I have a 920 that came preinstalled with Portico ROM version (I bought it about two weeks ago). It's a great phone and improvement over my LM800.
One thing is bothering me, though. In low-light conditions the screen brightness keeps changing from normal and readable to hardly readable. It's like the light sensor is constantly flipping between two states. I read some report on the internet that I am not the only one.
Some suggested that it could be fixed by turning the phone of and turning it on in complete darkness and unlock the screen. That sounded a bit strange, since the screen will emit a lot of light during the boot process, but I tried it anyway... didn't work.
Anyone else experiencing this issue?
So recently i bought a LG k4 m151, its a pretty good phone for the 50$ I paid for it but recently its been doing this thing where when i set it above 60 brightness the screen dims slightly in away where i can still see everything but just make the screen not as bright and messes with my eyes which is annoying, but if i set it to auto brightness and manually adjust the brightness it doesn't have this problem, and sometimes the problem flat out doesn't happen at all. I would like to know if this is a hardware or software problem or just some kind of defect, im running android 6.0.1 ive tried a factory reset and nothing happened. I also have apex launcher if that means anything. I would also like to know if I should return it and get a new one also if you want me to make a video of the phone doing the thing I will.
I dont understand

I don't understand what you mean
so yes make a video
Ts thaw adaptive display option on the settings
So recently my phone has ghost images, leftovers from other apps on the screen. (eg. The top bar showing up ghostly when it shouldn't, controls of a game showing up on home screen after closing the game in a ghostly effect) It is not a software problem. I know it goes away on its own after some time, but it's very annoying and its freaking me out. Anyone else got this problem? How do I fix/prevent it
i got it to.not know hot to fix it
Very disappointed from xperia screen
I have also the same problem and it looks like a hardware issue. It's very noticeable when you increase the screen brightness. Notification bar icons/time appear all time against any dark background. Very annoying, even cheap phones don't have that problem.
Example I found online -> lnv.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/79782iF19656F933D1C741

I read that certain types of screen cause it, and it cannot be fixed except wait, which sucks, but I can't say for sure
Screenshots showing problem
I took these photos from my phone to show you how the screen retention problem looks like in Sony Xperia X.

Yes, thats exactly my problem. I noticed that it gets worse if the device is overheating
Sorry for the bump, but is any else having the same issue?
Mine seems to be getting worse and worse over time, to a point that it can literally retain half way up the display.
I use to have the same issue with my iPad Mini Retina until I took it in for a replacement and it hasn't happened since (2 years ago).
Any experiences with Sony replacing the display under warranty?
Thanks,

Not really. After buying the phone, I used it for two months without having this problem, then rooted, so no warranty

It started creeping in after 3 months for me.

Wow, yours got on the next level. Mine isnt so bad. Actually , I rarely have the problem lately. Do you run poison 7.1? That particurar ROM I was using was problematic, causing the phone to overheat and the lcd problem was present all the time
Mine is completely stock and unrooted.
Sent from my Sony Xperia X F5121 using Tapatalk
running completely stock & unrooted. Mine has this problem too. However, the image disappear after 10-20 minutes :|
I had this problem on my unit as well. Tried to adjust the white balance and it seems the issue was barely noticeable on the status and navigation bars.
The good thing is that screen retention falls under manufacturing defect and you will get a new screen.
Mine got replaced with a brand, spanking new one, but the issue has started to creep in just a little bit after a few months, but its very faint.
So I've bought this used Oneplus X ( Age unknown ) and it has burn-in on the status bar. I only just noticed this after re-flashing the phone where the white theme was as default. A ton of Facebook notifications, different battery and reception is burned in. I'm wondering, is it the "Always on" feature that contributed to this, or is it just general use?
I got this phone for 100 euros, switching over from a Oneplus One with rampant 3G issues, when switching to the black theme it isn't noticeable luckily so there's that!

1. Why did you get a used Oneplus X at 100 euros , where you could have bought other new phone.?
2. Always on display shows the date, time and notification.... Even when the screens off.( So I don't think it's that.)
3. Burn in rarely happens on an AMOLED and if it has happened, you need to replace the screen.
Hope I answered your question.
It can happen from general use. On my phone it's quite noticeable.
I've got a bit of burn in on mine, from the notification bar, but I can only ever see it if I'm looking for it AND have the brightness down all the way AND have the area around where the notification is a grey colour. At that point, I can start clearly making out icons, but otherwise general use has not left any marks. I could probably even make it a bit better by switching my notification bar icons to black and using that for a long while, but I don't really care enough since it's so minor.
Hey all
I have a mate 20 pro that I use since its release. Currently I have a problem with the screen (LG unfortunately) when the lighting is low I see the Huawei logo in the background especially when the background is white, you find the photo attached, is someone of you has the same problem? Is there a solution? Does this affect the life of the screen?
Thank you in advance.
Its called "screen burn" its a known issue for amoled displays
Lol you had Huawei written background for so long?
Its definitely screen burn
Try runing led burn fixer app from playstore for i donno may be several days see if it helps
But mostly wont, just give it a try
