Hi there, is anyone else experiencing a slightly flickering torch and has an idea how to fix this issue?

I'm experiencing it too, I'ts a bug I think there will be no workaround for it :silly:
I use my flash light a lot and never have had this? I have installed the mod for a brighter torch, maybe try that?

Can you name / provide a link to this mod please?
Edit: Found it, will give it a try later.

I flashed medium all and modified the settings to 100,000 instead of 500k.
My flashlight was flickering as well, but a reboot seemed to fix it. I used the quick settings flashlight icon.
I had this issue yesterday, I think it only happens when I turn the screen off while using the flashlight. Maybe something to do with doze?
I had flickering too, plus I couldn't turn off flashlight after it was on for few minutes. Only reboot helped to turn off the light.
I have the same problem since I installed 6.0

This helped me to fix the issue and made it even brighter. Won't miss it anymore.

Does anyone know how to use the front key lights as notification led's on our L9 since we don't have one? I found out how to use the camera flash as one but that's the back of the phone and i don't like facing the phone screen face down on anything in fear of scratching the screen.
If there is not a method already around somewhere to do this, how hard would it be to get this working? I think it would be a great asset to our L9s!
R: [Q] Notification LED
Use LG Notifications from Playstore. It's free but requires root.

I tried that before posting and it didnt work :/

Please try the NOLED app. Probably a better option. Tried on my HTC Glacier. Works.

Works for me.
How does it behave for you? On my L9 nothing changed at all once installed and enabled :/ What settings did you choose? Do they flash after the screen turns off for awhile after the notification, and stay flashing until they are read??

I just chose the default settings, and it flashes the front key lights till the message is read. Maybe cause I'm using P760 V10h on my P765.
The app is a battery drainer since it wakes the cpu up each time the buttons light up.
Im hoping they can program this feature into future roms for the L9 where it just causes the LED's to blink until the screen is turned back up when a notification is received. Not sure if its possible to program the blinking to run without waking the cpu?
That was another concern of mine, but if it was integrated into the rom in such a way to not wake the cpu then battery life would not be affected as much.
Okay, new to this forum, but not new to using Androids. Flashed JellyBeans B11, turned on AOSP Lockscreen (Ripple & Ink Effect unchecked) and it froze. I have figured out the problem, it is the app Light Flow causing it to freeze. The only thing I use Light Flow for is SMS, MMS, and Email. I cannot figure out how to fix this problem, so..
Has anybody else had this problem and fixed it? Thanks!

I switched to light manager for awhile and it worked good. https://play.google.com/store/search?q=light+manager
Now I just use the LED control that's built in.
Light Manager is a decent alternative for now. Prefer Light Flow due to way more notification options, so I will continue to try to get it to work, thanks though!
Hi all! I'm having some brightness issues on my Razr i and any help would be great!
I'm on stock 4.1.2 and was using Power Toggles brightness slider to change the brightness, but suddenly, with no changes on the phone, the brigthness level would change only after turning screen off/on. But the problem is not related to the app I think, because even auto brightness isn't working properly... I mean, when it has to get brighter, it works, but when it has to dim, again only if I turn off/on the screen.
Does anyone know what could be causing it?
Thanks in advance!
Sorry for the bad english.

Although you don't think the app is causing the brightness problem's I would recommend uninstalling it for troubleshooting purposes and seeing if after you have uninstalled the app and rebooted the phone if after some time the problem persists. This way we can rule out if the app is or isn't causing the problem.

Thanks for the reply. I did uninstall it and the problem remains... I installed volume slider (which has a brightness slider too) and the same happens: non "real time" brightness changing and the auto brightness still doesn't work properly... =/

That is odd, I would recommend booting into recovery and performing a factory reset and then see if that fixes your problem.

This is what I was afraid of... =/
I will just wait a little longer to see if anybody faced this issue before. I'm pretty sure a factory reset will do (since it started to act like this all of a sudden) but I want to find the cause so it won't happen again or, if it happens, I won't need to do a factory reset...
It's weird... what could make this issue appear? =/

One possible way of figuring out what is causing this issue to happen is to generate a logcat when you are adjusting the brightness settings and see if the log reports any background processes that are causing errors with the brightness control.

Thanks for helping me!
I never generated a logcat before. So I installed CatLog from Store and generated a logcat doing the following:
1) Set brightness to auto
2) Put the phone under a lamp
3) Turned of all the lights: the brightness didn't change
4) Turned off and on the screen: when the screen turned on, the brightness was already on a lower level
The logcat is pretty messed... it shouldn't be like that right? =/
Is this helpful?

From looking at the logcat there is a lot of errors and warning messages with loading certain library files and Android runtime services that relate to power and screen brightness sensing. Another peculiar thing I noticed was that NFC seemed to be generating a couple error messages as well. Overall you were definitely right about it not being a normal log in this situation, I also like your testing methodology :good:.

Well, so any suggestion? Or just a factory reset would do?

Unfortunately a factory reset would probably be the best thing to do.

You could also try re-flashing the stock ROM to see if that fixes it, another suggestion that could possibly work is running a fix permissions utlity.
Reflashed stock rom and reinstalled all my apps. Everything was fine. Went to bed and woke up, the same problem with power toggles reappeared...
EDIT: found what was causing it! It is the latest version of Floating Notifications (when show on lockscreen is enabled)!
Thanks a lot shimp!

That's wicked bizarre that even after all those things the problem still persists. You could try bringing it in to Verizon to see if they can do anything otherwise a hardware issue may have arisen.

Hi everyone!
I just updated my Galaxy S2 I9100 from CyanogenMod 11 to Resurrection-Remix-LP-v5.5.0 (and I am using the stock kernel). Almost everything works fine but now when I turn the flashlight on and then lock the screen, it automatically turns off the light after a couple seconds.
So I assume that something linked with the custom ROM or Android 5.1.1 makes the phone quickly turn into a state where the LED must be off. But this bug is quite annoying and I would like to be able to use the flashlight also with the screen off. Any idea of what would cause this issue and how to solve it?
Thanks!

This is a bug that has been reported before. The only solution I know of is to install a different flashlight app from the market

Ok thank you then! Still, does anybody know what causes the bug? I did not actually find a thread where this is mentioned.
Do you guys experience same thing? Most of the time it shows normal lockscreen, but sometimes it's showing an AOD look (I have AOD off). would prefer to use this second look tbh.
same problem for me, hope this will be fixed in next update
Having the same issue here. Glad I'm not the only user with this problem. Try writing a descriptive report to Google and send them some feedback so they can hopefully fix it.

I'm so grateful for this ADB method. This is such an annoying bug. Thanks @HSD-Pilot for sharing this solution.
Has anyone found an ADB method for forcing the lockscreen clock to stay small? I use a persistent weather notification to keep the clock small, but I'd love to find a permanent fix for this. I really hate the big clock.
