No Streetview on Chinese tablet. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a cheap Chinese Android tablet, identified as a "SRE 10" running Android 4.4.2 Kitkat. Kernel 3.3.0, Quad core A31 cpu.
I downloaded Google Maps from the play store and that seems to work ok, though it is the "phone" version.
When I tried to use street view, all I got was a blurred blank screen. I went back to the store and downloaded the separate Google Street View app because I assumed that that must be needed in addition to Maps.
But no. Street View still does not work.
I am beginning to think that the Chinese origin of this device means that street view is disabled.
Any ideas?

Hi ! I think it's too new and it's not popular to have custom roms, if you use W700 instead w808, you will get custom roms ^^ sorry for my bad english. About google play store, i have no idea but you can use Tegra zone to install app and games for Tegra 2
Xie Xie John (sorry my Chinese is very bad )
Unfortunately installing Tegrazone application still use Google Play (crashing on my phone) and it seems that Chinese based phones are either consider non compatible or get a "This item cannot be installed in your device's country". Apparently somebody is working on a ROM at bbs.mumayi. com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=408006 but my Chinese is not good, so I will have to work hard on it... Any help welcome
got something
Hi Joe,
I bought the same stuff 2 days ago in a shop in Guangzhou and I got a cool chinese guy to install something that kind of works.
It is not quite clean and I am struggling to get quite a few things straight (the keyboard he installed is from "Baidu" a sort of search engine super popular in China and I am 300% sure it logs every stroke to update their databases with email addresses and passwords, the contact system does not allow me to see/edit the group for my contacts, etc.), but the google play thing works kind of ok.
If you want I can try to get something better from him and share.
Please specify better what exactly you have and what you need.

[Q] Is there a way to make an app work on my device?

Hi everyone. Quick question, is there an easy way to make a app that is unavailable for my model work? I have a Minix X7 android tv box and would like to access the SKyGO tv app on it. I think is is running android 4.4.2 from memory. The SKygo app at this stage looks to only be available for a handful of common devices in my country (NZ). I do notice however that it has recently worked on my Teclast X98 Air 3g with 4.4.4. OK.
The X7 is spoofed a a nexus 10 or something ( from when I flashed a rom a while back)
Thanks in advance for any ideas
I tried editing the build prop
With a couple of supported models and now the app comes up in Google play but shows as incompatible. Strange how the app is working on my teclast x98 air tablet when it's not meant to be compatible. Must be something else the sky go app looks for to be compatible.
In case the official app from the Play Store is marked as "unavailable" for your device, you can search for the apk-version, which is available for all devices. You can use this link for example to download it.
One note: this linked version is the German version, not sure, if you can change the language to whatever you want. If not, search for the apk for your country.

Google Play On Acer 735 Chromebook

I just purchased an Acer 735 Chromebook.
I am trying to get Google Play to load (and it does) {I am running the beta channel latest chrome OS}. My problem is that when I try to download/install an app from the Google Play store it never completes, I noted that there is a notation that says that I have no devices associated with my gmail account (or something like that). Can anyone tell me what the problem is and is there any way to get google play store apps to install on my chromebook? My information shows this chromebook to be an Acer 735 Series (735-C7Y9) model N15Q10.
Thank You,
PilarChip

Can Someone Help me Get a Couple of Newer Apps Onto an Older Tablet?

So the goal here is to have a tablet in our home gym that I can cast music to a nearby receiver and to have a timer displayed. The device in question is an ancient Xelio tablet and I believe the model to be P900BK if that's of any use. It's currently running Android 4.0.4 and doesn't come stock with the Android Google Play App Store although it has Slide Me and I partially side loaded the Play Store but most of the newer apps I'm trying to install fail some form of validation that occurs in the background whenever I try to run them. I found an APK for Google Play Music that was compatible (I think) with Android 4.0.4 and casting wasn't an option then so it wasn't there.
In a perfect world I'd be able to install Google Play Music (Now has to be YouTube Music though I suppose) and this app here: Hero Timer - WOD Timer Crossfit and HIIT Since it's free and easy to see like the timers most gyms use. I could also use Flex Timer or something else but most all I would want to use for ease of viewing from a distance don't appear to be compatible. The Slide Me app store has nothing of any use that I can find.
I guess the easiest solution would be to find 2 apps in the Slide Me app store that stream music via Chromecast and one that's a good timer that allows for intervals and is large enough to see from a distance on a smaller tablet but as of now I can't seem to find anything that fits that bill. My guess is I won't either on the former due to Google locking that streaming feature down and the latter is mostly trash from what I can tell.
So, any thoughts on this? I'd rather not invest a boat load of time into rooting and potentially bricking this device if I can avoid it but if it's the only option I guess I don't mind. I'd just have to wait until I can carve out enough time to do this which may not be right away. If I do explore this option, one of my concerns is hardware. I'm not sure the ancient hardware this device sports can handle much in terms of ROMs or latest whiz-bang apps or features.
I'm not sure it even has the guts to do what I'm asking but I was hoping someone here who knew the answer could offer up some solutions as I've been out of the custom Android device game for a number of years now.
Thoughts?
This low-end tablet was released 2013-07-09. It runs on Android IceCream. You only can install and run apps on it what are compatible with this Android version.
