Hi,
i got a used Galaxyplayer (intl) stuck in a forced download mode and i tried to get it functional. Any attemts to flash it result in a booting device but the touch screen is inverted vertically.
I tried several versions of cm, sock rom with repartition in Odin and Heimdall...
Any ideas how to fix it?

Ok after loads of reading, the solution was pretty simple...
The device is not a european one, but ypg1cw.
Thank to this thread

i was able to make this device a usable peace of hardware again.

EDIT: Go figure I look a bit more and found similar threads here and here.
I've been trying to find a thread on this but haven't been successful. Sorry in advance if there is one already.
I have the GT-P7510 wifi only tablet.
When I first got it I installed this kernel so I could overclock to 1.4ghz.
I wanted to try to see if would do 1.6ghz from here.
Thats when I had problems. When it booted the screen shows "Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" but before it shows the boot animation and shows "Samsung" again, the screen looks corrupt (See attachment). It will still boot and goes away after a few seconds.
If I try to install a new kernel again it boots however the screen is worse and will not go away even though the touchscreen works and I can press the soft keys.
I tried going to a nandroid backup I had but it still has the same problem.
I also tried to install the US stock retail wifi however cwm will not install it (I assume because I bought the tablet in Canada).
Has anyone had experience with this?
Reflashing new roms/kernels so far has not fixed it, I have tried a few.
Have you tried a stock rom via odin?
It seems that I have bricked my SGP 5.0 (US). It started with a bootloop problem, and after trying various methods discovered in the forums, I am now left with a SGP that refuses to show anything other than the yellow "Downloading" screen.
I've tried flashing it with Eryigit's ROM (as well as a supposedly stock ROM) using Odin. I get a PASS from Odin, but when it resets it just goes back to the download screen.
I've found similar threads, but so far they either 1) haven't worked or 2) have broken links for one or more of the files to be downloaded. If I'm missing one that would fix my situation, please point me in the right direction.
Is there anything I can do to make my player usable again?
Problem fixed!
Apparently I needed to reflash the bootloader, and it booted into recovery mode. After that, I chose the wipe/factory reset, rebooted, and voila!
Even though no one responded to this thread, thanks to all those who posted before, as I wouldn't have been able to revive it without those posts. (I'll thank your posts when I have a chance--busy setting up my SGP at the moment. )
U need flash "low" firmware, try this : http://narod.ru/disk/39324223001/CODE_G70XEKP2_CL642455_REV01_user_low_ship_HOME.tar.md5.html
Hi,
Usually, when I have a problem, I usually search for it and try to see if others have found a solution to it, but after hours of searching, I'm nearly at my wit's end.
I've had my Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 for a while now and I flashed it the first day I got it, with alice90's ROM found here.
In the beginning, the custom ROM worked fine, but after a while, my device started periodically crashing and rebooting seemingly randomly, but especially during times of heavy usage. After one of these episodes, my device just wouldn't boot up at all and was stuck at the Samsung loading screen. After searching around for a while, I found out how to enter Recovery Mode and tried to reset it to factory default that way. However, this had no effect on the problem and made it even worse, as the condition is as the same as before, but now I can't even enter Recovery Mode or Download Mode. I think that it is soft bricked, but can't be sure. Every time that I do try to boot it up, it stays stuck on the Samsung screen for a while then tries to restart.
The model is YP-GI1CB/XXA, if it helps.
Can it be restored at all, and if so, how? Thanks in advance for any answers.

The above is for international 4.2

I did this and tried to flash it with Odin to revert back to the stock ROM, but since my device can't go into Download Mode, Odin can't do anything. Is there a way to force it to go into Download Mode?

Could you describe a little more what your device is doing, like bootlooping or black screen and how you flashed it(did you put the rom in the pda section). Also you could try a usb jig to get in download mode.
Edit: Sorry I've just readed your first post and now I Know it's bootlooping. Wich way did you try to get into download mode?
If you want to force it in download mode remove battery then put back in and hold power and both volume buttons at the same time

ok so i was running 4.0.3 with no problem until i decided to update to 4.1.2, so after updated finished with no errors i booted the device
the galaxy s2 logo appears the BLACK SCREEN
no boot animation
what i have tried
return to 4.0.3
wipe data
use custom recovery that matches the os version
us custom recovery to format all the partitions
flash using pit file
different version of odin
and thats pretty much all
now even when i return to 4.0.3 it stil wont boot, please help
If the phone won't boot & PC/phone don't recognise each other in Odin, you're pretty much boned. Possibly JTAG, if not service centre (or local mobile shop if no warranty).
it goes into download mode, and recovery, and it boots up, but after the SGS2 logo i get a black screen on any firmware, even gingerbread
and i can still flash using odin and cwm
If it were me, I'd keep trying Odin flashes (even trying random stock roms); often in these situations the first 6 flashes don't work but the 15th actually fixes the problem (I'm using these numbers as an example) for whatever reason.
That's the only way you're fixing it, unless the NAND is borked, which you won't be able to fix. Try Hopper8's 'Odin won't work' thread, there's stuff in there which might help.

Hey this is exactly what happened to my phone, I flased stock 4.1.2, it was working fine but somehow freezing randomly. So I installed latest cwm hoping to fix the freezing problem, the boot animation won't show up after the logo, though I can hear from the speaker sound of the boot animation, and the screen won't seem like turning on (touch buttons not lighting up). Any luck on fixing this problem?
it turns out its was the usb data cable connector, surprised. i dont even know what one has to do with the other, anyways, i had it replaced and it works perfectly

Well I re-flashed the stock android 4.1.2 using odin, and everything got back to normal, the screen is working again. Though the phone is still freezing randomly, even after a couple of minutes after booting the phone. However I'm glad to get my phone with the screen working again!
Verizon Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G LTE (sch-i905)
So I got this tablet from a friend who said it was bricked, said I could have it if I got it working. So I plug it in and it turns on no problem, strange. wiped tablet and added a couple apps. Got busy at work and the tablet drain power. That's when I got to see it bricked, but still not sure why it booted for a bit for me.
Symptoms:
Boots to Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 splash screen (not the animated one after), sits there for ever.
Boots to Odin update mode
When booting to recovery I get a blank, back lit screen and nothing ever.
I've tried:
-Pushing clockwork mode to fix recovery
-I've had a hell of a time finding stock firmware for some reason (it isn't on sammobile), but I did find one eventually. I pushed it to the tablet via Odin, and it was successful, but rebooted to blank black back-lit screen. Have to hard boot and hold power buttun until I see the splash screen to get that far. I followed the guide on rootzwiki reposted on icsforums - www icsforums com/forum/showthread / 13525 (sorry new member can't post links)
-Followed another guide that involved draining battery completely, no go.
I don't care what firmware I end up on, or if I can use LTE (I won't anyway)
I'm a network engineer so I'm tech savy, but not heavy on Android OS. I'm looking for anything else I can try. I saw another method involving heimdall suite, but can't find the files for my model.
Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated.
@Juicebox4242
I had this problem on my gt-p7510...
What I ended up doing was wiping my sdcard..I must have had something corrupt in my file system or a kernel issue( still not sure which )..
Since you have no recovery..I think you can use odin to repartition ( I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH THAT THIS IS JUST A GUESS )..I have not tried it..but i will search after this post to confirm..I also believe there is a way using ADB..again not sure..
I just wanted to post this so you would know somebody was looking and to maybe give you a couple ideas to follow up on...I'll search around and see what I find
Edit...I believe ADB will only work with usb debugging checked...But you can flash a stock rom in odin with re-partition checked..you need a .pit file....I think...
Edit...Here is a link to a stock rom thread for you're device..It seems to have helped a couple people with their soft-bricked devices..just follow directions in OP..no repartition checked. I cant even find a .pit file to do a re-partition with for you're device..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342995 Let me know if this works for you..
Thanks for the post!! Really appreciate it.
That firmware is the one I found in the end and tried. Odin pushes it ok, but then still doesn't boot. In fact after pushing that firmware it boots to backlit blank screen, but when hard reset boots to splash screen.
I tried a pit file I found that I thought was the right one, but it failed when I used that so it must have been wrong.

I have the exact same problem as you, except sometimes I can't my tablet to boot. I know it is a software problem because before I was messing with recovery yesterday, everything was working just fine. All I wanted to do was restore to factory settings and instead ended up bricking the device... If you find / know the answer, please do share.

Did you ever get this fixed? I've had the same problem for months. I just gave up and put it away. I recently fixed a Galaxy Tab 2 and now I want to see if anyone else was able to fix this i905 not booting issue.
did anyone know the solution of this question
