I am running Remix Beta on an HP Mini from a USB stick. I have Ubuntu 15.04 installed on the Mini if that matters for troubleshooting. It seems most things run fine, I have wife and the built in cam works. My issue is I can't add an account. When I try I select "+add account", it flashes like it is going to the next step, but just reloads the same page where I can select "+Add Account". Is it because I have not installed GPS yet?
Probably. You can't add a Google Account without Google Play Services.

Hello all,
It seems that as of late I've been having more apps in the market displaying the yellow Your device is not compatible with this item banner on apps I know I should be able to run no problem on the gTablet, like GO Weather, Hootsuite and Facebook.
I never had this before - it's only been happening in the last 3 weeks. Is there an easy fix?
Same here. Running c + c v7.
I'm running C + C v8. There are many apps that fail to appear for me in the Market even though I know that they work. Zeam launcher is one of them. I don't understand how my G Tablet with this ROM identifies itself to the Market. For a while, I was running Vegan-Tab 7, and I didn't have this problem with apps not appearing in the Market.
Also, when I log into the Market using my computer and check my devices, I don't have any devices at all associated with my account. I also have a Nook Color running CM 7.1, and a separate account for it. It is listed as associated with that account.
I can't find a definitive answer to this. My understanding of CM is Gapps need to be installed in order to get market, maps, etc... I installed CM7 on my touchpad today. Everything went very smooth. I never installed gapps. After the initial boot up it took me through the gmail account setup. After that was done it downloaded all of the apps I currently have installed on my phone from the market to my touchpad? Now the part that confuses me. When I uninstall an app from my touchpad, it also uninstalls it from my phone? Is there an option to stop this somehow? If it makes any difference I'm using a rooted HTC Thunderbolt, running a sensed Rom.
Ok after thinking about my question and reading more. I am not completely familiar with ACMEinstaller. I got to thinking that the installer reads what I placed in the cminstall folder and installs all of the .zip files I placed in it? If that is true, I did install gapps inadvertently, I planned on seeing what the device looked like without before I installed it. I was going to go back to the recovery and install it after I familiarized myself with CM a bit. Either way, if I did install gapps, is it possible to unlink these apps from the apps currently installed on my phone, or should I just make an extra gmail account specifically for my touchpad?
They actually shouldn't be linked as far as my knowledge. Even if you have back up this device with google account selected. I have that on both my devices Atrix on CM 2.3 and my Touchpad. I have not experienced what you have. I will look into it some but someone might know something exact before i reply
I thought it was odd. I uninstalled an app that was of no significance on the touchpad. Restarted my phone and it disappeared from my phone to?
I've been having like the same issue, if I go to the android market on the browser and check the devices assosiated to my account, it does not show my tp just my phones. Has anyone found a solution for this?? if somebody has, please share it... Thanks
If you hit menu button - settings - accounts you can click on your gmail account and unselect syncing.
I think that might do the trick with it syncing with your phone.
Or if all else fails, just create a new gmail account specific for the TP.
Has anyone been able to get Lotus Notes Traveler to work on their Nook Tablet? I have rooted via sd card, still running stock.
I have the installer apk and traveler apk. They install correctly. When I get to the set-up, I can get the first set correct and it connects to the server, but then it prompts me another page that doesn't seem to have all the information displaying correctly. It just shows two places where I can check boxes and then below that it has two radio buttons you can select. It seems like there should be text next to them, but there isn't. I've tried all combos of selections here, even though I don't know what they are, and I get internal error 500 when I click the Finish button.
I finally got it to work, but not with the same configuration. I ended up loading CM7 via sdcard. Now with CM7 running, I installed the same apk, and mid-way through, I was prompted to install another apk. I was able to see all the options and settings like I should. It's synced up and running like a champ so far.
So, I ended up installing the lotus installer apk, then it prompted me to download/install the lotus traveler apk, then it asked to activate the lotus security admin package(which I accepted).

I have been messing with different ROMs recently and have been installing many different ones to see which I like best. CM7 is hands down my favorite, so I installed and tried to use it. Everything on it works perfectly fine except I can't connect to the google server when I try to add an account. When I try to connect using the add account button in the settings menu, it will attempt to connect for about a minute before changing to a server settings screen, which will then lead to a "cannot connect to server" error message.
I have obviously installed Gapps, I have tried to both factory reset and completely re install but no dice. I can connect to my google account using the browser, and can get onto the Google Play store on the browser as well and see all of my account information, but can't connect using the add account button. I know it's possible to connect because I have done it before using the exact same CM7 installation.
Has anyone else had a similar issue, and if so, how did you fix it?
It could be the wifi bug on the device. I get the same issue on my SGP that is currently running CM10 right now. Its a notorious bug on the device itself.

I am considering buying a Samsung Chromebook 3 which based on the following link can support Android apps. Now, the issue is that it says that one must do a file system or profile migration in order to support the apps. However, I cannot find any information on how to do this migration. Google has instructions for Education and Enterprise customers but nothing for regular consumer.
How do I do this? I, of course, Googled how to do this and I end up with nothing. I need to know how I can install the Google Play store and run Android apps. I have instructions on how to install Google Play but nothing on the migration that according to Google is required.
Please help!
I have a Chromebook 3 and am running Android apps with no issue. It's fairly simple to do and now only requires the steps here: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/get-android-apps-on-your-chromebook in a nutshell, this simply involves first open settings -> select about > under or around the "check for updates" button, click the "More info" link. An option will be presented to change to the beta channel. Select that and wait for the update to download and install (in my experience, the beta channel is way better than the stable channel anyway). After you restart, go right back to Settings, and scroll down until you see the checkbox for enabling the Google Play Store. Agree and sign in using your Google account. That's it. I've enjoyed using many Play Store apps seamlessly on the Samsung Chromebook 3.
Solution found
After half an hour on Google chat and Asus I got an answer. Very simple.
1) Click on your user picture in the lower right
2) Click the Settings cog
3) Scroll down to the easily missed "google play store" section. It's the seventh section down on mine and is only a single line section.
4) Click on "turn on"
Then just wait for it to do it's thing. It will take a minute or two and then will launch the Google Play Store app. Mine came up and said it wasn't responding but I clicked on "wait" and it popped up about 5 seconds later. I was able to install 2 "android" apps right off the bat. Super easy and quick. I hope this helps others searching for this answer.
Incidentally...if you don't have a touch screen Chromebook it seems that the arrow keys do your swyping for you in android apps. Kind of counter-intuitive though...I had to use the right arrow to "swype" LEFT. But it wasn't too difficult to figure out.
