Samsung galaxy s4 (sprint) root - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Alright guys, so I rooted 2 days ago. Easily one of the worst decisions i've made. I've rooted my s4 mini, and it's perfect. I love it. But, my s4 gave me a migraine. I couldn't handle it. Anytime I solved as problem, 2 more popped up. Today, I couldn't get in google play (connection error) and decided to unroot (through supersu) and factory reset. I still don't have access to google play, and my battery charges SUPER slow. 15% every 30 minutes or so (it happened after the root). So now, I have a factory reset, slow charging, no access to google play S4. Needless to say, I messed up. I decided to save myself another headache and just ask you guys for your opinions. What should I do?

GT-N7100 Note 2 FREEZING (even after hard reset)

Hello guys, a couple of days ago my N7100 Note 2 started freezing randomly (while browsing the net via firefox/chrome, using Whatsapp, or even when unlocking or locking the screen) it was with a stock Android 4.1.2 (no root or anything , RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX) after a factory reset (backup & reset option) it didn't get fixed . then I decided to update to 4.3 via Kies (After a hard reset - the Vol up + home + lock buttons method) which I heard often helps in these cases, and it didn't, if anything the hangings and freezing only increased after I did that.
Then, I read online that its a common problem within the Note 2 model and that I just got an "Insane/Bad chip" or something, that dies over time.
(I have this phone for exactly 1 year now)
I dont think its an app-related issue, and obviously rooting wont help (no custom ROMs have been previously installed or anything.)
The question is, Is there anything to do before I go out and buy a new phone ?
This is very urgent due to the fact that Im using my smartphone like 24hours a day (reading, working on projects, sketching and lots of other stuff, and I actually cant handle anything without it, a lot depends on this phone.
so basically just tell me if should I go to the store today and get some S4/S5 or something instead of hoping my Note 2 will gain its functionality back ? Thank you in advance for your help.

mysterious problems with my mega 6.3"

Hello erveyone i have a mega 6.3" which is now 1 year and 3 months old (comes from november 2013). Since a week or 2 the battery got problems with charging (10% in 2 hour) but working fine except that. So i visited the samsung experience store this weekeind. And well things got worser there: while i was waiting for someone to help me my phone frozed but that happens a lot so well i decided to put my phone on and off and since then its in a bootloop.. sometimes it starts like 2 seconds i see my unlock screen and can select which launcher i want to use and then it goes off but mostly it just goes onn off on off on off on off..
My phone is not rooted or anything
I have some really important documents over there so if there is a way to keep them while fixing this that would be lovely!
It was on kitkat i guess
Either try to reflash your ROM without any wipes using PC Odin or simply just do a factory reset in recovery. A factory reset shouldn't erase stored documents. If you mean actual files stored on the device. However don't blame me for data loss. This is why you should always have everything backed up with Dropbox etc

Galaxy Tab A Rebooting

A few days ago we purchased a couple of Samsung GalaxyTab A 9.7. For some reason that I haven't been able to work out two of them will reboot every now and then, there is no pattern to it, it could take a day or two and then it will reboot while reading a book. Or another example I decided to do a factory reset of the tablet to see if it was the kindle app or the SD card I put in it, so with nothing in it after doing a factory reset and while updating the preinstalled Galaxy Apps it once again restarted. Just wondering if this is an issue with the tablet or just the buggy android 5.0.2 it is running.
I've had one for a couple weeks now with the same restarting issue. I've hard reset and cleared cache at the recovery menu with no luck. Hoping it's a 5.0.2 bug, because I bought for use while instructing.
We have three, one of them isn't doing it. We took one into the shop, did a factory reset so they could send it back to samsung. The stupid assistant manager had a look at it and said oh the sleep is set to 3 seconds, he set it to 30 minutes then said it was fixed, he couldn't comprehend it was set at that because it had been factory reset to send up to samsung. Then we came home, let it rip to Samsung and they wanted both sent back. According to the samsung rep they haven't heard of this happening with this tablet.
Thought I would update this thread. The shop rang today and decided that they wouldn't wait on Samsung so replaced both tablets that were having this problem. Got home, charged the first replacement tablet, then set it up, as soon as it gets past the set up it reboots. then basically within a period of 10 minutes it reboots 5 times. Second replacement tablet so far seems alright. Samsung want the replacement tablet sent to them, so my advice dgr00s is get in touch with them and get a replacement.
So, i've been troubleshooting and whatnot. I used Samsung SmartSwitch and initialized the tablet. I used it all day at work without issue, today. Could be coincidence, but I will let you know if the reboots return.
Sorry for your bad luck. You could try the initialize with SmartSwitch to see if it resolves your issue.
according to samsung it was a fault with the tablets. all faulty tablets were returned and replaced all is good now, samsung have three faulty tablets to mess around with

[Requesting Help] [Noob] Flash Stock Firmware on SM-935A (AT&T)

Hello, all! I recently got a brand new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge AT&T Model (SM-935A) from Best Buy, and I somehow decided to root it (Me being an iPhone user, I don't know anything about Android). Anyway, I ended up rooting the phone, and later, a Samsung Update popped up. Right after I denied it, my main apps (Caller ID Name, and Google Play Store) began to crash and fail to start up at all. Nothing was working as all apps were crashing. When I pushed restart on the phone, it booted through the 'custom' logo, then to the AT&T logo, where it stayed like that for hours. I noticed how hot the phone turned and put it in the refrigerator (After all, the phone is waterproof, right? ;_. I searched on the internet, and there I found that I could full-wipe the phone out, which seemed reasonable to me, as I had not completely decked out the phone, yet. So after full-resetting the phone, I still saw the 'custom' logo, and all of my content was gone. As usual, I downloaded, and put back all of my accounts, and soon enough, another update came round, and my phone broke down... Again. So I repeated that step of wiping out my phone again. This happened about 3 more times until I decided to flash-fix my phone, or something akin to that term. I downloaded the required files of ODIN and software from this website, but instead, it still failed with the 'ODIN protocol version failed!' error. I do not understand this issue nor do I know how to fix it. I hear that XDA is the world's best developers at Android or something so I have come here as a FINAL RESORT! Thank you for reading, and to whoever may know, please help! (If you need pictures, I will be happy to post them!)

Anyone else struggling with Samsung Galaxy Alpha performance?

My wife and I both bought Samsung Galaxy Alpha phones when they were released. It was a fine phone until about a year ago when they updated. After that update both phones became miserably slow. As in, sometimes can't even respond in time to answer phone calls slow. Today I started the GPS and it didn't offer directions until I arrived at the destination. Yet, sometimes it'll be very fast as if nothing were wrong.
I know it's not a hardware problem because it's affecting both phones. I just replaced the battery on one of the phones (taken from a new Galaxy Alpha). Doing a factory reset didn't fix the problem. Resetting the phone helps some but not for long. I'm wondering if it's just FUBAR now? Should I try rooting the phone? Maybe Google fixed the problem in a later update.
If you factory reset it and restore everything back again you won't help the phone in anyway (if that's what you did), try using a custom ROM like EpsilROM, then delete unnecessary system apps, also try using less RAM hungry apps like Facebook or find a way to kill apps when you don't use them
