As the title states, my SGP621 started running hot and the battery is getting drained as if I'm taxing the device with a hard core game. It started today, and I haven't dropped or damaged it. It's warm to hot on the back near the part were the magnetic charger would be connected. (I don't use the magnetic charging feature) My battery life literally drops 1% every 2-3 mins.
I've tried rebooting it, and even tried charging it for almost 3 hours, and its only charged 20%
Has anyone else experienced the same? Any advice would be appreciated.

Guys I am wandering, can you harm you're phone if it's left on charge overnight on the quick charger? I put mine on to charge right before I go to sleep, then I take it of if I wake up during the night, or first thing on the morning. Is this dangerous for either the phone or the charger??

Nope. Android will charge to 100%, then let it drop to 90%, then recharge to 100. It wont cause damage/fire etc.
Thanks so much for clearing that up for me

I have always charged my phones overnight and it has never done any harm. Looking on the battery monitor widget the Xperia S charges just like everyone other Android phone i have owned, up to 100% full then just remains on a trickle charge.
Be carefull. It will blow up..

So, I haven't had this problem before, but the last two weeks the battery has been acting funny. Sometimes it takes ages to charge(2-3 hours), other times it charges so fast that I get a high temp warning after just 10% of charging and have to turn it off.
This started after I tried to completely discharge and then fully charge the battery, as it's recommended for li-ion batteries once a month or so.
I'm not sure what the problem may be. J could've damaged the battery, or it may be the charger.
Also, there is this curious condition: when charging, the touchscreen loses sensitivity. It handles like a very old resistive touchscreen. Only when charging. I have no idea what the cause may be here either.

Have had this phone for about 2 - 3 weeks. Starting yesterday, I noticed the battery draining abnormally fast. I am not using any email client other than gmail. So basically, nothing in my routine changed. I didn't install any new apps, or started using any apps that I wasn't using before. Essentially, out of the blue, my battery is draining like crazy now. I had to recharge it mid day yesterday, had about 30% left before going to bed, woke up and phone was dead.
This is the s6's battery..i go out at 8 and at 12 my phone shuts down..buy an external pack and youll be fine

The reason I made the thread is because the battery was fine for me until a couple a days ago, now it drains 30% over night and I can barely get through half a day on light use. One problem after another with this phone. I guess I have to do a factory reset.
Booting into safe mode could tell you if the fast drain was caused by a rogue app.
I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but since the update on Monday my phone discharges incredibly fast, is extremely hot, is running slower than ever. Is anyone else having this problem? My battery is at 79% right now and my estimated time remaining is 2h 12min.
Have you looked at the battery usage details?
Since updating to v10e my battery lasts nowhere near as long as it did

I should say first that until yesterday, this phone charged fine and worked perfectly. I dropped the phone from about 5ft and it landed flat on the glass. Since then, it charges extremely slowly. I'm talking like upwards of 50hrs for a full charge. I'm using a 500ma charger and in the Ampere app, it's showing that it's getting ~2000ma. I plugged the same cord into my tablet and it showed ~1500ma. Confusing, I know. I'm lost. I'm thinking that maybe something has came loose on the inside but also, I guess it shouldn't charge at all if that was the case. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Try Calibrate ur Battery
Try the stock charger first.
