Freezing, not wiping, not flashing.. idk what's wrong - HTC One Max

Hi XDA community,
i'm not new to flashing/wiping recoveries and ROMS, i had htc one X and M7 and nothing at all went wrong back in the days. However, i got my friends phone, htc one MAX t6ul, i unlocked it ( went well ) rooted it ( went well also ) and he wanted a ROM, so i downloaded 2 roms, Y8 Sense 7 and CM 12.1 - 5.1.1 .. alright so, i flashed first rom ( after i flashed TWRP 3.0.0 successfully ) and everythign went well and smooth untill suddenly after 2 days , the phone froze on calls and music playing etc.. or just rebooted by itself, so now im trying to reflash the rom.. first i tried to wipe from TWRP ( everything, Data , cache, dalvik and system ) but nothing is happening, NOT AT ALL. it says in the log successfully wiped but all the files and system and rom is still there , i tried to erase cache from fastboot and nothing happened. i tried to use the format data ( not advanced wipe from twrp ) and also nothing was formated.. so , i downloaded CM to flash it , but it always gave error 7 , i checked that error and it was soemthing related to updater-script.. tried the fixing methods but also nothing worked. I tried backing up the rom and flashing it again but at the middle of the process twrp reboots the phone and everything goes again. I'm frustrated, can anyone help me ?
Thanks in advance.

Which TWRP recovery are you using? Have you tried to install TWRP 3.0.0-0 univ ( http://flyhalf205.com/recoveries/twr...0-0-t6univ.img )?
Much better try to visit this thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498746 ) for more info about TWRP

Can't format /data partition in any of the Recoveries

So here is what I did and got into some serious trouble
I wanted to try MagioRom so flashed it over the Insertcoin without wiping the /data partition
and from the fastboot I flashed the boot.img too but it didn't boot stuck on splash screen
forced shutdown by holding the power button and decided to do full wipe
but everytime i click wipe data/reset on CWM it rebooted tried twrp too no good did the same endless reboot
Nandroid backup failed me saying MD5 check failed
Installed carbon rom without any reboot and flashed the boot.img corresponding to that
it reached the carbon boot animation and again the reboot started
finally had to format the data(Internal Storage) from TWRP to get it all sorted
after formatting the installation went smooth and booted without any issues
here is the question WTF did I do wrong.....and what really happened........????????

I tried responding to your PM, but you seem to have PMs disabled so difficult to answer.
As I mentioned (tried), I have no idea about the X+, so I can't really help sorry.

regardless some "issues" like yours (which i had on my N5) are resolved by nuking data/userdata

xpirt miui v5

Hi there!
I've recently flashed xpirt's unofficial port of MIUI v5. However, I'm not seeing any MIUI elements in my phone except 2 apps (which do not work). They are MiCloud and MiCredits. Other than those apps, my phone is pretty much a sensed based phone after flashing the phone.
Each time the phone boots up, a pop up will appear saying : Unfortunately, Xiaomi service framework has stopped. Same thing happens when i try to start the two related apps.
My order of flashing
Format /data
Format /cache
Format /system
Format /delvikcache
flash xpirt miui v5 #1
(at this point I repeated steps 1,2 & 4 after multiple failed attempts to get my miui working)
flash xpirt miui v5 #2
reboot
Did i flash it wrongly?
I have a working CWM recovery already.
Any help is appreciated!! My phone is in working condition even without the miui theme, but meh, wouldn't i just return to the stock rom?
Did a lot of work just to get my JB version on DX too! :crying:
Android 4.1.1
Hboot 1.25
fulmix.Kernel #2
Tried searching for any similar issues faced but seems like I'm the only one facing the issue.
Not even sure if it's supposed to be how it is... not enough screenshots around from other users to show what I should see upon starting up.
You have a wrong CWM recovery for JB hboot.
Use TWRP recovery for JB
Thanks!

Wow, that works for me! Thanks! :good::good:
I have the exact same problem
Hboot 1.25
unlocked with WinDroid HTC Desire X Toolkit v3.0
tried flashing the rom with the included TWRP and CWM.
phone boots, i get the error "xiaomi framework stopped" and the two mentioned apps.
flash order like aarontanws
do i need superuser before i flash the rom?
any other suggestions?
cheers
I'm not sure if the Windroid Tool checks your hboot and matches the right TWRP version. I for myself use TWRP 2.6.3.0 on JB hboot, works perfectly for me. You can also use PhilZ Touch if you want, but be sure to choose the JB version. Given that, flash the recoveries manually via fastboot, perform a full wipe, install the first package along with the second one.
TWRP 2.6.3.0 here.
I get an Error when I try wiping the dalvik cache.
flashed TWRP 2.5.0.0 via command line
no Error wiping dalvik + flashes MIUI successfully

Best tip I can give you, don't use a toolkit. Do everything manually

Can´t flash any ROM?? Stucking at Bootlogo...

Hello guys,
I wanted to flash Cyanogen 13.0 on my OPX. I followed the instructions on the Cyanogen-Downloadsite, but after flashing with TWRP I always stucking at the bootlogo....
I waited more than 30 min, but nothing happens... While flashing I get no errors or warnings.... It seems to be alright...
Then I tried another Marshmallow ROM, but I get always the same issue...
Thank you in adavance!
need more info dude, what rom were you before the issue presented itself ? recovery version ? data, cache & system formatted to which filesystem ? what did you wipe ? what all did you flash with or after the rom ?
hi
asuming u have opened bootloader and have installed twrp this is what i do
1.put the rom and gapps on the root of the phone storage
2. factory/data rest in twrp
3.flash rom via twrp
4.clean chache/delvi
5.flash gaaps
6.clean cache/delvi again
reboot system and im good to go try this do a full flash the way i have mentioned dont do a dirty flash
im sure u will succeed good luck
If you didn't unlock the bootloader then it will not boot anything other than the stock OS.

Cannot Flash Rom / Restore - Error 7, Error 1001, Cannot mount System

Hey everybody,
I was on LOS 15.1 for a rather long time and I wanted to try RR, so as usual I backed up my system and tried to flash the RR-rom.
It did not work at all and I got several errors among which error 7 and the unability to mount system partition were the most prominent.
The device got bricked several times but I got it back to life with MiFlashTool, running either MIUI 8.5 or MIUI 9.
The strange thing is that even after flashing the MIUI-img - and basically bringing the device back to its factory firmware - I could not flash a rom.
I tried several recoverys; the latest TWRP, the TWRP linked in the LOS15.1 thread and OrangeFoxRecovery. None of them would work. I wiped all partition, nothing worked. I got different errors shown, most of them were error 7 or not being ablke to mount system, as stated before.
Right now I am back to MIUI and rooted it, which worked from OrangeFox, but I actually would like tzo run a custom rom again.
Any idea what I could do?
Cheers!
Noone who has an idea why it would not work?
I thought that after flashing via Flashtool the phone would be as good as new and all prioir changes would be gone? Wha can I not flash anything via recovery and get erros?
Or are there different versions of Orange Fox Recovery? RR would be treble, so I would need a treble recovery.
Cheers!
Have you tried to format internal storage?
If not backup data in sdcard or pc and format it using recovery.
Are you using trble supported recoveries?
Did you encrypted your data while using Lineage OS?
Hey,
well, yes, I encrypted data but since reinstalling MIUI via Flashtool this is gone. And I thought that this should be enough and reflashing it via MiFlash is like a factory reset? Is there anything I did not consider?
After Flashtool did not do the trick, wiped everything but External memory in TWRP, no kelp either.
I also did the normal wipe (where you dont have to choose which partition), this did not help.
As I said, I am currently on the latest OrangeFox Recovery but I also tried the latest TWRP and the TWRP in the LOS 15.1-Thread, which did not help.
To my knowledge all of the are treble recoverys?
I also tried to restore a vackup of LOS which did not work...
I flashed

When you reply quote, I didn't get notifications for your reply.
Your bootloader is unlocked and you installed Twrp recovery.
Try copying Rom zip to SD card and wipe system, data, cache, dalviks cache, internal storage (exclude sd card off course). Then install it.
It should work
As I said, I did all of this, yet it does not work.
After wiping I tried to flash RR rom...
I get "Patching system image unconditionally...
Then I get E1001: Failed to update system image. (in white)
Updater process ended with: ERROR 7 (in red)
Error installing zip file 'patch...' (in red)
Updating partition details (in white)
Failed to mount '/system' (Invalid Argument) (in red).
As I said, that happens with different recoverys and different roms (treble and non treble)

Are you sure the Rom you installating is for your device because error 7 occured if the rom you are trying install is not for your device.
Yes, of course, it was the correct ROM. Before error 7 I got error 1001 and I guess this was the initial problem.
My guess it that the problem was the decrypted partition which I did not format in twrp in my first go. Every wipe and format afterwards somehow did not help...
Now after having flashed recovery and different roms 10 times and using miflash 10 times it worked and now I am on RR. Don't ask me what eventually did the trick.

Great to know
I hated MIUI because of the bloatware and ads. Have fun using RR. If you want you can use Liquid Remix Pie its a great ROM.
Yes. I also did not like MIUI that much, that's why I was using Lineage before I wanted to try RR: Thanks for the advice for anothe rom.
i fix this issue by format data, not only wipe then restart the recovery and install the ROM, then finally it works !

If I format data, then I have to reboot into the recovery menu to be able to use data again. But this is impossible, because it gets stuck into the bootloop every time I try to reboot. Any other option to fix this error?
EDIT:
I could fix it myself:
1. MIUI latest version; flash with MiFlash.
2. flash TWRP with e.g. YUware
3. flash latest fw_vendor in TWRP
4. full update pixel expierence (NOT incremental) rom flash
5. Partitions/Data/Format
6. Reboot and ready to use
