Hey guys, so I've gotten myself out of boot loops before but this time I need one of ya'lls superior minds to help me out, if ya'll got the time.
I'm running a rooted, bootloader-unlocked HTC One M8 (TWRP recovery, custom ROM) that I've been using the past couple months with only some battery issues. Yesterday at work, my phone turned off for no reason, and every time I turned it on, it would turn off after reaching the boot logo. Low battery, no biggie. I got home and plugged it in, but this time it would just stay on the HTC One logo.
Wearily, I decided to do a factory reset, but after still no luck, I tried an advanced wipe (cache, data, internal storage [not system]) and took out my SD card, but nothing new yet. While searching for this problem, I came up on a lot of threads saying the factory reset didn't wipe anything from their phone, could this be a possibility?
Is there something I haven't done (or done wrong), or is there any way to fix this without using an RUU?
Bump; I tried to use the RUU I used before, but it got stuck at 28% and after searching for the problem, deemed it safe to terminate the application and start anew, but now my phone can't boot to recovery and just keeps turning on then off.
Halp?

Have been rooting Androids for a while and have been about to solve all my problems by doing research and finding the solution... first time i actaully am stumped...
I have a HTC EVO 4G LTE, second one i had the first the microphone went bad, i rooted it just like the last one and it was running fine. I deleted a few system apps such as sprint music, friend stream, tunein radio, and an HTC app. forget what that was. but now my, at work today, keep restarting randomly and died very quickly. when i finally got a chance to charge it, it hung on a boot loop and then entered the system about 45 minutes later. and then quickly reset back into the boot loop, i have at least 25% battery at this point. it continues to cycle through this for the next 4 hours. i tried to just shut the system off but after like 10 minutes it would start the boot loop again and since i work at radioshack trying to fix it there really wasn't an option. I did try to boot into twrp and do a factory reset how ever when i attempted to boot in it just froze at the HTC screen and then reset into the boot loop.
Once i got home i relocked the bootloader and did a hardreset... to no prevail... it continued to reset i even took my memory card and then that seemed to solve it... i put the back cover on without the memory card and it almost instantly reset and continued through the boot loop until i removed the back cover again. i don't know to much about the making of this back cover but it does seem to have three sensers to know it if it on or off, i am assuming... i tried installing stock recovery and taken off root. the only thing i haven't does is a completely stock OS reset through an ruu... and if i do that i am taking the phone back to sprint and getting another new one... does anyone have any ideas? and if this same thing is posted somewhere i am sorry, i have searched and tried everything i found and so far aside from the stock reset nothing has really worked. i factory reset from system, fastboot, and twrp (it loaded only once). I did relock the oem and did uninstall root. removed micro sd and formated internal memory. any other suggestions
i would just run RUU.. if it still giving u problems take it to sprint.. if u runn a RUU and it goes away just root it again start fresh.,. thats what i would do
Thanks EVO. I did end up running ruu and when it completed it started the boot loop again. Almost all night and ended up heating the phone up to the point I just booted into bootloader so it would stop. It continued this morning. But here's the part I wanna know... I pulled the back cover off for sh*ts and giggles and it booted right up. I am actually posting from it. I am afraid to put the back cover on...
Soo... I confirmed it was the back. I used the phone to post that. Made several calls to sprint and talked to ny mother... Phone was fine. Replaced back, phone froze and went into boot loop until the back cover was removed.... Why though?...
soo... it looks like i wont be needing any help with this phone... as it has completely died..... won't even try to power on. well sprint see you tomorrow at noon!
ok, here comes the story.
i know you guys hate when we open new forums, but this here is a topic that i have been dealing with since about 2 weeks ago.
also, i wanted to thank you all for your help, ever since than...
the problem started as i said, few weeks ago. i have an s2, i tried to install a rom, and an error occued. the problem was know that i needed to factory reset and wipe the data from the phone in order to boot the phone. this was not possible due to an internal error (i got sucked), later on, i also discover that the problem i faced was due to the partions inside my phone.so, i tried to fix the partions, but i was unable, until i found a thread here dealing with the same problem on Note 2. so after a lot of work, i was able to repartion my internal memory (lost 6 GB) to fix partions 9, and 10. once that was done i was able to wipe data and factory reset.the problem was now that i was unable to install any rom using odin except CM10 which stucked also at the end of the process. but luckily for me i was able to get into the recovery of CM10 and i installed from the restriction remix rom. after wiping and factory reset, i was finally able to boot successively into the home-screen.
now, my phone seams to have swamped the internal and external memories. in the build in device manager of rr-rom, i only see my memory card labeled as internal. but this is not the big deal. the real problem is that this phone constantly keeps on restarting itself from time to time. so, it shut down from alone, tries to boot up, gets stucked at the logo, reboots itself several time in the same way, until in finally boots successively,
any help??
ah, i just wanted to add a funny fact, which is that on the day i fixed my phone,i accidently dropped it in the toilet (it fall from my pocket, no bad ideas please, it was fully at random from alone). i manged to save it also at that day. so, i some got a feeling that this phone just don't want to get repaired
Reinstall stock rom and start from scratch.

Well I have seen some ridiculous generic topic titles in my time (like "Help" and "Help please" etc) but this topic with its complete lack of a title just takes the crown as the most idiotic.
Hello all....so I've got an issue with a friend of mine's HTC Rezound.
The thing, all of a sudden one day, wouldn't boot back into the OS. I either hangs at the HTC screen or it gets to the beats boot animation and hangs right there. No further. This was a stock phone. So far, I've been able to unlock the phone via HTCdevs.com, and install Amon Ra's recovery. Prior to this, hboot and fastboot were all I had. Recovery from stock wouldn't boot at all, and factory reset didn't do anything either. Custom recovery let me get in, to where I could flash an RUU or 2, and still, no luck. I've wiped the whole phone, and even reformatted all partitions, then installed 2 different RUU's on it, wiping both times before proceeding. I own a Gnex myself, so I'm no newb to flashing and things.
No matter what, the phone never will boot past the beats logo. Sometimes it only makes it to the start of the "b" curling up, sometimes it makes it to the circular "b" logo, sometimes just will sit at HTC before rebooting. Phone hasn't been wet, and was working fine, prior to this. Battery has been completely discharged as well. Tried booting without the back cover on, as if this were a network bootloop, but still same issue persists. Anybody got any ideas I can try? Considering I've tried different RUU's, and still can't get this thing to rock, wondering what could be causing it. Let me know, down below!
Bump
I got a GPE M7 which had a botched update to lollipop where there was an error and I have to restart the phone. Since then I was unable to make any voice calling as I could not hear anything and voice dialing can also make the phone lose its reception. To get the reception back I usually have to restart it several times.
After that, I lived with it for a while, the google support told me to wipe partition cache from the recovery screen but it did not help. The y say they are unable to help me anymore. I tried to unlock the bootloader so I could flash a new ROM. I went through all the steps to get my Unlock.bin until I send the command to unlock the phone at the fastboot screen, it won't go into the screen where the phone will ask you if you really want to unlock the bootloader. So the phone remained locked.
I tried to factory reset it but now it just get stuck in the bootup screen, where the swirling color bubbles are and it won't stop. The longest I have tried is to let it sit there overnight and it used up all the battery (fully charged) and rebooting it up is still in the swirling bubble screen.
I finally tried HTC support and they say I could try to flash their ROM on it. I went through all their steps to flash their ROM on it but it won't accept it. The ROM installer would reboot it from fastboot, with the HTC logo and when it tried to send the ROM over to the phone, it just crash (error 155) and went into recovery. Recovery said that if I can see the HTC logo, I should be able to flash the ROM again. So I did, and then this time it ssai I have less than 30% battery left (Error 120) and refuse to update it, even though I tried three times with fully charged battery (LED is green and plugged in for hours).
Now HTC support is just ignoring after they instruct me to factory reset it again and it just won't work. I don't know what else to do. I have been without a phone for two weeks and I can't really afford a new one right now.
My carrier is Tmobile.
I have had this device for a few months, bought it used in great shape. My daughter uses it and I fear she added something that is now causing the issues. The phone will shut off and begin boot looping, sometimes making it to the Verizon screen most of the time it doesn't. Eventually it will boot, sometimes it stays up a while, other times you can barely unlock before it reboots again.
Here are the steps I have tried.
1. Performed a factory reset
2. Performed another factory reset
3. Pulled the Sim and SD card, formatted the SD card and wiped it as well during another reset.
It is now in safe mode and has been on for a while. I looked around trying to find a factory 4.4.2 rom so I could reload it.
Is there something I am missing? Seems like a system file must be corrupt.
I'm on one trying to find custom Rom i have factory settings saved send me an email I'll send info
