing this temporary image retention again when the phone is hot (but this time it's way less pronounced than before).
My warranty already expired, so I won't bother replacing the screen again since now I would need to pay for the repair and after experiencing exactly the same issue in two different displays I think it's safe to assume the problem would appear again sooner or later if I replaced the screen once more. Fortunately the issue isn't permanent and at least on my case the image retention is very faintly (you need to put brightness at maximum and display a solid gray image to really notice it), and you just need to let the phone cool down for some minutes to make the image retention go away...
Mine does it quite bad now, but it's old and tired I've had my x since release it is doing well for how it gets used.
I have same problem too.i recommend you to set white balance at another rate.
I add nightly mode to my phone and it fix.so i don't need any tools.
I am using my new Asus Zenfone 8 Flip the second day. I am disappointed. I use it normally as all my other phones, a bit of videos, a bit of photos, browsing youtube. Half a day battery is flat. The screen was 60 Hz. Battery settings: Optical/Dynamic. Double checked if there is any draining app - nothing found.
All my other phones would work at least three-four times longer (and I had very good phones!). I am disappointed. It is not worth the price.
Battery is fine for me, not worse than op7 before. Although I charge only up to 90%.
But in total, I'm not that happy either - the fingerprint sensor kills it off for me.

After using Xiaomi Mi Max 1, then Mi Max 2 and Mi Max 3 with their unkillable batteries that can work 2 or even 3 days in a row, I wonder how even people pay that money for phones that hardly survive by the end of the day.
Fingerprint sensor sucks too. Indeed.
Has anyone noticed that if you listen music from Spotify or youtube in background with an adapter and you open a game (not an app, only game) the music quality Will lower extremely? It Is really annoying
it shouldn't... powerusage seems quite average.

But for some reason the WiFi test seems worse.

Why don't you just take a Bugreport and upload it here: https://bathist.ef.lc/
Then you would know why battery life sucks

Cannot Check again, I swapped back to op7.
Now, half a year later I am on op9pro ;-)
I just got the 8 Flip and I was also expecting it could last over 24h on my non gaming use.
I installed GSam, Naptime and Greenify to try to save some battery, but I'm still struggling to save battery.
Disable 5G? Just got the phone. first thing I did.. I don't give a f... about 5g..
