S3 I305 charging problems - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey,
i have been playing around with a few custom roms on my s3, tried to install CM11 messed it up, and installed a stock rom back over it, the phone was working fine on CM, but the battery would drain quick, random restarts, signal dropping ect. this carried on even when i flashed the stock rom back onto it, i have managed to find a kernel that has fixed all these problems
The only problem i have been having is when the phone is turned off and charging, i cant turn the phone on, if i unplug the charger the charging screen stays on, it turns on normally after i take the battery out, and also charges absolutely fine when its turned on.
*EDIT* S3 I9305
i was wondering if anyone had any idea what this could be?

[Q] i777 decided to shut off when plugged to usb and flash charging screen! got NFC B

Hello,
I have a AT&T galaxy s2 and it worked for past 10 days since i got it. but since yesterday while it was charging it decided to shutoff and flash the charging screen
my problem is similar to this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363155
but I have got the original NFC battery and the problem just started yesterday.
while its got shutoff it displays battery charging (but the indicator is at 0 battery) it flashes like every second and after about 10 to 15 flashes, it become stable and displays the correct amount of battery charged and charging from there. (flash is gone) and now I can turn it on again.
The phone doesnt immediately shut off while plugged in to usb. it just some times shut off immediately and sometimes it stays good for minutes before it shuts off. For the moment I have plugged it on to the computer for like 15 minutes now and its good.
before this happened my battery was down to 0% after heavy use and the problem started while I was charging after that.
Is this somekind of battery related problem? Actually I cant just swap new one from at&t as im living in Sri Lanka and I have got this from ebay.
Please help me
Thanks
BTW I have tried changing roms kernels and all. icsscrewd, shostock, unnamed and siyah, entropy nothing fixed the problem
Follow this thread. It is known problem between few users (including me). Try to stay totally stock (this means don't install apps, stock rom, stock kernel). If your phone still turn offs on stock, well most likely it is defective. I haven't yet expected turns off after I flashed Entropy's 2/8/12 kernel and uninstalled some apps including Widgetlocker, SetCpu, Mobile Odin and few others that I cannot remember. If you have them, uninstall.

omg if I cant install any apps it becomes unusable ne?
Well I didnt tried the stock rom yet. Im using 2/8/12 kernel and unnamed latest at the moment. I have widgetlocker on my purchased apps but I didnt installed it on this though.
But I have tried without any apps on icwscrewd, unnamed, shostock (just after flashing the rom) but problem is there
Sounds to me like the battery contacts are loose.

Wifi problem

HELP, am on V41 with boeffla V10 Omni, I woke up unplugged the phone after 10 min its a bit hot, then after using play music for another 10 min the song I was playing stopped suddenly then few mins later the phone shut down and I couldn't open it again, the phone was a bit hot, I left it to cool tried to switch back on but no use, plugged it to charger then I was able to open it and noticed a sudden huge battery drain from 80 to 19% I bought a new battery, but now my odd problem is that my wifi not working properly as yesterday before I slept, it has a very week signal that I have to be sitting beside the router to get connected, any ideas please???
P.S: I wiped everything, I installed stock 4.1.2 and 4.3 but nothing happened, I also turned wifi saving mode off but still the problem persists. Would also like to add that with emmc check I had yes, Insane
If you are back to stock then try another wifi source, otherwise you have a hardware fault.

[Q] Overheating and not turning on !

I rooted my phone with Cyanogenmod 11 (nightly) two weeks ago, it was fine, no issues. On monday morning phone was fully charged, but with very little to no use it was completely discharged in 7 hours. When I connected phone to a charger (original and working) it didn't want to turn on, it did NOTHING, black screen. When I borrowed battery from my brother's S2 wich was charged almost fully, it booted KitKat but it showed that the battery has to be recharged. I put it back to brother's phone but it showed only approx. 15% less than before, it was okay. I tried charging my phone with brother's battery, but it was incredibly overheating , not like when you play games, I was afraid it was going to blow up. It is overheating even when phone is turned off and charging or even when normally turned on, on battery. I tried enabling airplane mode, I even installed stock ROM with Odin, but it is still overheating. It is not overheating near the camera but on the left side of the screen, I don't know what that chip is there for. Stock ROM now gives me error after 2 min. saying "Charging paused, battery temperature too high." Now my battery is discharged and phone is unable to charge it, only black screen again. Could this be done by rooting it with Cyanogenmod ? it was the only ROM that I installed through the step-by-step process on their site and for couple of days it worked fine. Is this a hardware issue that would occur even if I wouldn't root my phone, also is it somehow fixable, or would I need to change motherboard completely ? PLS HELP !

Phone heating up / battery draining while OFF

So I've run into an bizarre problem today, one that I've never seen before.
My mum's S2 was having problems charging last night with the screen not showing the charge animation. So we decided to charge my S2's battery in my phone, then put it into her phone. It worked, but the battery was draining really quickly. I turned off the phone, decided to charge her battery in MY phone. Then I put her original battery back into her phone. But even though I haven't turned the phone on, it starts heating up within minutes! So anyway, I've tried plugging her phone into the charger again, but it seems like something is taking up the battery to quickly to charge it - even while the phone is completely off! I've even checked the processes running when the phone was on, but there seems to be nothing there causing the drain.
So anyway the next thing I'm going to try is a factory reset (this is currently running on the stock ROM), and then attempting the flash another ROM to see if that will work.
Also another thing to note - while i was backing up her phone, I had it plugged in to my computer and after leaving it for a bit to do some other stuff, I hear this high pitched beep coming from the phone saying something like "Battery temperature too high. Charging stopped." Really really strange.
Anyway, if anyone has run into this problem before or has any other ideas, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

[Q] HELP! Phone restarts when connected to charger/USB

I was using Slim 4.4.4 for a little while on my Vibrant, no major issues, but wanted to flash it back to stock for one of my family members that prefers not to have to deal with any potential "quirks." So I grabbed the UVJFD rom and flashed via heimdall. No errors. Unplugged the USB and restarted the phone and it looked fine, but the battery was 14% so I plugged it in to charge. The phone shut off after a few seconds, then displayed the battery charging image that normally shows up - the empty battery with the circle on it that shows up while it is trying to determine how much charge there is. That image just keeps flashing on and off, it never shows the actual battery level. If I try to restart the phone, it boots but shuts off immediately after it gets to the home screen, then back to the battery screen. Same issue if I plug in directly to a wall outlet.
The issue only came up after I flashed back to stock. Here's the kicker: I bought a Galaxy S 4G a while back from eBay, it was flashed with a stock image before it was sent to me, and it had the exact same issue. I ended up getting rid of the phone after I swapped the screen out to fix the broken screen on the Vibrant, but I'm wondering if the issue is somehow related to flashing to a stock ROM?
Does anyone have any idea why I'm having this issue and what, if anything, I can do to fix it?
Edit: I meant to add, I have also tried the T959UVJI6 OTA update, again flashed via heimdall. It did not help.
Hi. Any ideas? I'm stumped, and open to suggestions.
