Hi guys,
my mother has a Moto E 2014 running stock kitkat and it does its job. Since lollipop update on my old Moto G 2014 decreased significantly its performances, is it worth it uploading the Moto E, or should I stick to kitkat?
Which ROM you are using?
Stick to kitkat I'll say, if you're planning on to use official firmware. (I'll suggest not to update to lollipop officialy because of the storage issues)
Rather if you may want to try lollipop then there are many lollipop based ROMs on here xda.
Try any of them, they are good and you'll like it over stock kitkat.
I'm on stock KitKat, I want the most stable and reliable experience since my mom is using this phone and she's definitely not a tech savvy I guess I'll stick to it

Hi guys so I just purchased a tab e, seems to only run 4.4.4. . I was wonder is there a generic vanilla lollipop or marshmallow Rom I could flash? I'm trying to get away from the bloated samsung version currently on thendevice and also want to use the new features of 5 onwards.
I know they finally got the device rooted a few weeks ago - whichninhave not done yet, but i cant find a rom anywhere online for the device or else what would I need to do to create a vanilla rom of lollipop or marshmellow to flash onto it

I don't think there are any downloadable lollipop roms on this forum aside from maybe a debloated stock rom and if you can find the original cm 12 bring up unfortunately

I have had no problems with speed tbh, it's not the fastest device but def more than usable with custom roms. The nougat roms all run smoother than the marshmallow ones though. I've flashed quite a few of the nougat roms and have had no performance issues with any of them. Even the marshmallow ones had no issues for me.
It should run smoothly on first boot (ie with clean flash and with a clean cache/dalvik)
You can also experiment with using a custom kernel and tweaking the settings to get more performance out of your device if you want
I think moto e is built for kitkat.
And its best performance is On kitkat also.
Just a little request to devs
To make new rom kitkat based with new feature and smoothness, we dont use kitkat coz its little
Non-material and old style just
Make it
