My phone has been on standby for almost 3 months now because it got bricked after I did the OTA update.. My phone was rooted
And now, I flash the twrp, however, I cant mount my usb using OTG cable. It doesn't show on my mobile.. I need help with this.. I need all your expertise..
I have Samsung Galaxy S2 on stock 4.1.2 ROM and have bought a USB OTG cable. I connect my USB flash drive onto USB OTG cable then connected the cable to my phone and it shows a message USB mass storage is connected. When I open My Files app, I cannot find any way to access my USB. Am I doing something wrong?
Edit: Solved, tried another USB and it worked.
Hello,
I'm the owner of a galaxy A5 2016 (a510f), and I've been recently messing with custom roms (as we all do here). And yesterday I added several files to my phone using my pc, and as I was flashing a rom, this one failed.
No problem, just get back to TWRP and transfer from my pc my recent Backup, but no! My phone just won't connect to the pc, but still charges... tried transfer the backup using OTG with an USB stick, my phone still doesn't recognize
any USB connection. Tried reseting TWRP and check if MTP was enabled and it was, but still same issue. I was forced to recover an old backup I had on my phone for quiet a long time. But maybe it would work if I tried to transfer once
booted in android... Nope still not working, despite having USB debugging and MTP enabled. You have to admit this is very strange that I cannot even connect it via TWRP or download mode...
I'm really starting to suspect a Hardware issue... but that was so sudden... I also tried several USB cable, still not working but still charging.
I really need help, this is really annoying, I can't transfer anything using USB cable now, and can only use wireless transfer.
How to get my phone to recognize an attached flash drive. Currently tried a USB-C to USB 3.0 female connector to attach a 3.0 flash drive. System does not recognize the flash drive.
Never had this issue with a rooted phone but with the stock OS, just can not get it to work.
Tried OTG USB Managers and they report the system is fine for a flash drive to be seen. It has not worked
So please, will someone explain how I can get this thing to work.

The USB connector works as it should.l
My problem was that I have the phone attached to a ZeroLemon battery pack and as of yet, the exterior battery pack connector is the issue.
Have written to ZeroLmon to see if they have a fix for this or is just out of luck when trying to connect other than charging the phone.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy J8 . My phone doesn't have any SD card. I was able to browse files of phone from my PC(ubuntu os) , even I could debug my app from android studio. But suddenly I am not able to do so. When I connect my phone via USB to my PC , it is only charging . What I did so far is following.
1. Enable developer option and usb debugging , changed default usb configuration to file transfer and image transfer and MIDI .
2. Restarted my phone.
3. Restarted my PC .
4. Change of USB cable and port .
5. At last factory reset .
After trying all above things , still I can't connect to phone via usb cable .
I think my pc , usb cable , usb port are working fine . Because when I connected another device , it works fine

Try connecting your phone to another PC/Laptop etc also change cables, if it works then it is the USB port on your PC having issues with the drivers uninstall the drivers from the system menu and reboot your PC. Important to note here is that doing so will also disable your mouse and keyboard so just tap the power key on your PC and it will shutdown.

Since the USB port is working it must be the USB cable/connectors see if you can replace it or test it with another cable, if the cable isn't the problem your USB port on the phone might be partially busted since it will allow for charging not data transfer. Something on the side, on my PC I need to unlock the screen to access my phone drive and SD card did you check for that?

Knox should not interfere with your USB connection.
