I upgraded to Froyo yesterday and was sad to see that the native wallpaper selector for the streak was gone. You now have to crop your image and lose some of it in landscape mode. I happen to fool around with a couple of apps and have found a solution. You need to have ADW Launcher and WallSwitch, both available in the market for free. In ADW Launcher you can choose how the screen display is used. Check the function to disable wallpaper scrolling between screens, this will keep the image centered when you scroll left or right. That's pretty much it for that app. Next, in WallSwitch, make sure your settings are set to auto for Processing Method. That's it!! You can choose to have your wallpapers change automatically, and at different intervals if you like, just an added bonus if you like to have something different displayed frequently, or just turn off auto-switch to keep the same image all of the time.
oh! I almost forgot... very important... in order for your image to show up full screen with these settings, you need to have your image file resolution set at 800x378. I know it sounds weird, but after much fiddling, I have found that it is the perfect size so the app will auto crop and make the image full screen.
Hope this is of help to anyone who would like to try it.
actually 960X800 is the size I use and it fits perfectly....

How are you getting it to go full screen using the stock selector? I can only select a portion of the picture?
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
I think I've figured this out, the stock selector selects images that are 960x800 (well of that ratio anyways) but when in landscape mode, you only see the top half of the image, thats because the stock selector is catering for both landscape and portrait, so if you turn your phone to portrait mode, then you'll see the whole picture (plus swiping to the sides).
While it is in landscape mode, it is only displaying an image that is 960x480 (if using an image that is 960x800), so if you create a wallpaper that is 960x800, but then have the main image of what you want in the top of the image that is about 960x480, then when on the phone, you select the whole image, you have the main part of the image appear in full in landscape mode.
Example, see the image attached, the area in the box and above the coloured line is what will appear on the phone in landscape mode....however when you turn it in portrait mode, for this picture, you have a white strip across the bottom. Hope this helps people.
The question is, is there anyway of getting the UI to show the bottom half of the image instead of the top? (Using Launcher Pro Plus)
I have more decent images with something that is along the bottom that I do that is along the top if you know what I mean.
Thought I'd Share
Thought I'd share my current wallpaper, managed to find these two images that has most detail along the top half of the image (bar the Aston, I had to mod it slightly ). Again, these are 960x800 images but I've made sure that the main part of the image is within the 960x480 of the image. Oh and for some reason, when the phone is locked or in the clock dock mode, the wallpaper shifts to the middle of the image too, proper weird!
Download JustPictures app from the market, it lets you set the wallpaper without any cropping, i am official froyo and its working perfect and so far I am able to set any picture as my full screen wallpaper, hope that helps....

Just tried this app and I'm still stuck with the square crop box, is there anything in particular you are doing to change this? I find the picture I want, press the menu button, then choose "use picture as..." then "set as wallpaper" and then I have a crop box appear.

Getting the same thing, it still crops it.
Very nice download! Thanks for sharing!
Does anyone know if the default resolution can be modified? I really like this phone but the icons on the screen and the text under them are small. I was wondering if a custom rom can give the user the option to to adjust resolution. I downloaded spare parts from the market and was able to make changes to the font size in most apps but the settings dont apply to the regular home screen... Thanks
Once full root is achieved you can use a screen density app to change it, doesn't play well with sense roms though
You want the resolution bumped down by the way.. going up will make it smaller

Try spare parts plus in the market. It works decent for increasing font. But it will revert if you rotate the phone and then you have to go back into the app and select the font size again. I just turn off auto rotation in display settings when I'm using it in portrait. Then if I want to use it in landscape I open up spareparts plus then select normal font the rotate my phone then hold home reopen the app and select the large font. But it will also revert once I rotate back into portrait. Also I keep a short cut to display settings on my home screen to make the transition quicker. Overall its a decent app and its free with no ads. Hope this helps.

I currently have an HTC Flyer which I got after finding my Transformer tablet was just too big. But I found that due to the lower resolution screen of the Flyer, many apps display single panes instead of the side-by-side panes. So I have to hit the back button quite a bit.
Since the Springboard has a higher-resolution screen, could someone tell me if Gmail and Google Reader (the one from Google, not the 3rd party ones...) display in the dual side-by-side pane view like on a 10" screen, or if one pane hides the other like on a phone or my HTC Flyer?
Screenshots for bonus points!
Not sure about the reader but Gmail displays dual panes.

Sorry, I should have been clearer.
Does it stay in dual-pane view even when you're reading the body of a message?
My 10" Transformer kept my messages list on the left, my HTC Flyer goes into single-pane view when I actually select a message to read.
Yes. App opens with folders on Left and messages on Right. Selecting a message moves the message list to the Left and the email body is shown on the Right. That's in landscape orientation with the display in high definition mode. No dual pane in in portrait orientation. Also, this is with ICS installed. Don't recall how Honeycomb behaves.

But now I'm wondering if Google will announce the Nexus Tablet next week and if that will have a high-res or a lower-res display...
Decisions, decisions...
Hi everyone, I noticed in this video the split-screen is arranged as up and down when the screen is in portrait mode
However, my tab s6 split-screen is arranged as left and right when the screen is in portrait mode. Does anyone know how to change the split-screen to be up and down (not left and right) when the screen is in portrait mode? I'm currently in One UI 2.5. Thanks, everyone.
Swipe from the corner of the screen, then open another app and do the same. Resize both to required dimensions.
I am also facing the same problem. Was it resolved for anyone?
I figured it out! I was confused by your post because I wasn't sure how to select the window and drag them. In Case anyone else maybe couldn't figure it out even though your post was clear, my issue is that the long press time was too high since I just got the tablet. So I thought it wasn't working.
All you do is long press on the little blue bar that's at the top middle of each window . Then you can freely drag it anywhere just as arobase said.
Anyone know if it's possible to always open the app (assuming the user has an app open) in side-by-side mode when unfolding?
Presumably this would need to be done with Tasker...
for that I use "Split Screen Launcher" in the play store BY paprikanotfound
*note sometimes it might be glitchy if one app was already open. but its a good enough way.
Actually you can do this natively by launching the apps in split-screen, then taking the splitter and saving to the home screen.
What I want though is for the app that your currently using in fold mode - when you unfold it automatically is on the left side of the screen and the home-screen shows on the right ready for you to launch a second app...
in that case you might be able to do it by using a new profile
choose State > Display Orientation > Landscape
then create a task for it search for split screen toggle and voila
*note this require my xml file

unfortunately using custom launcher breaks the default split screen shortcuts at least on my device.
