How to boot into recovery? - Xiaomi Redmi 3 Questions & Answers

When I try to boot into recovery I'll end up in screen which is just showing a drawing from the phone.
No way to pass this. Tried every button, tried to go to recovery while starting up the phone or from updater app.
Is recovery looked by Xiaomi or does somebody how to go to "real" recovery?

Yes unfortunately the bootloader is locked so you can't access the recovery, however you can request an unlock code from Xiaomi here http://en.miui.com/unlock/

I know bootloader is looked. But I thought I can at least go to "Xiaomi-normal" recovery.
I tried to unlock but I won't get a text message after entering my phone number...what am I doing wrong?

So... Pressing Vol up + power is not booting to recovery?

Redmi 3 doesn't have recovery.

[Q]Newly unlocked bootloader, won't boot to recovery?

I just unlocked my bootloader and flashed CWMT recovery but whenever I try to boot into recovery the phone simply boots back into the factory Rom. I've tried turning off fastboot in the Rom settings but that didn't seem to help... Any ideas?
Edit: alright I can boot into recovery but it's under factory reset for some reason.adb Reboot recovery doesn't work.
Turn off fastboot. In settings.

Did you try to manually go into recovery?
- turn off phone
-press and hold volume down then press power button until the phone boots into bootloader
- use volume buttons to scroll down to recovery,
- tap power button to select recovery
and it should boot into your custom recovery

That's when it happens. I'll try manually booting into recovery, but it just ends up booting normally.

I've tried both restarting in bootloader and powering down and turning the phone back on in bootloader. Both times, from the bootloader menu, when I select recovery it goes the the 'htc' screen with 'entering recovery' at the top for about 7 seconds then goes black and boots normally.

when you select recovery and it goes to the white htc screen, at the very top does it say.. "entering recovery" ?
If not, you might try using fastboot to push a custom recovery to your phone again...
If it kicks you out of recovery as it boots into it, go into the bootloader, fastboot, and run 'fastboot erase cache' on the computer. Of course, ADB has to be setup first before running that command. I've had this happen to me a few times already, and 'fastboot erase cache' always made it work again.

Root and recovery are two different things.
To have recovery you need to install one, for locked bootloader I assume.

If you're on nemesis kernel, press power button several time, if you're using CWM for locked bootloader, press volume down key for several time until u saw the recovery!

There is no recovery built-in Sony stock kernel, as I said you will have to install one, either recovery for unlocked bootloader, or flash a custom kernel that has one built-in.

Stuck at start-up, need help!

Hi!
Last night, I installed a new custom-firmware by using Baidu ROM flash tool (not exactly the Baidu ROM). After installation, my phone rebooted, and got stuck on "Baidu" logo (a screen before the user-interface).
Is there any way to flash another rom, or do some reset?
Thank you!
Probably you should have done a factory reset on your phone before flashing Baidu. You can do this through CWM, and after this you can flash Baidu rom.
Also, you can always flash stock roms with Odin.

But how do I install CWM on my phone. It's not even rebooting in the recovery mode by pressing VOL+, MENU, and Power button.

Put your device on download mode (VOL -, menu, power buttons) and then flash CWM with Odin.

No! Not working for me. Is there any other way?
This is what it happens;
Samsung Logo - Samsung Galaxy Win GT-I8552 (appears on screen), and then Baidu Logo ; that's all!
Are you doing the process right? You must press the three buttons at same time; when your phone vibrates, you release only the power button but keep the other two pressed. A warning should appear on screen.

Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro - cant enter recovery

Hello,
i have just flashed the cm13 rom but I stuck in a "Just a sec..." window during the first registration. Now I wanted to reflash the rom but i can not enter the recovery. If i hold volume up and power it just stuck at the mi logo. At least i can enter fastboot. Is there anything i can do?
Before it was possible to enter recovery via adb.
What should i do?

Perfectly matched with my case.
I'm entering Recovery mode by reinstall the TWRP under fastboot.
Could you try the process of installing your Custom Recovery under fastboot?

[SOLVED] Getting into Recovery on the Mi Pad 2 [Latte]

So I've been putting custom ROMs on devices for years and I've never had this problem before.
Problem: I can't get into Recovery (TWRP) after I've flashed it but before MIUI restores stock recovery.
I've tried:
1) Holding Vol Up + Power as I hit "fastboot reboot"<Enter> in fastboot
2) Running the power down while in fastboot, giving it a little charge, and then holding Vol Up + Power
3) Locking the bootloader and trying both 1 & 2 again
Result
- Without locking the bootloader I get the "unlocked bootloader" message, have to hit Vol UP and then it boots into System
- With a locked bootloader it ignores my "Vol Up + Power" altogether and just boots into System
For the fun of it I tried Vol Down + Power (to get into fastboot) and had the same problem. Funny thing is if I flash back to stock, VOL UP + POWER gets me into recovery just fine.
Any ideas?

So I figured it.. reading a post in the MIUI forum (XDA won't let me include the link), I found the following:
Turn off your Mi Pad 2, Press power button to turn on Mipad 2, when MI LOGO appeared, immediately Hold down VOL UP and VOL DOWN until you see the yellow line DNX FASTBOOT MODE appears, release the buttons.
Click to collapse
My problem was I was pressing both buttons at the same time as I do with my other devices. Solution is 1) Press power button, 2) wait for MI logo to appear in the center of the screen, 3) Press VOL UP. Voila!
