How can i apply this for my z3v?
I tried to change the name "bootanimation.zip" in path system\media to "bootanimation.zip1". Then, i'm copy your file in this path and change it's name to new "bootanimation.zip" and restart my device.
And i dont see the red in my display. Only have the name of Sony brand and black color. After 30s, my device finish booting.
Is it true way?

You flash through recovery or make sure all permissions match if you have root and can change permissions of files. It won't work by simply replacing.

If you want to follow copy process., then open the downloaded file and copy the file (bootanimation.zip) situated in system\media of the downloaded file. then replace it with bootanimation.zip file in system\media of your phone . change permissions to r-r-rw. Reboot

Here is a simple boot animation i made
I found the background image on internet.
Before doing anything back up (copy to your sd card) your previous bootanimation.zip located at system/media (in case you want it back)
Put this zip file in your phone's system/media and you are done!
I want too that bootloader is located in /system/media
Hahahahahahahahahahaha! Its bootanimation.zip not bootloader.zip. Do you even know what bootloader is?

does some one succeded to change boot animation ?
Yes, i found a nice guide somewhere in a thread in this forums. Sry, but can't remember where, maybe you can find it by using the search ;-) .
the problem is that zip file dont work for sga
The tutorial i folled, worked by moving and copying some files in the filesystem (root needed)...
I'll search it tomorrow if you/no one else finds a link to the guide.

i am using 2.2.1 rooted.
Try tutorial in this thread change your bootanimation zip to custom animation
uman01 said:
hello guys i want to share how to change your bootanimation zip to custom animation,
im currently still using froyo, so if you use custom rom the steps might be different,
but should work for GBKPE too,
i download the bootanimation files from this thread
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905538
here's the steps :
things u need :
-ROOTED ACE
-ROOT Explorer installed or similiar app
-rename the animation you download to "bootanimation.zip"
-paste the bootanimation.zip you downloaded into your sdcard, anywhere is fine
-use root explorer open the system/bin
-look for the "samsungloop" file, move it to your sdcard first, just in case, you can either move it or copy it again to another place, (in my case, i copy it into system/ and another to my sdcard)
-go to system/bin ,look for "bootanimation", and rename it to "samsungloop", if you use ROOT explorer, don't forget to change the previlege first, change R/W permission first to R/O,,,(the bootanimation is not the file where you rename your animation you downloaded to be bootanimation.zip)
-put the "bootanimation.zip" (the file you downloaded and rename it's names) to
system/media
-in system/media, there are 2 files if i'm not mistaken, bot of the files are with the extension .qmq, just rename it with root explorer to .qm extension file
-reboot your galaxy ACE
-done
if you follow my steps well, you should see your animation after reboot, if it's just a blank screen, then you do some mistakes in the steps,
feel free to ask if you still don't understand , sory for my bad english though

this is the fantastic bootanimation from Moto RAZR. it is optimized for defy/defy+ & System Icons
use root explorer and copy&replace the attached bootanimation to /system/media and overrite the existing one or use Motomizer from market
reboot.

it depends ....u need to have devices rooted. and make sure u make nandroid backup incase if something goes wrong
1.download root explorer from android market and go to system/framework folder and copy blur-res.apk file & paste on computer to any folder
2.dont extract blur-res & rarz icons, just open both files in winrar/zip & keep both windows open side by side
3.now in open window of blur-res.apk go to res\drawable-hdpi and keep it open
4.from open window of rarz icons just select from ic_launcher_accounts.png to ic_widget_wifi.png and pull those selected files to open window of blur-res.apk res\drawable-hdpi and replace them.
5.now u have to push modified blur-res.apk through adb back to system/framework. nd voila enjoy ur new icons ;D

Changing Icons in the Appdrawer
i have not tested this way. be sure what u do and allways make a backup of ur system !
The icons themselves are stored inside the individual apk files. You need to open each one, swap out the icon and reassemble it. It's not nearly as hard as it sounds.
1. Tools you need
7zip Download the appropriate version for your PC.
The original copy of the Fresh ROM you used to flash your phone.
The icons you want to change.
2. Create a working folder on your PC.
3. Using 7zip, open the Fresh ROM zip file. Navigate to the system/app folder inside the ROM. Highlight ALL the .apk files, and drag them into your working folder. Close the Fresh ROM zip file.
4. Decide on which icon you want to change first. I'll use the Browser as an example.
5. Use 7zip to open the Browser.apk you pulled out of the Fresh ROM. Once open, look for the res/drawable folder inside the apk.
6. Inside that folder, look for an .png file named ic_launcher_browser.png . That's the icon that the app uses.
7. Have your new icon ready. It should be 48x48 and a .png file. Make sure it's named ic_launcher_browser.png .
8. Drag the NEW icon into the open 7zip window that's showing the res/drawable folder. Choose yes if it asks you about overwriting the original file.
9. Close 7zip.
The Browser app has now been changed and will show your new icon in the drawer, and on the homescreen if you paste a shortcut. Do the same for each of the apps you want to change the icon of. The icon will always be in /res/drawable, and be named ic_launcher_ **app name**.png
Once you have changed all the icons, you'll have a set of apk files with your new icons. You can push these to the phone one by one from the terminal, or you can create your own update.zip
To push them to the phone (once again Browser.apk will be our example)
1. In your Android SDK/tools folder, make a new folder called icons.
2. Copy the Browser.apk file to the folder you just created.
3. Open the windows command prompt, and navigate to the Android SDK/tools folder. NOT the new folder you just made.
4. Enter the following commands one line at a time:
Code:
adb remount
adb push \icons\Browser.apk /system/app/Browser.apk
5. Do the same for each of the apk files you edited, changing the name Browser.apk to the name of the file you're pushing to the phone.
6. Reboot the phone.
7. done - have fun
hope this helps u
wouah wouah wouah thank

Running MIUI 2.3.9. Replaced bootanimation.zip in system/media and data/local but still shows my old animation. Anyone know of another place MIUI might hide the bootanimation.zip? Tried leaving permissions alone and changing them to match my old animation. Nothing works, just keeps showing old animation. Any help would be appreciated, really want to try this out. Thanks

I'm on OF1 and rooted. Anyone know how to get rid of the red Verizon splash screen when the phone is powered on?
Download attachment below and replace all files on system > media folder. set permissions to 0644 and reboot.
How do I set permissions? Also, what does this replace the Verizon splash screen with?

Can I just use Flashfire and just flash the boot animation zip using that and reboot?

Would ES File Explorer be able to do this? If not, which file explorer would you recommend?
I did not see the original bootanimation.zip file under /system/media, so I renamed the four samsung files (bootsamsung11; bootsamsungloop22; bootsamsungmini33 and bootsamsungminiloop44) from .qmg to .bak, then copied the new boot animation zip file I grabbed to /system/media. I still have the Samsung audio but just black screen before it went right to home screen...no new animation. Did I miss a step? I'm not finding posts on doing this with Flashfire (which would seem logical since it would be so easy). If I go this route, I would copy the boot animation.zip to /system/media, then run Flashfire and flash it , correct? Thats it?

The boot animation i uploaded is not flashable with any recovery tools .Just use root browser/explorer. Extract all the qmg files and replace the qmg's in system>media folder.
I did NOT find a bootanimation.zip in /system/media. All the sites and videos that describe doing this refer to it. I found one place on XDA indicating that the GS4 does NOT uhave the bootanimation.zip file and instead uses only the qmg files...that was what was throwing me off.. I found the Android Lollipop bootup (that uses qmg files), replaced the existing qmg files.... and it worked.
Then I explored how to change the audio as it was silent. I made a custom .ogg file using the THX movie theatre intro (you'll recognize it instantly when you hear it) which seemed like the perfect techie bootup sound. Found a site to cut its length (its a bit too long to match the boot up animation) and Presto!! I have this amazingly cool bootup animation with the perfect audio to match! The audio file won't upload here but you can get it here: http://www.thx.com/thx-deep-note/
Use an mp3 grabber such as http://www.listentoyoutube.com/, then cut it down (I cut off the first 10-12 seconds) using http://mp3cut.net/. Convert it to an ogg (http://www.zamzar.com) and replace the existing PowerOn.ogg in /system/media/audio/ui with the new file (renamed to match). Rename and keep the old one as a .bak file in case you ever want that Samsung sound again.

Es file explorer will/can if that directory exists. Enable root mode to access system files. Be careful not to change anything unless you are very sure you know what is is.
