Maybe THIS link will help. Pretty much their saying yes, but don't know when. Verizon is the only one who has released it for the G3.

Hi,
my question is whether using the Firmware E97020j zip in the general forum, we are still able to use the OTA LG update server facility?
This is in anticipation of any updates for the beloved phone from LG.
thanks in advance
milind
When I used stock roms I was not able to update, maybe something to do with
Me not using it with att (the original carrier) as I recall getting an error message regarding the update server. Are you on AT&T? If so maybe you will be able. Best regards!!

hi, thanks for the reply.
Well I also am not on the AT and T network. So maybe its a no-go for us.

There will be no more update. 20j is the latest and probably last
Chances are slim to none that there will be another official update from att but if there was there's no chance a non att user could have it pushed to their device.

The chance of an update is .000000001/0%.

I ve read this article in this link http://www.phonearena.com/news/LG-t...te-many-of-its-devices-to-Android-4.4_id51571
It seems many LG devices get direct kitkat update, but not l9, if l9 is not compatible for android 4.4, why can't atleast get 4.3? Do anyone have clear ideas about this?

Android does not officially support TI OMAP CPUs as of 4.4 and if I'm not mistaken the L9 uses one so were out of luck. You could always try your hand at unlocking your bootloader and flashing a custom 4.4 or even 4.3 build

Honestly there is nothing that LG or T-Mobile could put out that can touch any of the custom roms available for this phone anyways. There are a couple Unofficial CM 11 roms availible and I have not had a problem with it.
I thought atleast we would get a 4.3 update, anyway we I will try custom ROMs

But the list mentions L9 II will get 4.4 update, how is our L9 similar to it's successor? Is it possible to port the update from the L9 II to L9?

LG optimus 4x hd isn't getting an update, let alone of our l9.
last lg I buy that's for sure.. they don't want to update it.. not that they cant

I's not that the device isn't KitKat compatible, I also have an ARMv6 Optimus One, old and slow, but it fully supports running KitKat. LG Simply doesn't want to support the L9 anymore.
As I've previously stated, not here, and others have also stated, this is my LAST LG device. My money. My blood and sweat made the money, so I should be able to do with it what I want. Plain and simple.
Agreed!!! I dont think I'll ever buy another lg device again... It's my phone and I bought it out right, I should be able to do what I want to do.
Currently I'm thinking of getting a T-Mobile google nexus 5 hopefully in a couple weeks. Which I found out was made in collaboration with lg. Lol. At least the bootloader is unlockable. I guess I might look at some other devices then too.
well think of the cpu not getting anymore updates by its company which isnt lg i mean if you guys want kitkat and are on a budget get the lg optimus l90 its a really good phone that i recently got that i upgraded to

Yeah, I was also thinking about getting the Nexus 5 but since LG makes it, I'll probably give the Xperia or HTC One a shot. They are expensive so I guess it's wishful thinking....lol.

I've flashed CM a few times in my life and it's great! I love it. But do you know what I love more?
Kill me now,
But TouchWiz.
Love the features. Most of them are stoobid and I will remove once I get root, but I want root, xposed and 4.4 on my Verizon Note 3. I'm not interested in sitting on 4.3 anymore. So! Here's my question.
Is there a way to flash the unlocked non-carrier bloated version of 4.4.2 TouchWiz on my Verizon note 3?
Thanks for your time!
Happy rooting.

Hey has anyone been able to or tried to port the M8's keyboard to the GS4? If so please let me know. any help is greatly appreciated!
It's tied into closed source sense framework so very difficult most likely impossible unfortunately

That might work, the same company that Samsung originally licensed/bought touchwiz from also made lg's software.
Does anyone know if and when we are suppose to receive the new Android marshmellow update? Also, has anyone started a marshmallow build? Couldn't find any info on here. Thanks
Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
U can bet a device from 2 plus years ago won't be getting an official marshmallow update. Lg wants u to buy the g5 which will come stock with 6.0. As far as custom builds u will just have to do some googling. Don't look just to xda for ur info. There are some other decent developer sites.
I will add, this is orig dev thread, not QA or general. Hoping thus was just an accident.
Thanks
