I try to connect my phone with computer but "Removable disc D" and "Removable disc D" appear with bright color and are not available. (maybe bacouse i havent turned usb storage on and of course i can't).
Nothing changes even if i remove my sd card or restart my phone.

Archos 70IT not booting

I've just bought a user Archos 70 IT with a 1Tb disk upgrade. It's started refusing to complete the boot sequence. It flashes up the "Entertainment your way" screen, then goes black a couple of times, then gets stuck on that screen.
I've tried:
- Holding the power button down for 20 seconds to reset it
- Rebooting to recovery mode and selecting the "repair system" option (disk check)
- Rebooting to recovery mode and re-installing the firmware using the gen8 AOS file downloaded from the Archos site - this failed.
Before it died I managed to transfer about 50,000 music tracks to it, but did have the odd problem with USB along the way:
- the unit would only recognise the connection of the USB cable if it was connected before powering it up. If I inserted the USB cable at any time when the tablet was running nothing happened (although sometimes I got an audible tone from the PC, indicating that some sort of connectivity had been made)
- applications (e.g. camera, music) were unable to access the storage device, and suggested that it may be because USB was connected (even though the USB cable was disconnected)
Now I'm stuck unable to reboot it. Can anyone suggest anything?
Well all I can imagine is using the reformat option... but u will loose all data.
Did u have SDE installed before?
If - u also could try installing UD.
So you bought a unit that was opened by some guy, that then installed a 1TB harddrive?
The connection cable is very fragile and if he wasn't 110% accurate this might have come loose or broke.
So check with that guy, open the case again and check the cables.

I managed to find an option on the Repair menu (in recovery mode) which re-initialised storage without wiping the HDD. Thankfully this left my music intact and revived the system. Phew....
Thanks for the feedback

[Q] How to get data from the phone with boot loop

Hi. Is it possible to get data (like videos and photos) from the phone in Boot Loop before "repairing" it? If so, how to do it please?
Yeah, it's definitely possible. Can you still enter download mode (start your device while pressing Vol Down, Home and Power-button)? Then:
You could just root your device with cf-Root for example. Just search for cf-Root, there should be an explanation how to flash it with Odin. Once you've done that, you can enter Clockwordmod Recovery (Start your device with Vol UP, Home and power button), then Storage -> Mount USB-Storage and connect it with a USB-cable. Voilà you can access your data.
If you have CWM recovery, boot to recovery and use adb to copy your files to a PC or to a microSD card.
I can get to download mode, but Odin doesnt recognize my phone. I tried another (the same SGII) phone in "normal working" (not in "download") mode and it recognized it immediately. What does it mean? Is something wrong with the phone?
The phone is not rooted.
So there's no yellow box with "COM" in it when you connect your phone in Download mode? mhh
maybe you could try another usb port? Especially if it's an USB hub or something like that!
Do you have KIES installed for the USB drivers? And if you have, make sure that KIES isnt active while using Odin (check task manager for KIES-related task and kill them).
No, there isnt any yellow box with "COM" there. I tried without Kies installed in PC, with Kies and with Kies with all related tasks killed. I tried all of USB ports and change of PC as well. Nothing works. And as have already mentioned. Another SGII Odin recognized in second (not is download mode but in "normal" working mode)
The videos and photos aren't saved on the Micro SD card by any chance?
Chris.
Unfortunately, no.
What did you do to get a bootloop anyway?
I tried update it using "update option" in the phone. It downloaded the update and then tried to reboot but had stucked in boot loop.
A wipe data/factory reset will only erase user data in the /data partition. It should leave /sdcard (which is the internal sdcard, where your pictures and videos are) alone.
How sure are you about that? Anyway..as nothing works this is probably the last option I can try..

Very sure. Just make sure you don't choose to format /sdcard if that option is available to you. (which if you're not rooted, and don't have CWM recovery, it shouldn't be available to you at all)
EDIT to add: just so you don't freak out, it WILL try to format /sdcard/.android_secure. That is normal. This folder is the hidden folder Android uses for apps that are moved to the internal SD card.
OK, thanks. I will try tomorrow..
Doesnt work I tried everything. With Kies, without Kies (killed all processes related to Kies), I changed USB ports, changed PC.. Any idea why Odin doesnt recognize my phone? I tried another SGII and it appeared almost immediately in Odin (not in download mode but "normal" working mode) Is there anything else I can do?
// I´ve just found some information about USB jig but I am not sure if this will work in this case. Moreover I dont want to lose the warranty so I am not sure if this will affect it.

hold home and volume up buttons together
now turn power on but keep holding above buttons
and release them after few seconds.

But this will get me into Android system recovery which is not helpful. I cannot do anything in there just erase data/ cache etc. I need ODIN to recognize my phone while plugged in the PC. I can get into download mode as well but Odin doesn recognize my phone. What else can I do?

the other phone you have tried is recognaized while Download mod by the ODIN from PC,?? not in the normal..
if not you are missing the driver still
What to do with USB jig when you are already able to get download mode
actually, I havent tried the other phone connet to Odin in download mode as I dont know what to do then. I mean, can I just take the cable off the phone and long press on/off button while in download mode to stop it? I dont want to break it..
The drivers should be ok, as there is the last samsung usb driver for mobile phones installed (1.5.4.0)
Dont load any rom on the pda of odin, just get the dwnlmod and connect the phone, to see whether its showing added in the odin and idcom highlighted with yellow or not then disconnect the cable and long press as you told to come out fr dl mod

Please help me!!! Don't know what happened!!

Hey hi all, please help me i don't know whathappened to my phone but is it not opening... i rooted it and using, and than my sd card suddenly seemed''damaged'' anyway i was just working on it in recovery menu, and than it occured completely unreadible... anyway i decided to use my internal storage by using recovery menu and load a rom from there , but i could not find how to open my internal memory in recovery menu.So i just entered the section ''mounts and storage'' and i just mount all selections there like ''preinstall,cache,...'' and than my phone turned off, now it is not starting , when i plug in it to the computer, the green light appears and just lightinig there, and if i press the power button '' plug in'' sound comes from the pc but nothing happpens... please help me about this i beg you guys. Thanks
I *think* you just soft-bricked your phone... IDK for sure, but i believe it is a bad idea to try mounting everything... in fact, internal storage and sdcard ar both accessible from the install zip menu option...
Now, if the phone gets recognized by the pc, it means you can flash it via rsd lite.. but READ EVERY THREAD THAT DISCUSS THE TOPIC.... Flashing via rsd is always risky and I nor anyone on this forum will be held responsible for what happens to your phone.
I belive there are several guides here, just search for them
Ok i just solved the problem just by removing the battery and waited about 2 hours and than replace the battery and switched the power button and KABOOM! it worked Thank you dude for your reply! Thread can shut off now!

[Q] Freelander PX2 Bricked?

Hi all
Today I received my freelander px2. I tried to follow the instructions posted here http://www.pandawillforum.com/showt...-PX2-MTK8389-Quad-Core-(update-Sep-6th-2013)/ to flash the device to the latest clean ROM. I got to the "Download" stage. I clicked the "Download" button and connected my Freelander PX2 with the USB cable.
I was having some issues making Windows 7 actually pick up the "MTK" device and load the correct driver. So I was playing around with the drivers and disconnecting and reconnecting the Freelander PX2 (Whilst leaving the Flash tool on DOWNLOAD mode, which was waiting for me to connect the Freelander PX2)
I must have reconnected it several times in the process of trying to make Windows 7 recognise the device. When I looked at the flash tool I noticed it had got to around 57% with the progress bar and stopped. I can only assume I managed to get the MTK drivers installed correctly at some point but tablet didn't really tell me new software was being uploaded to it. So basically I didn't know the flash tool was sending the new software to the tablet when I must have disconnected it during the process.
I can only assume I've interrupted the NAND flash process? When I try to reconnect the tablet now, it says "USB Device Not Recognized". There doesn't seem to be much support anywhere on the internet for this specific device or issue.
I've tried holding the power button for 30 seconds.. nothing happens
I've tried holding the power button plus volume up button for 30 seconds.. nothing happens
There's also no USB disconnect sound when I hold the power button down? Surely a hard reset should trigger a USB disconnect sound in Windows.
What are my options at this stage? Is it completely dead?
EDIT: Ok, this was a bit strange. I left it yesterday morning and declared it dead. Today I woke up, switched my computer on and plugged it in using a different USB cable and the driver was automatically installed as "MTK preloader". I didn't try to switch the device on yet though, as I wasn't sure if it being recognized was by chance. I didn't ask questions. I just immediately started up the flash tool, hit "download" and re-plugged the USB cable. This time the software finished upload with 100% and a green circle. Then it automatically disconnected from the computer. I hit the power button and it needed some time to charge again (maybe it drained itself last time). A few minutes later the OS booted completely fine. I don't know which one of those things made it worked, the new USB cable or leaving it to discharge for a day.. I just don't know. I'm not taking any chances though, the USB cable is being binned.
Have you flashed the CWM recovery for the px2 yet?
What do you think about the new firmware? I think its alot snappier than the old one. The CWM recovery works a treat (but you have no usb cable lol ) so you cant flash it. If you do want to put the recovery on it, let me know i can help. Cheers
PX2 Bricked

How long does the flashing actually take ?
When I connected it again this morning it it reconised it and the flash toll started to work.

Now its bricked again :crying:
Any advice guys please ?
Reset
Hi mate sorry to here of your problems. Try pressing the little button between the sim slots, if that doesnt work, press volume + and then power button and keep pressed until it starts. When you flashed it did you get the green circle at the end?
If you get it recognized again do this: ENSURE YOU HAVE FULL BATTERY AND DO NOT INTERUPT THE FLASHING
1/ Start tablet and connect usb data cable, ensure it is connected as Media device (MTP).
2/ Unpack PX2_PC_24-10-13 update to a folder of your choice.
3/ Start Flash tool and click scatter loading on the right, and go to your unpacked folder you made earlier and select MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc check ALL boxes at the bottom are selected.
4/ Now click on downlod button, then switch off tablet. It will either ask to load drivers or start the flashing process.Wait until you see the green circle.
5/ Restart tablet. ENJOY
If you want to put clockwork recovery on it do the following:
1/ Download Freelander_PX2_130717_CWM_recovery.img in post #162 at pandawill put it in a folder and copy MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc from the folder above to the same folder.
2/ Start tablet and connect usb data cable, ensure it is connected as Media device (MTP).
3/ Start Flash tool and click scatter loading on the right, and go to your Freelander_PX2_130717_CWM_recovery.img folder you made earlier and select MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc only recovery option should be checked. Dont worry about the red writing.
4/ Click download and switch off tablet, dont worry about the warning just go ahead anyway, it will only take a couple of seconds and you should see the green circle again.
5/ To check it worked press vol+ and power button to get to recovery ( should be blue text ) if it is congrats you have clockwork recovery.
6/ Enjoy your tablet
Hi,
Thanks for your help but I fear it may be terminal,as when I plug the usb in now I get nothing.
gonna try on a different computor later.
If that fails I fear my PX2 will be leaving via the upstairs window

Well it wont even charge now !
I wonder if this could mean a hardware problem or a software not sure ?
Any Ideas guys ?

PX2 revival
Hi bazza500, try pressing the reset button between the sim slots it has saved me a couple of times when i thought i had bricked mine.
If you go to the pandawill forum under MTK tablets you will find a thread there dealing with an updated by users flashable firmware with cwm recovery.
Then later if you get it up and running there is a solution to extend the internal memory from 1Gb to 2Gb which reduces the storage by 1Gb. Hope you get it running buddy. Cheers
A few tips
Windows 7 has a glitch where by if the path has Chinese characters in it the flash tool with crash/error. Extract everything to your desktop and delete the chinese characters in the folder names.
Also there's a driver error in Windows 7. Make sure you use the driver install tool to install the MTK drivers. Also make sure the driver is installed and the tablet is recognised before you run the flash tool. That's the error I made, I tried to get the drivers installed whilst running the flash tool and the firmware started flashing when I hadn't realized.
Unlike Samsung and Apple, most Chinese devices don't give you a fancy progress bar on the device. There's almost no feedback the tablet or phone being flashed in most cases.
Thanks for the help guys................
Got my replacement today but have hooked it up to updrade and there was about 3 x colours went to 100% on progress bar now nothing for 15 mins !
Is this normal ?
Well a massive fail again.
Gonna send thos one back and get my money back.

Ok been awhile but I now have a new one and managed to upgrade the rom.
Only one problem I keep losing phone signal ?
Any ideas?

My phone won't go past the LG symbol. Need help thank you =)

I rooted my phone awhile back but decided to finally try and get the storage problem fixed by looking up information on how to use the external sd card. I used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2108775 and followed instructions to swap the internal sd card with the external one. When I followed the steps and looked up how to do link2sd card using these instructions... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2126363 and did the swapper 2 part it said fail on one part so I decided to restart my phone. Now the phone won't go past the LG symbol and keeps restarting after a few seconds. I can't access the clockword mod with the power+volume down+home button... what should I do. It's been doing this for an hour or so. Thank you. Ps I tried plugging in the usb to my computer but it won't even load up the driver because it keeps restarting after a few seconds at LG symbol.
I can get to the s/w mode but when i try n follow to update with a factory settings via usb it wont read past connecting usb. it keeps resetting during the check. it also says this on the https program

You should try the online restore method (the offline method which was done for ICS has some issues with JB) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40423549&postcount=2
Before this "long" solution, maybe you could try to reinstall your recovery through fastboot.
Also try a hard reset and enter s/w mode with the battery out until it stays on s/w mode for a few seconds then pop it back in.

I've tried both but the problem is it won't read the usb for some reason. it'll stop half way on connecting to check the phone. is it possible to kill the usb driver for the phone by any chance? I've tried two different wires n different usb ports. I think theres something wrong with the communication between the usb and the phone.
Edit: I can't enter S/w without the battery
