Missing TXT Support with UConnect (Jeep) over BT? - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

No problems pairing the V10 to my Jeep and I can get Phonebook, Handsfree etc just fine, but it does not seem to support the reading or sending of TXT msgs from the Jeep. The TXT msg option on the Jeep is greyed out. It used to work with my G2/G3 just fine and I only noticed it was missing when after I did the TOT root on my H962 as I had to repair the phone.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Nathan

Got it working, did a UConnect update - removed the profile, added it again and made sure I selected that it was allowed to read my msgs during the pairing.

Funny thing i have similar issue and have done the pairing and deleting numerous times and no dice. So mu issues is its only one contact on my phone that doesnt come up but everything else does. Really dont know why?

[Q] SMS not working

Everything else works fine but I can not send or receive text messages. Message center phone number is set to 13123149810. Any ideas on what could be wrong. phone is stock setup
When you get phone?
Error message when send?
You try update profile?

got phone yesterday at best buy, no error message, recipient just never receives the text. This is my first android, how do i update profile?
You might just call AT&T and make sure your account settings are right. For some reason, the Note is a little different setup on the back end for AT&T than a lot of other devices - particularly if you're moving from a non-LTE phone and the guys at BB may not have setup your account correctly. Still seems a little odd everything else would work right. I always thought it was an all or nothing kind of thing but who knows.
ok, thanks for your help

Titan - Read TXT messages via Bluetooth not working

Sorry if this has been asked and answered already, but I couldn't find anything.
When I receive TXT messages while connected via bluetooth, my Samsung Focus would give me the option to read the message. For some reason my Titan doesn't do this on the same BT devices I was using with the Focus.
I can compose TXT messages and do other voice functions via BT, but I never get that new message notification and it never gives me the option to read the messages. Is there a setting or something that I am missing?
Thanks
Yes. Setting->Speech. At the bottom of that page is how you would like incoming text message be read.
Thanks. It was set to Bluetooth only already. I'll try Bluetooth and headsets and see if that fixes it.

What I found interesting of this feature is that while connected to my home phone's built-in cell phone BT gateway (which supports headset profile only), it will announce it via phone's speaker once. Then it rings my home phone until I pick it up, then announce the same thing through my home phone (via BT).
Unfortunatly that still doesn't work. Very odd
One Crucial thing that I have noticed with the reading text messages out feature, is that it Won't read anything unless you have the ringer set to sound. And I mean actually Sound not vibrate. It makes Sense, as if you don't Want your ringer to Sound, Why would you want the phone to yell out your text message?Try that and see if that Works.
Ah good call. I'm rarely more than a few feet from my phone, so lately I almost always leave it in vibrate only.
Thanks, now I can txt in the car again

Bluetooth Call Log Sync Problems?

Hi, all. Did a search, couldn't find anything on this, wondering if it's only me.
I've got the T-Mobile GS3. Use a bluetooth connection with a Pioneer AVH-P3200BT head unit (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/DVD-Receivers/AVH-P3200BT).
My contacts and Missed Calls history syncs just fine with the head unit. However, on the head unit, my Received Calls and Dialed Calls histories aren't accurate. Mostly they're filled with 5 digit numbers and a just one of my contacts (who shouldn't be in the log at all) is repeated over and over. The call log that I bring up on the GS3 is accurate.
I don't have another head unit to try to sync with, so I'm wondering if the problem is with the phone or the head unit. I'm suspecting it's the phone, as my old Vibrant's logs were always correct, regardless of whether I was running stock or CM9.
So I was just wondering if anyone else was having this problem (or whether they've even checked).
I've tried deleting the pairing on both the phone and the head unit, rebooting both, and re-establishing the pairing to no effect.
Anyone?
Bump.
Let me ask this another way. Is anybody having no problem with their Received and Dialed calls being synced with their head unit? Is yours working well (if you have this feature on your head unit)?

[Q] "Message not sent" only on SMS

I have recently purchased a new i605, rooted, unlocked, and installed TWRP through Casual. And flashed CM10.2-20130827-Nightly-i605. I finally received my SIM cutter in the mail today, and pulled the full size Straight Talk SIM out of my Skyrocket that I have been using with no issues for almost 2 years, cut the SIM, put it in the Note 2, and entered the APN settings. It is receiving good signal, showing the "H" and "H+" the majority of the time. I can make voice calls, receive voice calls, send/receive MMS, and have good data sending and receiving. My only issue is, I can only receive SMS, and when I try to send (or reply to one already received) I get the "Message not sent" error. I saw a possible fix, of updating your SMSC, but I have no clue how to find what my SMSC is in order to input it, and haven't been able to find it either. I tried editing the way the telephone numbers are stored from +1 250-250-2500, to (250)250-2500, +12502502500, +1 (250)250-2500. I also saw where someone found a fix for their situation, where they had accidentally set Google Voice to send text messages. I went into the settings on my Voice app, and that setting was turned on, so I turned it off. But I am still having the same results when trying to send an SMS.
Does anyone have a clue as to how I can find what my SMSC is, so that I can try that fix for the issue?
Did I post this in the appropriate subsection of the Verizon Note 2 forum?
I'm in the exact same situation you are. Send/receive calls, receive texts but can't send texts. I received a new note 2 through insurance two days ago and did the same process of rooting the phone, except I flashed jedix17 on it. So I'm guessing the problem lies in the roms? I haven't had time to switch roms to see if that fixes it though. I'd like to see if there's an easier alternate solution as well.
Ok, I got to playing with the "fixes" I had already attempted, for a second time. Google Voice was set to send SMS, and I would change the setting in Voice to make the messaging app send SMS. Well, I noticed that after closing Voice, then going back to the settings in Voice, it would be set to Google Voice sending SMS again. So I Force Closed the Voice app, and uninstalled it, and the issue cleared up. I have no idea why the app would be automatically changing it's own settings back, after closing it though.
I see. Then it seems you and I don't have the same root problem. I don't have an alternative texting app, so I guess I'm off to reflash my rom.

Did you figure out your issue? If you flashed Gapps, you may have Voice+. Check in your app drawer just to make sure.
Yeah I have fixed it Thanks for asking (and yeah I did check and I did not have voice). Reflashing the rom did indeed work

[Q] Bluetooth MAPI SMS exchange (with car) protocol

Hi,
I found that after a recent ROM upgrade (on my Galaxy S5) that I was no longer seeing text messages presented on the dash display of my BMW - this had previously been working. After some reading in various XDA threads and (primarily) BMW forums I discovered that someone else had resolved their issues via deleting all existing text messages and re-pairing with the car. This also worked for me...but I then restored all my backed-up SMS messages and I *think* (TBC) that it's stopped working again.
Rather than simply delete them all again, can anyone advise on available apps or debug capability which look into the operation of the bluetooth MAPI protocol which I believe is used to transfer the SMS messages to the car. I suspect that either the car or phone is somewhere maintaining an index of messages which have already been transferred and this may need to be reset.
Of course, I could just archive the messages and avoid this all!
TIA - longshot I know!
Craig
