I used to play Mario every single day, now I want to play something new
Try emulators. They have lots of platformers.
Mega Man, Sonic or Donkey Kong, for instance.
Try super bro!.....good game for android.

Do you guys know of any games that can be played with other android phones at a leisurely pace? On that I have in mind is Words with Friends (and similar games). I'm looking for something that I can play with a friend of mine, but that we can but down for a while and then pick back up whenever one of us has a free minute.
Thanks!
I think its a MMO on the market called pocket something its multiplayer not turned based & free
derp
Try searching "ShipCombat Multiplayer". It's basically like battleship and you're able to sync it with facebook as well.
There's an MMO called "Pocket Legends" as well, if that's the kind of game you're into. "Dungeon Defenders" is similar as well.
Not to mention all the RPG style games like iMobster available on the market.
"Chess Online" lets you play games with people around the world also.
Now that I'm thinking about it, I feel like the Market needs more slow-paced multiplayer games. I'm personally waiting for them to port Hanging with Friends.
Thanks for the reply, guys. Cell phones are the ideal platform for slower turn based games like this. I'll look into that battleship.
Great game to while away free time.
I usually set it to easy mode and my high score is 2490.
The online scores seem unbelievably high to me. Wonder what others are getting with this game.
If you haven't played it and like scrabble type games give it a try
Yeah, it's a really fun game. Basically a cross between Scrabble and Bejeweled. In fact, there's another version called BeWorded for exactly that reason. EA has a free version on iOS called Scrabble Blast that I play all the time on my iPhone. I really wish they'd release it for Android since they've already released Scrabble itself. Anyway, definitely a fun way to pass the time!
Hi everyone,
As most of you know there are emulators for most of the older gaming platforms out there for Android, for example NES, SNES, N64, Amiga etc. Alot of games on these platforms work really good on Android, but the controllers are often so bad that you cant be arsed to play it anyways.
Are there any emulated games that you actually DO play, and if so, which ones? I am eager to play some old console games on my phone but I have a hard time finding games that are actually playable and enjoyable with a touch screen controller.
(I got a Galaxy Nexus. Can't wait for a working version of GTA3!)
N64 is good. Goldeneye and Mario Kart work well on my Rezound. I also play backyard baseball sometimes with SCUMM VM
Castlevania symphony of the night with FPSE runs nice on my thunderbolt with onscreen controls but its perfect with a ps3 controller.
Anyone have Tyson Punchout?
Castlevania Aria of Shadows
Pokemon Emerald
On my poor little Wildfire they run well
Thanks for the tips. I am currently playing full throttle in ScummVM and can recommend it strongly. Also games like Broken Sword 1&2, Monkey Island 1-3 and Day of the tentacle seems very entertaining and easy to control due to the point-and-click system.
Any SNES turn based rpg. No need for more than 2 inputs at a time.

Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre, Vandal Hearts 2. All are PSX games and all play very well on my LG Thrill.
Hi guys,
A friend is away for some days and she has no laptop with her,
but only her iPhone. I am using Android (Galaxy S4).
Now we are looking for games, that we can play together or
against each other, because the one game we know (Quizduell)
is getting boring.
But no MMOPRG, quizes or Poker games. She does not like
that. Maybe she is more interested in simple straight-on games.
Can you give me some hints?
Thank you very much.

Hello,
I've recently created different flappy bird clones and tried to jump on the flappy bird train, but it didn't work out, as there simply is too much competition.
I wonder if creating apps for android is profitable for small developers anyway. Are there any suggestions on which kind of games to focus? Which genres are you targeting on?
What are your experiences with casual games?
Everyone likes high end graphics games.... but so far the only game i havent seen on the play store... its a soccer game...fifa 15 & 16 just sucks... cant play international games ect... maybe a worl cup game with narrators? Since its just around the corner!!.. & maybe charge $5 bucks for it..

The thing is, as a single developer, I can't afford high end graphics. So I'm looking for market gaps.
Never thought of a football game... I might give it a try, thanks.
Simple games sometimes do very well. Look at flappy bird. I would go for a simple game with simple easy to understand input.
Phone games are meant to kill time. Make a game that requires no skill at all.
Side scrolling 2d games....that have a storyline!
There is no silver bullet. You could never know which one will be hyped.
If you have a lot of money to spend on marketing you can sell any game, otherwise it doesn't matter if your game has high- or low-end graphics. If some people start to play with it and start to share it you'll win
Just make games you would like to play with
jglm4u,
Its too hard to develop soccer games on android and need expensive licenses for stars like messi or ronaldo.
