The HTC Sense 4 Aroma theme doesn't have an icon in between Back and Next.
This icon brings up the About box and exits the Aroma Installer.
I noticed that in other themes it is called icon.menu.png, however, if I just copy this file into the Sense theme dir it still doesn't appear.
Is there a guide listing all possible filenames for icons and what the theme.prop should contain?

I have extracted all of the files and found the images for the icons that come with the launcher and I'm wondering how I can replace them with ones I have edited in photoshop...
I have modified them and tried placing them on my sd card then selecting them from "custom icon" but they wont show up full size like the stock icons do when I select one from "LauncherPro Icons".
Any help would be appreciated!
I don't know how to make a perfect Sense dock button replacement. Not even searching around on launcherpro.com/forum or lpsense.allo-mobile.fr/ made anything very clear.
In the meantime, for a custom icon, I've tried using a 640x480 transparent canvas with an ~350x350 icon in the bottom right hand corner of that canvas, exporting to png.
This seems to at least get the desired icon somewhat properly sized and centered in its dock area. Definitely not perfect though.
Editing your icons
Download Apk Manager 5.0 from xda developers website or search at google (apk manager 5.0 zip and you will find mediafire link), and try to edit the apk with it, first extract then edit the images then zip it then sign it, now uninstall previous apk and install new one(it was unable to overwrite the apk but installed after uninstalled the original).
All images are changed will create a new style sense ui using apk manager.
So if I make a custom theme in UOT kitchen, I can just make it a theme to use in Theme Chooser?
Do I still have to flash anything in Recovery?
And I thought boot animations couldn't be changed with a Theme Chooser theme...
Edit: OK so I got the zip, and does appear that yes I need to flash it, since its more than just an .apk. But is all of the mods done in Theme Chooser or are some independent (ex. boot animation).
Also, read somewhere else that flashing a new ROM build won't undo the custom mods. True?
Edit 2: "This theme was improperly compiled and cannot be applied. Please report this incident to the theme author"
There something special we have to do out of the norm?

You can technically make a theme Chooser APk. But it never worked for me. I had to use the zip way. And had to use every workaround to get it to work. Its true that it does modify things other than theme Chooser files. But flashing a new rom wipes everything.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
You can pull the .apk out of the zip file and apply it using theme chooser.
I have had the best success using the empty theme apk available from the UOT site, just make sure you uncheck the "Theme chooser preview" box on the upload tab and choose CM7 theme.
It won't apply the boot animation, but you can also extract the bootanimation.zip and apply the boot animation through romtools.

Even with 'theme chooser preview' it still fails for me. did a straight .zip from files and most all works. Did battery, animation, and font fine. Icons didn't seem to take however
Edit: Scratch that, icons took too. Just had to undo the 'Bionic Blue' theme and go back to 'System'
Im just wondering and am trying to build my first theme now. thanks
What exactly are you trying to do?
The SystemUI.apk holds a lot of elements for a theme. Themes for notifications and statusbar icons are in the SystemUI.apk. The other main files to theme are framework-res.apk and com.htc.resources.apk.
(You need these 3 if you are going to do a theme in uot kitchen)
haha no i mean like an HTC sense theme.. like the skins
oh the skins can be both a system (the built in skins) and data apps (ones downloaded from the market).
Is that what you meant?
yea so if i install it from an APK then its not concitered a system APK correct? so when i am asked if i want to retain signature or re-sign i should resign it right?
are you doing the theme on one of the stock ones I think its bluesky.apk or burgandy.apk? if so, they are system so then you will want to retain it. If you changed the name and manifest to reflect your own named apk, then yes resign it.
hi,
sadly i don't get it done to download and copy a miui locker theme on my phone and apply it...
i already read a lot about miuilocker, how to apply local themes, edit/translate themes etc.
basically it's like this:
1. Download Theme
2. IF *.mtz file copy on your phone to MIUI/Themes <- my folder is called "theme" but I find all my downloaded (over miui online) themes in it, so it should be the right one.
3. open MiLocker
4. go to Local Tab an select theme
sadly i NEVER find the theme i just copied in the "local" list
in some guides it says you have to click "edit theme", in my version of milocker there is nothing like that so i just assume thats for an older version of milocker.
i also tried translating a theme ( http://androidforums.com/android-themes/469539-how-miui-milocker-theming-customization.html )
i apply all the steps on pc, replace all chinese letters with english ones, save everything again as zip (no compression) and rename them to what ever needed.
on my phone there STILL are chinese signs...
now if i copy the theme again from my phone and extract it and look into the manifest.xml there are MY LETTERS, no chinese at all, still the screen on my phone shows chinese letters..........
i own a Moto G 8GB Stock Rom, nothing changed.
would be nice if someone can help me!

I have exactly same problem and would love if someone find solution to it or how to apply custom lockscreens from mtz file
you would have to install mihome or miui home launcher go to themes and upgrades and click refresh and on mi locker themes youll see the themes you installed manually
First of all the pre requirements are :
You should have a marshmallow running device in this case i have
non root samsung galaxy j7 2016.
You need to have 2 different themes of your choice either paid or frre .
You can apply a theme you want which you can easily download from theme store. After downloading backup the theme components, next you download the theme from which you want your appicons, backup this theme components also.
Now the theme that u have applied , open it's component thst is various apk's inside it such as home, appicon etc. Copy the name which appicon apk uses.
Now using apk editor pro open the appicon apk of the theme you want to have icons of, open it full edit as we need to edit it's manifest. After opening it go to manifests 2nd line from top and clivk on it in package line erase the present name and paste the nane you previously copied from another theme.
Now build the apk and install by first removing the previous installed apk and then install the latest build.
Now reapply the theme and restart your device you will have your loving theme but the icons will be of the other theme which you wanted.
Thank you
