I am trying to unroot my htc amaze from telus canada. I have followed the instructions using the all-in-one kit, and when I went to relock my bootloader, I got stuck in the fastboot screen, and when I tried to reboot, it kept getting me back to the same screen. I was able to unlock the bootloader again, and now when I try to access wi-fi, it says error under the wi-fi button in settings!
how do I fix this?

If you have a back up, restore it, but your best call is to download the stock zip file, place it on your sd card root, rename it PH85IMG and boot into the bootloader, should ask you if you wanna update, just say yes and let it restore everything to stock, then relock the bootloader, though locking the bootloader isn't exactly necessary.
Ok, where do I find the stock rom? also, now when I slide the cirle to unlock my phone, a windows pops up saying sorry, HTC Sense has stopped unexpectedly, would you like to tell htc?

Here is the stock file: http://d-h.st/qah
After installing that, everything will be fine.
Thank you...will do after I nap. Just to make sure, what is the root dir?

Just put it directly on the sd card, not in any folders, rename the file to PH85IMG.
Thanks for all the help. ok, so I have done that, and rebooted into bootloader. It shows a bar at the side that looks like it is installing somehing, or loading, then I reboot back to my phone, and I am still getting the same error.

After the bar loads it just goes back into the phone? No option to install update?
No, there is no option to install. It just goes back to the main fastboot screen. I changed it to a zip file, because it was an exe file, and it didn't see it. The reason I want to unroot is to update to ics!
*frustrated.
If Dark Nightmare gave you an RUU for T-Mobile then it won't work. Be sure its a Telus RUU. Otherwise you need to do a lot more leg work.
Edit...NVM he gave you the right link. Is you phone originally a Telus Phone?
--------------------------------
It's Better To Fail At Originality

Lol I pay attention.
The question is, did you try the ICS leak by any chance?
Yes, it's a telus phone. I have not tried the ics yet, but that's what I want to install! Lol is there a link for the leaked ics?
Do you think it might be because I used Debloater and Debloater Remover? (was just following the instructions). no matter what I do, I keep getting that error.
Ok, so, I was able to fix that error that kept popping up!
Couple of quick questions before this one is locked up:
Do I need to re-root my phone, if I followed all those steps in the all in one tool kit?
And
Can someone post a link here on how I can install the latest version of ICS on my phone?
Thanks for all the help!

Unless you S-Off, there's no way you're upgrading to ICS until Telus release their version.
I am also a Telus Amaze user.
In this order, you need to:
1)Unlock your bootloader from HTCdev
2) Use Juopunutbear's S-off hack.
3) Flash the T-mobile RUU
4) Flash the ICS rom
5) Insert your SIM, connect to telus under mobile networks, and enter Telus' APN settings.
Be aware though, I can't seem to get MMS to send properly. Anyone have any ideas?

Did you remember to supercid before flashing the tmobile rom? And check the apn settings thread for the apn settings just in case they were incorrect, though in my experience the carrier pushes the settings no matter what device you're using.
I did Super-Cid the device. At least, I wrote 11111111 to CID.
APN is also correct, I set it up manually and my data connection and texting work just fine.
Could this be at all related to Telus using HSPA, while the TMOUS rom only has options to select WCDMA or GSM?
Thanks for the info on installing ICS. I think I will do it once we find out how to get mms working.
Don't hold your breath on the T-mobile version. I'm waiting for the Telus OTA so I can rip it apart and figure out what is going on.
In addition, anyone know of any risks for the few of us Telus users that are running the TMOUS rom? It shouldn't detect Telus' OTA, right?
Tmo using HSPA+ as well, the network set ups are practically the same, Try checking your mms settings in the app itself.
I have a HTC ATT Titan that is loaded with HSPL (as far as I can tell) - but will not load any ROMS that require radio 17. The screen remains stuck on the HTC logo. If I switch to radio 16 and a supported rom, it works.
1) can someone please confirm if I have infact HSPL running as it should
2) is this a known problem with ATT HTC for it to remain stuck on radio 16?
Thanks

It's not a problem of AT&T. I had the same issue with my euro Titan. Stuck at radio 16.
This is how I fixed it
BTW - not so long ago I decided to flash back radio 16 because of the signal strength and faster network detection.
So I cooked my rom based on 2.05 OEM and tried to downgrade radio to 16 from 17. And I realized that now I'm stuck at radio 17
So I did all things again as I described in my linked post but for downgrade. And downgraded successfully.
One more tip - OEM 2.05 works definitely better for me than OEM 4.06 used with 17 radio.
I followed these instructions, but like any other method - the SPL screen still shows Radio 16. Looks like nothing changes it.
BTW step #7 in your linked post, the file cannot be found for Radio 17 - I do have it from other post, the names exactly matches so I think I have the one you wanted me to load for radio 17 - but still does not wor.
Thanks

As far as you're able to install HSPL (according to your homescreen) and you're unable to install radio - I would offer to use 7.8 custom rom based on 2.05 OEM. Believe me - you won't miss anything with 16 radio.
What is your native tongue? I ask because if it's English or Russian - I can offer my rom (it has only two langs). If it's different - you should wait until ultrashot will make his dynamics next ver. He is going to make it in two instances - for 16 and 17 radio.
P,S, I fixed the radio link in my post.
US English.
What I am really after is to use to unlock the ATT phone - so any ROM that will allow me to unlock this from ATT would be great.
Thanks

If so - I can cook you a 7.8 today (today means - I can start in 7-8 hours and hopefully it's ready within 12 hours). Will send link in PM. It will boot as 0409.
Thanks - this would be carrier unlocked right? Just checking to make sure...

Sure - why the hell should I cook carrier-dependent rom? My second name is not ATT It's just 7.8 - 2.05 OEM based rom for Titan 0409. Also without most of HTC $hitware like HUB, ConnectedMedia etc. You may install it from the market if you want
Check PM - all links there.
Thanks Andrew, the ROM loaded fine and seems to work ok. but But, the dreaded unlock situation is still unresolved. Everytime I reboot, the "enter your pin" screen shows up.
When I boot the titan, the splash screen does say configuring unlok status or something close to this - but then pops up the "enter carriee provided pin" kind of message asking for unlock pin.
Please let me know if you have some pointers on this.
Thanks again for your help - I know you do not have to, but you are.

There is a lot of services like that on e-bay. Find most acceptable for you and go ahead.
You now have the same situation as I had with my Leo TMOUS. You should buy (or receive from your carrier) the unlock code generated for your IMEI. You can not find any rom that will fix this issue.
I was sure that you have carrier-unlocked Titan. The unlocking takes a couple of seconds and takes effect forever - future flashing can not change anything later.
Andrew - I have an unlock code from 3rd party and it unlocks the phone fine, but when rebooted, it asks for the code again.
The same behavior was observed with your ROM as well. So whether I use a stock ATT cingular ROM or your ROM I am seeing the same results - the unlock code is asked again after a reboot.
Thanks

That can only mean that your unlock code is not good. But if it works until reboot - it's better than nothing. Either try to obtain another unlock code or continue inserting code after reboot.
From my experience - I got official unlock code from carrier - so I had to enter it only once and than - forgot about that.
So I called ATT and the rep looked it up with the IMEI numer and said we do not have an unlock code for this phone. Apparently on septemer 20, 2012 some code was released, and that I should look it up on google.
Running out of options....
Is there a way I can go ack to 1.0 SPL, I had that before I installed the HSPL / SPL 2.5 - and it seems nothing can change than anymore.
Thanks

hello guys
please help me here, i got a mobile from a friend and it is AT&T One M8, it has lot of unnecessary apps and its not possible for me to share net via hotspot.
So i went and done root but can not able to get S-off and i really can't pay $25.
please can any one tell me how get at least official Asia or Indian OS.
Mobile condition
Rooted
CID HTC__001
factory unlocked.
Please help me to get another OS. Thanks in Advance.:crying:
Not at this time. Your only option is to pay. Firewater was the last option to s-off and that project was abandoned
If you're looking to delete at&t apps to free up space, ROM toolbox and Titanium Backup in the play store will work just fine to delete those apps
You have a few options:
1) Unlock bootloader, flash custom recovery. Then flash just about any ROM that is not AT&T based, that supports your firmware (hboot, radio, etc.). Basically, any ROM is better than AT&T stock, in my opinion.
2) Unlock bootloader, flash custom recovery and root. Than manually delete what apps you want (as suggested above) and apply WiFi tethering hack.
3) Pay for sunshine s-off, and convert to another CID, such as Developer Edition. Not only will this get you on a clean (no AT&T branding or limitations) stock base (and Lollipop at that), but allow OTA updates as well.
Firewater was discontinued (as mentioned above). Firewater was an online service, so it no longer works now that the dev has stopped supporting it. Sunshine is the only s-off method at this time, so you can stop trying to s-off by some "other" method unless you have some advanced development skills and intend to find you own exploit.

I would suggest to do this. Converting an AT&T branded phone to Developer Edition is fantastic because of all the benefits that were already mentioned. Believe me, you won't be disappointed. I had to pay $25 to get S-off but I don't regret my decision, since immediately I got Lollipop and had the option to tethering and without bloatware.

Hold on, that isn't the AT&T CID. So either the CID has been modified (s-off required to do so), its not the AT&T version, or CID listed incorrectly above.
AT&T version of the M8 has the AT&T "globe" logo on the back of the phone.
Okay guys, here we go....
I bought a "unlocked" M8. I tried to update the HTC software immediately. However, it said I needed to revert to official HTC software. I went to HTC.com and support page. During the support chat, she got me to install an RUU that belong to ATT. My phone wasn't made for art, not did I have art service. Now, I cannot surf the web, watch YouTube, download apps or anything. I can't do any of those things with cellular data, as I was able to before this ATT RUU. I can only make calls with my m8. If I'm on Wi-Fi, then I can surf the web, download apps, etc.
So, my question is..... How do I get rid of this RUU ATT? I want start fresh where I didn't have att and all the bloatware. I was able to do stuff with my cellular data where I'm not able to now.... What's up guys?
I've been trying to learn, and I think I gotta start with ADB. and flash a recovery:? I dunno. Please help guys. I'ma call HTC at next available opportunity.
AJ
Try factory reset
Yeah, I've tried that many times. I've erased the cache partition, done factory reset, etc. And I've rebooted to Fastboot USB MODE, hook it up to PC, and tried the other RUU. But it didn't work. I can't only make phone calls. I can't do anything else with the cellular service. What should I do? Start off by unlocking boot loader, right? With ADB. Or do I need to change ID numbers to match? Or should I use a custom recovery with adb?
Not enough info. Do a fastboot getvar all, and post the output. Be sure to delete IMEI and serial number, as these are personal info.

How can we know that, if you haven't told us the device's CID or MID in the first place, or the RUU (other than ATT) you tried to run?
If you installed an ATT RUU, and don't use ATT as your carrier, you will need to manually enter your carrier's APN info to get internet. That is probably your main problem as far as getting cell internet service.
A friend brought a device that with the updated (t6whl) RUU, would bootloop incessantly - after performing every form of flashing (even some m7 tricks) - I finally got it running by removing the OADM apk from NuSense and flashing it - lollipop nice and smooth, it came from China - but with a catch - it had sprint software...Now all that's left is to fix the unknown IMEI / Baseband / MEID / IMSI - flashing radios.
Serial on the bootloader? Different - massively so from the one on the back of the device. Is it (illegally) possible to modify the serial? or maybe they write the imei using fastboot on a different serialed device? Apparently the device has 0P3P510 on the back (0P3P520 though on the IMEI websites threw me off though)...the bootloader is t6whl (sprint) though...is the bootloader unmodifiable? Or could this be a china-version sprint device.
So a quick lookup produced three possible varieties
- T6_UL HTC One Max, 0P3P510, 0P3P520, (HTC 803s)
- T6_U HTC One Max 803s, (t6ul/HTC_0P3P5), 0P3P600, 0P3P510, (Global)
- T6_WHL HTC One max 803c (Sprint)
Although I don't understand the '0P3P510' besides it becoming modelid and NOT the same one on the bootloader info - '0P3P700000' - presumably because of NuSense's lollipop?...
Don't know what to do besides somehow trying a Chinese/HK RUU, modifying a ROM to avoid bricking it maybe. I have a feeling that someone mixed up the Sprint 803c to 803s (the Chinese specific one, in accordance with my device)...and somehow getting the 803s firmware on it would produce a miraclous recovery..
But I am scared sh*tless of trying that RUU...How should I proceed? The IMEI on the back, the Model ID and possibly ESN are 803s - all that's left is the firmware and weird t6whl bootloader.
Okay after endless flashing and researching similar M7 cases, the answer is quite simple - I need the ENG HBOOT for Sprint to rewrite the serial and MID to conform with the rear battery info
Who should I PM/ask to get it from? Almighty google isn't producing anything...

I believe I have a similar one max situation.. I got it to activate on sprint once. Although I had no prob flashing nu sense. (Using TWRP Univ 30.20) and everything else flashes fine cm12 lineage 7.1.1 etc. But it does have CID 11111 in hboot. I had not realized it wasn't a standard T6SPR and so didn't back up the nand the stock ROM. I get data LTE and MMS only. It's def a frustrating device. It's quad band and the stock ROM was Chinese but I found info saying it was for Australia as well as being an unlocked world phone. I'm leaning to believe it will only work on sprint if they unlock the old network services for 3G and GSM. I'm having trouble getting the prl to stick and my min bounced back to my real T6SPR which now has call and SMS with no sim, while data continues to flow on the mutt. My real T6SPR isn't activated anymore but will work fully with sim in. I can swap the between both which is new to me on sprint (without any activations) lol I'll post back with outcome once I receive a second sim for the T6SPR and can try some other things. It says on back 803s 0P3P520 p/n 99HWN030-00 same t6whl HBoot 2.46 I also wanna try a sprint ruu or hboot 2.49 hoping it will write a radio in the blank but scared to hard brick because it is s-off. Oh yeah stock sense 4.3 ROM had no activation section in settings but didn't try *2 oops. Imei websites keep leading me to the dual sim version which it's not. If can't get anywhere will sell before I brick it

Try this out folks HBOOT for your devices.
To all thread participants, sorry for the late response
Short answer, the only logical solution is restoration of a nandroid backup of the original factory image, I returned the device before attempting this but I discovered something far worse
There is a Chinese manufacturer, very conniving and duplicitous, that is repacking original HTC internal components into horribly built cases. They take a mainboard, achieve S-OFF and SuperCID, and modify the HBOOT parameters through a hex editor to trick consumers. They package it into a case which has horrible bleeding of light in the plastic edges. Using fastboot OEM getvar all will tell a different story. What's worse, the paper packaging beneath the rear cover has no relation to the HBOOT info! It's usually 0P3P510 or 803s.
Now to the software, they take a developer edition HTC firmware and cook up a simple Jelly Bean or KitKat ROM, it's third parameter is 1540, and again the software info in settings usually has contradictions with the HBOOT. This is why it is very dangerous not to make a Nandroid Backup before flashing a new ROM.
Now we come to the infamous radio problem. This is a guess from me, but I believe the partition is non standard and can lead to write errors causing the bootloop. Flashing any Sprint or international radio does not fix it so be careful
There are M7s and M8s as well but mysteriously they couldn't crack the new ABOOT in the M9. These devices have a very distinct difference in the packaging - thicker and bolder gray text with a less aesthetic font, also in the sticker. Do not buy them.
I am writing from a 'brand new' black M7 which had a Chinese silver sticker and was very recently produced. Only has visible bleeding on the top due to poor placement of the digitizer but build quality overall is great. I am running my 4th custom ROM, slimROM 7.1.2 with zero problems. The device came S-OFF with no previous owner, and SuperCID
Watch out! The M8S doesn't have the radio problem either and doesn't come Sprint but usually Verizon. The M7s UL or U with developer edition KitKat ROM :silly:
