Oh okay, thanks for the tip! Didn't mean to piss off the mods...oh wait...
Well do you have one? What do you think of it? Looks like it adds a good bit of bulk to an already fairly large device, and those big rubber corners look like they'd make getting the device in and out of pockets a royal PITA.

I won't get one, this SG does not have enough "bulk". I like the HC series, which I owned for my Evo 4G, best case ever!
In the absence of the Ballistic HC being produced, I think I will go with the next best thing which is a Trident case. I plan on getting the Trident Kraken when it's released.
BTW, this is about as slim as it gets for a multi-layer case. If this is too bulky for you, you may want to consider a single layer case.

If you are really a fire medic, then maybe you need that much protection. But don't try to blow smoke up anyone's @ss (sorry...not angry, but couldn't resist using the pun ). Honestly, that case is huge. The Seidio Active case has two layers and is much smaller than this one.
As I haven't seen either in person I can't really comment. But I guess perception is relative, they both seem very similar to me. I had a Seidio Rugged/Combo for my Evo 4G, it was ugly and fell apart, I just could never bring myself to buy another Seidio case.
I have the SC series for my Galaxy sII and it is plenty bulky.

The SG series from Ballistic?
Is it bulkier than you expected a 3 layer case to be?
I've been waiting for this as well, I was on the notify list. The question I have is though: How is this different from the White Impact Triple Combo or BoxWave Resolute? (Both of those two are the same identical case btw, just cheaper on ebay)
I'm looking on the Ballistic website and I can't surmise that there's much. Does anyone know differently? or does anyone own both of these (or is planning on owning both of these)?
Good question... Im either getting this or the casemate tough(but it's out of stock atm).

I just ordered one myself and the coupon works as of April 13.

Just posted a review with pics of my Ballistic case I received today. I also have the Seidio Active case with kick stand coming Monday. Trying to decide which to keep. I tried to reply to Beauman's question on my review but it would not let me.

Your welcome. I just picked up a Moshi reusable screen guard after confirming it fits under the case. I believe it should work under the Seidio too when it comes Monday. I will see.

Cool Note 3 Cases
Love the leather body of the Note 3. DSstyles.com already have many cases for note 3. But, do we still need a case as the leather body is so nice?!

We need alternatives. I personally think the leather effect sounds a bit tacky, especially the stitching (is the stitching real, or is that imprinted as with the leather effect)
I don't want a case (my Galaxy Nexus is looking a bit scratched, but not noticeably so), I just want a plain back like the Galaxy Nexus (or even better, the Nexus 10)
A couple of cases have started to appear on Amazon. This one comes in many colors:

This one in the phone's black or white:
http://www.amazon.com/COATED-SPIGEN...35&sr=8-4&keywords=samsung+galaxy+note+3+case
I've gotten Diztronic cases for my last few phones and I'm waiting to see their N3 variant.
I ended up getting the below. was about 20USD including shipping to me
I also got the below but I got the 3x value pack for 15-20USD including shipping to me. keeping in mind I live in New Zealand so shipping is always the dearest for me compared to rest of world
I'll be happy when these 2 arrive, and hopefully before my note 3, last time I recieved my note 2 before my screen protector, I ended up having that overally large plastic crap with the flap at the end (that it comes on with) for a week lol...
I've always been a fan of spigen, their screen protectors are perfect, it fits around everything with no gaps, unlike some protectors where they get to the home button then just drop vertically down, which means below the home button is open to elements... same with near the front camera etc, above it is open to elements... on other screen protectors I've noticed.

I have ordered the spigen ultra crystal and hybrid case too. But I'm not going to keep my hopes up since the stated shipping date is going to be late September and arriving date is mid October. I think I might get the phone before them come. That's why I bought a cheap tpu from eBay also hopefully to cover it before the two arrives from spigen.

Anyone have past experience with Bounce models?
I love the ultra-Crystal and Ultra-oleophobic from Spigen. Have used on all my phones since Captivate.
¢ via my interim device KFHD
I also ordered the Bounce case (it shipped today) and the crystal screen protectors. The Bounce case looked to be the best combination of value, looks, light weight, and protection. I'll report back on their performance once I've got everything (The screen protectors are the only item I've gotten so far)

My wife has a TPU for her HTC one and access to the buttons suck!
the bounce looks like a very light weight skin....no additional protection except the fact that it will help avoid getting your phone dinged!
I'm sure once the phone is officially out we'll be getting better cases...patience is not a virtue
OP, if you're looking at Spigen, I like the looks of this one...

Bah, they dropped the prices on the neo hybrid by $10. I'd have considered it at that price Oh well, the Bounce looks great. I'll know in a few days for sure
Spigen is really all over the road on their pricing. First the $1 promo on select items, then they jumped to $29.99, then $34.99, now down to $24.99 its fine to lower the price but they better fix the ones they charged and haven't shipped and perhaps fix those that just shipped as well. It would be good for customer relations.

Finally on their FB page they are saying if you want one to let them know. They are gauging interest, that what I read in the thread/poll about that case. Since they cannot commit to one I am looking at this instead http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=CSF2SSGT3K-DG Sedio Ledger with metal kickstand. Has magnetic closure and big S-View window. The price is right, I just wish they offered some better color options, but I might get the red/grey combo for some flash.

This looks phenomenal. Just wish it was a bit cheaper. For those who have used flip covers in the past how do you feel about them compared to regular cases? I just ordered the neo hybrid as my first note 3 case and currently have a Seidio active on my note 2 which I like(although it's a bit bulky). But I'm thinking about trying the above Seidio Ledger case when it is released. My biggest concern is it becoming a nuisance with the extra flap hanging around, especially when taking pictures or attempting to use with one hand. Thoughts? Experiences?
I had the Slim Armor View on the GS4 and I didn't find it intrusive at all, I simply flipped the cover back and used the phone as if it wasn't there. The Ledge from Seidio looks to be the same. Obviously when using the camera you won't want the cover folded back even if it does line up, the extra plastic in between the image and the lens will likely cause for crappy images.
Still its a small price to pay for full protection and a view window.

Received the Bounce from Spigen the other day and without phone inside it fits my Seidio Active holster from the Note 2 very well. The top half of the holster that the screen faces doesn't appear to be wide enough to protect it edge to edge, but sold my Note 2 on 8/31 so I cannot compare.
Yes, I am one of those that uses a holster. At work only though.
I am 6' 3" and 240lbs so I tell myself it doesn't look as obvious, but my wife and kids say otherwise

I have the bounce and it compliments the phone very well. And it looks classy to me. Gives me a good grip too. I am actually preferring it over my sview for now.
When I was considering buying the S3 and perusing it's forum, I encountered a thread, or threads, that talked about the pro and cons of various cases in respect to magnets contained within them, and potential trouble/interference/distortion of magnets on the screen and S-Pen. So, this is to start a similar discussion on this subject as I have ordered the S4 and will, almost certainly, want to use it with a case of some sort.
I have already ordered the TiMOVO Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 10.5" Case from Amazon https://1n.pm/WDzp1
but wish to see what others are doing/thinking.
I don't that is a bad choice. I like the similarities to my S3 cover. I have the S4 keyboard and it could have been better designed.
UAG case
I'm not really a fan of cases with the flip covers. I was hoping to get something with a kickstand on the back, but most that I found online were flip covers.
I was hoping for a rugged case to come out, but with very limited options I just went to a local gadget store and chose the Urban Armor Gear Exoskeleton 10". The top edges of the screen are slightly covered but with watching movies there's usually a black bar at the top and bottom of the screen so I don't really mind it. The Tab is kind of exposed but there really isn't much bulk when holding it. It has a small kickstand and a slot for the S-pen. It's not perfect but it's working well for me. Amazon has a cheaper price compared to the official UAG website.
I also have the grey model (off-white back) and opted for the black exoskeleton case. I am enjoying the contrast between the tablet and the case.

To anyone, The s pen is very easy to lose, why would you buy a case that cant hold it?
I picked up the samsung book cover from best buy today(price match amazon $54) seems pretty high quality so far. I wish UAG would make the metropolis case for this tab. That is my favorite tablet case of all time, but seem they only like apple.

thanks Scott. that's pretty reassuring, as this case would tick a lot of boxes. the S4 (esp the 256GB / 6GB / LTE version) is so damn expensive (and imported), i need to be careful

Perfect, thanks for confirming.
I'm a new Tab S4 owner, and don't have a case yet. I had the screen shatter on my first tablet, a Galaxy Note 10.1 2014, and I've been crazy scared of drops ever since. It had one of the leather / cardboard book sleeve covers. Bumped off a bed stand onto a hardwood floor, and bang! On phones and smaller tablets I've gone to Roocase and on my Galaxy Tab S2, I have a Beetle Defense cover.
It seems like book sleeve covers are much more common than heavy duty cases for the Tab S4. Especially in tandem with keyboards. Are there any that are rugged enough to protect a dropped tablet? If not, is there any concensus on the best rugged case for the S4?
Thanks,
Joe
You are probably better off searching Amazon for " shockproof rugged samsung tab s4 case " and reading the reviews. There are a number of them out there. I personally don't use one myself. At home my Tab S4 sits in the pogo charging dock in my home office on my desk. And when I'm on the road I use this case https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GXDCGLQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 If you look closely that case has a strap that goes around the back to hold the case shut and pretty well protected. Though I have yet to drop it to test it out. FWIW I had the similar case by the same company for my Tab S3 and it is still running like a champ 1.5 years later.
But when I need to take notes by hand I take the tablet out of the case as it is easier for me to write on it with no case. I don't know how much interference a rugged case would have trying to write on it in terms of ergonomics. So I'd be sure to check reviews on how hard people found to write on the tablet while in the case.
