define unlock... unlock as in use on other carriers...yes you can it already is the fcc a couple years ago passed a law that all CDMA phones need to be factory unlocked for gsm use.... you just have to change a couple settings and ur in... you might not get LTE on att ot t-mobile but you will get hspa+

Probably can now check out the 910v bootloader unlock
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/general/note-4-verizon-bootloader-unlock-t3358913
Can anybody confirm.
I got one from eBay and it's on it's way.
I was happy to get this at low price but I am happier now!
I'm drooling over this and watching it like a hawk. If I find out it can be done on the edge I will post here asap

Not working for the Note Edge Retail Edition yet... but all they need is a donor with a Note Edge Developer Edition to step forward to volunteer some files. I'm posting here to raise awareness and find a Note Edge Dev Edition owner to step forward.
The bootloader unlock is *very* device-specific. They need files from a Developer Edition of the Device (so, only Verizon) so that they can duplicate the CID and aboot partitions (which are signed per the CID). It's not a "general" unlock exploit by any means... so the Note 4 unlock doesn't not necessitate a Note Edge unlock. If someone donates their CID and aboot partitions from a Note Edge Developer Edition (they're out there somewhere), then they can easily generate an unlock method for the Note Edge Retail Edition. (I just confirmed this with one of the devs of the N4 exploit)
One of the setbacks they had with the Note 4 was finding one that had the *latest* bootloader installed, since Samsung only released the Dev Edition with the original bootloader, and never updated it. (There's no OTA) So... the only users with newer BLs were the ones that had accidentally locked their phone with a retail OTA and had to have Samsung unlock it again. I volunteered the info from my Note 4 Dev Edition, but it was still on the original bootloader release.
I've actually contacted a user that has/had a Note Edge DE to see if he would volunteer the necessary files. Spread the word... we're looking for people with Note Edge Developer Editions to volunteer some files.

This could be a breakthrough with the right person or people working on it.
The aboot from the unsigned engineering build is significantly smaller than the rest... I wonder... Not to mention the SM-N900 boot recovery guide leak from Samsung. If we could get an old sboot.bin we might have a shot.

Its not worth bring on a Sprint connection, that's junk man. Been there done that. TMobile, Sprint and ATT are all second seat to VZW in regards to service. Besides, what do you gain from getting an unlocked bootloader? AOSP? Junk too. Move to AOSP and not only will you have a phone on a junky network, you will have a less capable device in terms of reception. Been there done that.
These are ENG builds, not developer builds. The best you would get from flashing the bootloaderes would be more detailed information during the boot process, and it would not unlock your device's bootloader. Worst case, you will end up with a brick since these predate the SBLs you are running now, and a fuse has been blown to prevent the older bootloaders from functioning.
My word of advice is, unless you like bricking phones leave them alone.
I know it.
* therefore asked the firmware version from dev
with engineering Bootloader phone is not start...
but it does not die and then be impeccably renovated.

I was looking for an older sboot so I could attempt the leaked SM-N900 SD Boot Recovery process to see if I could downgrade my radio (step 14 in leaked article. Have you seen the leaked documentation? I could avoid the SW rev error and possibly have a loki-able aboot from an older pre-patch bootloader, which I might have found. I'm not sure though.

I'm at a friends house now. I can't remember where I found it but it was brand new. It's like 13-58 SM-N900 Boot Recovery and released by Samsung Global CS HQ. They revealed the short needed to boot SDCARD mode with the sboot, and the last step is to flash everything back including BP and AP, after you've restored boot process which makes me think it's possible. I'll link you immediately when I'm home. Also it was a mediafire link. I'll keep looking.

This is actually the point we've been trying to make... there isn't anything remotely similar between the two devices. While they both use Qualcomm Snapdragon processors they each use a completely different model. The HTC Thunderbolt is running a MSM8655 and the Galaxy S4 is running the APQ8064AB model. Outside of that they are both ARMv7 architecture but that's where any similarity ends... not to mention the devices being nearly two years apart from one another with the S3 in between.
I have a statement from Kim Jong Un on video demanding that my bootloader be unlocked. Only one problem. It's on betamax

I have tried all of these methods and none of them have worked... not sure what's going on. Do I have to own an S4 for these to work?

Hello Everyone,
I'm hoping anyone out there knows how to unlock sprint OEM bootloader for Note edge SM-N915P or can create a software to unlock it. The main reason is that i'm trying to downgrade from lollipop to kitkat and without unlocking that bootloader it has proven quite impossible to do so. I've been trying for a long time and that's the major problem i am facing. I have also tried flashing just the bootloader first for both NK1 and NJL (4.4.4)kitkat with odin and it always failed. I even tried just flashing the Kitkat 4.4.4 firmware itself and still failed.
All other variants(Interantional, At&t and T-mobile) for the note edge seems not to have any problems downgrading from lollipop to kitkat.
So, is there anyone out there who can make a thread on how to downgrade from lollipop to kitkat 4.4.4 successfully for sprint (SM-N915P) ?!! Or maybe show us how to unlock the sprint OEM bootloader so we can downgrade to kitkat. And i know i'm not the only one out there looking for a solution.
I have attached Kitkat NK1 (N915P_bootloader) AND (NJL Bootloader). And credit goes to member "nuraniharun" for helping me out so much trying to unlock this bootloader and he's the creator of this bootloader. Hopefully it helps in some ways.
I am also attached the failed results too!!
Thanks everyone.

Why would they close it? The boot loader is locked yes, but, this guy wants it unlocked. Yes its been locked for while, but doesn't mean someone won't come along and find a way. Personally I think you can take your attitude somewhere else, that negativity doesn't belong here.
And BTW, I'm offering a $100 USD donation to anyone that does manage to unlock it.

This is a paid option and not for developer types like us. I am not convinced they support our USA model 955U anyway.
I would think Chainfire might come out with something like happened with S7 Edge. We shall see. Been 3 weeks.

Think you missed the "lol" portion if my post
So I have been doing some research and the same kind of issue was occurring with the S7/Edge and there was a modified ODIN and "Engineering" boot.img (kernel) that claims to root the device. So I am curious if using that "modified hack" version of ODIN and a boot.img that has a kernel compatible with snapdragon (the only one I see in main s8+ forum is for Exynos). Not sure if this is really safe to do but I am guessing that once enough devs want root on this device, something will be out there. Has anyone tried KingRoot?
I have trieed Kingroot but always fail!!!
I hope Chainfire can do something for us.
Anyway: eng kernel exist for this device? Snapdragon version ofcourse.
I contacted the support team for oneclickroot and they said that they do not have a root for the US versions of the S8+.
Was wondering if there would be a way to modify and or port the s7 boot.img to an s8+ variant? Maybe even a way to "trick" it as to read it like an exynos vairant processor?
i just bougt sprint s8+ off swappa. any update to the rooting it cause im gonna unlock it.

I've tried KingRoot, but it's hot garbage. Seeing so much in the way of information regarding the S8 Plus having a locked bootloader (Sprint ENG_US version or any other carrier variant for that matter), and I was wondering if there is any new information? Eager to root this bad boy, but no bueno thus far. I'm seeing the information for international ones using the Exynos, but I found this 'CF-Auto-Root-dream2qltesq-dream2qltesq-smg955u.tar' earlier this afternoon. Not even sure if this is compatible and I'm not going to be the guinea pig today. Has anybody else messed with this kit?
Anybody have any relevant information pertaining to effective rooting of the S8 Plus on Sprint by chance? Until I hear of some success with this, I'm not going to attempt. Got a bit of a qualm with a $1K paperweight. Please advise.
Thanks!
