Error 15 menu.lst not found - Remix OS for PC

When Remix OS Beta launched a day ago, i tried installing to my hard drive and get this:
Code:
find --set-root --ignore-floppies /menu.lst
error 15:File Not Found
Press any key to continue . . .
My PC Specs are:
HP Pavilion G7-1338DX
Intel Core i3-2350M (2nd gen Sandy Bridge)
8 GB RAM
Intel HD Graphics 3000
Windows 8.1 Pro
If possible, please find a method to fix. I really enjoyed Remix OS until this happened. And I don't want it installed on my flash drive because of it's speeds.

I use the old USB installation method with new beta .ISO on USB flash drive and copy to hard-disk .then Use easyBCD to add remix boot menu... Work fine now.

I Cant install or Run Remix OS 2 BETA on my PC!!!

Hello everyone,
I am having trouble with the new version of Remix OS 2 Beta.
I am running a 64 bit machine, and downloaded the correct version. I used the installation tool (not the original usb tool, but the one that allows you to install to the C drive) and it appeared that everything was installed correctly "BUT". When i boot i get the two options (Windows 10, Remix OS). I choose the Remix OS option, and it gives me an error (remixos/kernel error). So, i did some research and it says that the os might not recognize that i have a 64 bit machine. I then proceeded with the same installation but 32 bit this time since it should allow me to use that version if i have a 64 bit machine right? It allows me to boot, but then stays in limbo on the ASUS boot screen until i restart. any suggestions.
Have the same exact issue. Are you booting with legacy or efi

Are you talking about a USB in fat32 or a hard drive partition? Tried converting both to fat to no avail on an EFI system

Take the intrid.img from the Android x86 project of 5.1.1 and replace that on the usb before install. Worked for me. Rinning Beta 64bit now wheni could only run 32bit before.

Run it off the USB. When option comes for resident or guest hit tab and add to the line (or e for edit) INSTALL=1
I have a 64 bit machine and it installed fine. I don't think I had to change any setting from the installer. Wouldn't work with the alpha but the beta installed and booted right up. When it was installing there was like an 8 minute timeframe where it seemed it wasn't doing anything and my monitor (an hd tv) was getting no signal but I just let it keep running and finally it came back on and it booted right up. I installed to the harddrive also btw.
Thank you all for your feed back. I will try some of your suggestions in the morning. I didn't think I would get a response this fast haha. Thanks again for now.

I tried both ways and and with efi just got the kernel issue. It seems that everything installed correctly but when I choose remix OS it tries to boot and I get the remixos/kernel error
This sounds exactly the same issue than I have with Dell Venue 11 pro (7140). It has Windows 10 installed and secure boot is disabled in BIOS. I can select Remix OS in boot menu but then the following errors are displayed Remix OS doesn't start:
error: 'ntfs' is already loaded.
error: 'exfat' is already loaded.
error: no such device: /RemixOS/kernel.
error: file '/RemixOS/kernel' not found.
error: you need to load the kernel first.

Yes this is my issue exactly. I hope this is only a minor bug, because I realise we are still in beta and all devices won't work the same. Please is there anyone who can help us with this???

My Surface Pro 3 has this same issue no matter where I install Remix, kernel error.
I'm a dumbass, forgot to turn off secure boot.
Installed to hard disk, disabled secure boot and just boots straight into window 10, pathetic

OK maybe this will work. I'll try it in the morning thanks for the tip.
So far nothing I have tried all of your guys suggestions and have had no luck. Maybe this version was released too early, because it seems like this is a major bug

If you would share some info with us, we might be able to provide a fix :
In Windows, open Run dialog. (Windows key pressed + r)
Type msinfo32 and enter.
You'll see a lot of information, please list the following :
1. System type
2. Processor
3. Bios mode
4. Platform Role
5. Secure boot state
6. Installed Physical Memory (Ram)
7. Total Physical Memory.
Also tell which version of beta you used. 32-bit or 64-bit?

Got the same problem. I don't get any errors, but currently I have Win10 32bit installed on NTFS harddrive Atom-based laptop. Downloaded and installed RemixOS BETA 64bit, rebooted and disabled secure boot, but when I choose RemixOS in boot manager it only boots into Windows. Any ideas?
1. X86-based PC
2. Atom CPU Z3736F
3. UEFI
4. Mobil
5. Off
6. 2GB
7. 1.93GB
I used 64-bit BETA

You have as 64-bit capable CPU, as detailed on http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Atom-Z3736F-Tablet-SoC.122214.0.html
So 64-bit beta should work for you. Don't know why 32-bit UEFI systems have this issue.
However I'll inform you as soon as I update my Grub2Win guide.

[QUESTION] Booting Remix OS BETA on a 32 bit LEGACY OS

I am not a computer expert but I have an old laptop sitting around that I would love to run Remix OS on but I'm still fuzzy with the process. It would be great id you guys could help me out. I have downloaded the 32 bit OS from the site and have it on a flash drive. My Laptop is running Windows 7 , Legacy Boot 32 bit and i want to run Remix OS from the hard drive itself.
1.
Do I just run the installation tool from the pen drive and it takes care of everything?
OR
Do I have to create a partition first under a hard drive and then run the installation tool and select the new partition?
2.
Is Remix OS working with 32 bit Legacy computers?

Hi
you could do it almost like installing windows
If you want to install as only OS you will need to boot from a USB (F8 or F12) with Remix pre-installed and do what in thread steps 1 and 4 and 5 and 6, and it should work
# Use provided .exe after extract file from step 1 to install Remix OS on USB
This may help

Click thanks if work!

Hello Thank you for replying , I tried your method and it restarted came to the boot menu but once i click on resident mode Remix os it says Kernel error: no such device: /RemixOS/kernel
grub did not find a boot partition with file /RemixOS/kernel ***
press any key to continue
Thank you for your help

HDD Installation won't boot, only OS on hard drive.

Here are my system basics:
ASUS M32CD
Intel Core i7-6700
NVIDIA GeForce GT730
Installation to hard drive was successful, and I can get to the grub menu. I get such at the Remix OS boot logo, and have let it go for an hour before a hard shutdown. I have tried setting it to use Intel graphics only, with same result and I have added androidboot.swrast=1 in grub.
I'm using the latest version on the official site. Guest mode from USB will boot. I known this system can run Linux, as I have Korora 24 on a separate hard drive (not hooked to the mother board at the same time).
they should really remake the installation process, i am only able to run remix os, on on of my computer. all running windows 10.

I refuse to run Windows. So if it takes installing Windows to run it, I guess I won't run it.

Choose hard drive and selected the remix os partition,,
Installed fines and when I reboot 2 options windows 10 and remix os...

Couldn't boot Remix OS couldn't boot / save setting when ran from HDD on HP 14 Notebo

Recently, I just installed Remix OS on my USB and it worked fine. Because of my USB port are bit unstable, I just trying to install Remix OS on my HDD (hd0,7). But, when trying to boot from Windows Boot Loader. It shows "minimal BASH-like command - - -" , i found a solution for this and bring me to the Remix Mode Options (Resident/Guest). I tried to boot Remix from any options but it only shows and stop at blinking kernel messages and error message
"intel_powerclamp: Intel powerclamp does not run on family 28 model 43
intel_rapl : driver does not support cpu family 28 model 43"
When booting from USB, it doesn't matter and it can continue booting to Remix, but it won't continue boot when ran from HDD from my HP 14 Notebook PC.
I have alternative by using my Ubuntu's Grub legacy and succesfully boot. but, it won't save any settings.
Please help me to resolve my problem.
Here's my Laptop Specifications:
CPU: AMD-A8 6410 2.0GHz
GPU: Onboard
RAM: 2GB, 1.71GB usable
Boot Mode: Legacy, Secure boot: OFF
Installed OSes: Windows 7, Windows 10, Ubuntu, Remix OS(unbootable).
N. B: sorry, bad english. I'm javanese

It seems you're booting into guest mode since nothing is being saved. How do you boot into Remix OS? I have an HP laptop too and press F9 as the laptop boots which then allows me to boot using the EFI file. That's the only way I can boot into it as the dual-boot screen doesn't appear automatically. You have quite a bit of software installed for a machine with only 2GB of RAM in total but I don't think that's your problem. Have you installed it onto a separate partition or installed it into the Windows drive in a folder? I made a new partition of 32GB, gave it a random letter for the drive, and it boots fine to that as long as I press F9 immediately on boot (repeatedly) until the boot loader menu comes up and I choose the EFI file to boot from, and eventually after that using grub.
All HP machines have the same F9 function key which will pull up the boot menu. Try that and see if you have the option to boot from EFI or EFIx64 depending on your system. I don't know why it's not saving anything from your sessions unless it is a lack of RAM/virtual memory space. I wasn't even aware there was a guest mode if you installed to hdd (so maybe there isn't). You could try to produce a logcat of what is happening as you boot and especially as you shut down to find out why it's not holding anything from your sessions in memory. I have 8GB of RAM in my laptop but as far as I know Remix OS only gets to use a fraction of that (about 2GB) so if you're only using a 2GB RAM in total laptop with several OS already installed on it you were bound to hit problems sooner or later as you add more, but whether that's related to your current problem I wouldn't know.
Well, I guess it was my fault because of using Linux-created Partition more than using Windows one. Maybe I'll try using windows-created partition, Thanks for your reply.
EDIT: It doesn't work, I tried to install it on 9 Laptops with 7 Models for 5 Manufactures (My friends are Remix Anthusiast you know) and only 2 Models have same problem with me. My Conclusion is that my Laptop model aren't supported yet to boot RemixOS from HDD.
