Quick question, more i read more im confused since im new to wear/android etc.
I've read that niel4052 bright idea topic below pure haxxx but just want to be sure on that matter ...
Currently there's no way to put .apk's / watchfaces run ADB through bluetooth on this watch right.... Or do anything really?
Is there any progress in any way or some method coming in next few months or its rather abandoned watch?
I'm not sure how I did it (and I'm scared to try to recreate it in case I lose it), but I've managed to get bluetooth debugging working while paired with my iPhone. It requires another Android device.
I'm not sure the steps I took exactly, but I think what did it was this:
Paired the device with my Galaxy S2X using the Wear app (like normal), then paired it as a bluetooth device with my iPhone (using the Bluetooth menu in the watch settings)
Enabled ADB Debugging/bluetooth debugging on the watch and in the Wear app, and connected at least once to the shell (so it can authorize and remembers the device ID). Instructions here.
Factory reset the watch, and then paired it using the Wear app on the iPhone
Make sure you do not "Forget" the watch on the Android device!
On the Galaxy, I went into bluetooth devices and the watch was still paired so I tried to connect (the device name matched what the iPhone found it as). I got a pairing request on the watch and accepted it.
In the Wear app on the Galaxy, I went into settings and down to Debugging Over Bluetooth, the Target showed as connected.
Try to connect to BT debugging as normal (as shown above). The Host should now show connected in Wear on the Android phone.
Download and use 'adb -e install' as much as you would like to install APKs!
As a note, obviously any wear app that requires a companion app (Wear Mini Launcher ) won't work properly.
I've synced Google Maps (which works great, and I'm not sure why it's not packaged with Wear for iOS), Calculator, a few games, some more watch faces. It makes the watch a bit more usable!

Hello everyone,
It's been a long time since I have viewed the XDA forums. A brief background of what I was working to accomplish was to activate and use an Android wear device without pairing to a phone. I did not find any articles online or procedures for this. What this method allows you to do is pair, fetch software, and get notifications (email etc.), via your PC. The basic test setup is running Android x86 v4.4-RC2 as a virtual machine under Parallels on a Macbook Pro. Steps are listed below. Hope this helps in others endeavors.
1. Initially install Parallels desktop. (Virtualbox was tested but would not work with the Bluetooth hardware_
2. Run the pre-configured experimental Android VM from Parallels initially creating the virtual machine.
3. After successfully installing the new Android VM bundled download Android x86 v4.4-RC2 iso.
4. Shutdown the initially created VM and mount the iso to a virtual cd drive. Set boot order to start with cd first.
5. After startup in grub go to the install Android option (last one)
6. During the install allow formatting of the virtual drive and overwrite the initial operating system that was installed with the new version.
7. After startup of the new virtual machine with the correct image setup your Google account to access the play store.
8. Download Google Wear and install.
9. Go to the vm settings while running and check to share both Bluetooth and web cam USB devices.
10. Go to settings in the Android VM and then Bluetooth. Attempt to pair with the watch.
11. A prompt will come up in the actual OS to pair with the watch, this is ok click on pair in the main os.
12. The main os will say the watch is not connected but the guest Android VM will now recognize the watch and start the pairing process.
13. Once pairing is complete simply use all functions that would normally be used in the virtual machine.
13a. In order to receive text message notifications by your computer when paired use a carriers text app such as Verizons connect app.

Hi! I registered just to say thanks, and this post gives me hope.
However, my Android install still refuses to turn on the bluetooth and it flips back to off whenever I turn it on.
Im using 4.4 R2 on Parallells 10 (the latest update). I've selected Webcams and Bluetooth in the Parallels config settings, but my Pebble software still cant connect.
Could you give a bit more detail (Steps 9, 10 and 11) on how to turn on the bluetooth? (maybe with a couple screenshots).
I'm using a Summer 2012 13" macbook pro 2.5GHz Core I5 with 16gb RAM Yosemite. My VM has 2GB RAM
Cheers!
I want to make sure this works before I go out and actually buy an LG G Watch R (The dopest looking smartwatch in existence)
---------- Post added at 08:44 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:31 AM ----------
I restarted the VM and the BlueTooth is working now!!
WTF!!!
I first Paired the Pebble to the Macbook Pro, then the VM found it in the bluetooth menu and now I'm connected!
Awesome!!
ummm, am I missing something or will this just allow connection via Bluetooth to a computer that sits at home and will never leave so your watch will never connect more than 50ft away? I love the idea but what does this accomplish? Not bashing, more curious

Well, Debugging for one. Second, I only own an iPhone, but I love the LG G Watch R, and there is no way in hell I'm buying an Android phone. So I use the VM to activate it and load watch faces, and now I have a cool watch on my wrist with various faces.
The Idea that I HAVE to use it with my phone is ridiculous. I can use it however I want to! Like the iPod Nano 6th gen I still own with a Lunatik watch strap, it's the cool factor for me right now, until I can use android wear with my iPhone
Hi, I am able to install, and run Android 4.4 on parallels on my mac. However, once I enable bluetooth for the android OS it does not find my watch, let alone any of the other bluetooth devices in my apartment. Do you know if there is any way to force the OS to find a device? Or perhaps it really isn't connecting with my computer's bluetooth device at all?
I purchased an LG G Watch R and I started it up by pairing with an android in the store, and I was able to pair the watch to the macbook itself, but not through the android OS running on parallels. Am I missing anything here?
Thank you!
how you install apk to watch?)

Hi there,
I'm started reading this forum and this thread cause I also have no android device. I've the same problems connecting a moto 360 to the Android VM on parallels.
My Mac is paired with the watch but the VM not.
Did anyone has a hint how to share the Mac Bluetooth with the Android VM so the smart watch is in the Android VM?
@smartwatchLG Could you connect your watch now?
same problem as others. I get everything installed and moto paired with macbook, but it wont connect to vm. I know bluetooth is working on vm because it detetects my iphone but not my watch for some reason.
Ok, something I found out is that if you are like me and previously synced your watch with another device then you must reset the watch for this to work.
@matrixfatalerror
Thanks a lot mate, got the Moto 360 up and running.
Only 1 Question left. Did you manage to get the "Moto Connect App" working? Every time I open it and try to change the Watch Face Settings it keeps crashing. Would love to use personalized custom Watch Faces.
Best

my parallel can't show any bluetooth .. my lg g watch or iPhone
what setting i must change
thanks for this howto - work for me on a macbook air with yosemite. Only challenge was to get bluetooth connection established but took a while until I had it connected through the VM with passcode given in OSX.
Installation of shiitakeo android for ios worked as well as the motorola extras
Have you gone into settings and turned Bluetooth on inside your parallels android install.
Here is a video tutorial that I made based off of your instructions. Great job on figuring this out BTW.

I sold my old LG square G Watch to my son a while back (at discounted price because he wanted to blow his savings on a brand new one); also I was hoping to get a new round watch. I turned off some notifications in the Android Wear settings so he couldn't mess with my phone or see certain notifications like texts from my wife. He has on several occasions messed with my phone by changing navigation while we are driving or skipping music.....
So now I just got the Urbane for my birthday How can I get these notifications back for me on Urbane but prevent them from showing on his G Watch (in the android wear app, these "general" settings apply to all watches)? Should I just disconnect his watch from my phone? I put some games and music on his, would he lose those? Also have watchmaker on his and send him a new watchfaces now and then. Would the existing stuff on his watch keep working?
He has an ipad, would there be any reason/advantage to connect his G watch to ipad instead?
Thanks!
You can't unpair his watch if you want the apps to stay on there; it does a factory reset. If you turn off bluetooth, the games etc won't work either. Pairing it to his ipad gives him limited ability to change watch faces, that's all I'm aware of that you can control via ios on Wear.
It's really meant to pair up with your own phone.
You, Sir, have an interesting family ... NO offense! When you give this kind a device to anyone, it is recommended to make a factory reset so the other person could set it the way he/she likes.
Hey XDA developers, I need your help.
I recently gave my girlfriend my Asus Zenwatch 2, since I just bought the Zenwatch 3. She has an iPhone, and the watch faces she can set up are very limited. Is there a way to load third party watch faces on the ZW2 connected to an iPhone? I've heard of methods that require plugging a watch through USB but I don't think that's possible with Zenwatch. Could there be any other method?
Thank you guys
From what I have read, Android Wear on iOS is a pale imitation of the Android version. You can't download new faces and iOS refuses to allow it to run as a service. It also lacks access to other Google services, and Apple refuses to let it integrate with Siri. All in all, it seems like iOS support for Android watches is more of a gimmick than anything else.
However, to answer your question, unfortunately, while the ZW2 (and AW in general) will store faces for offline use, the only way to repair is to factory reset. That means that temporarily connecting it to your Android device is out.
Your only hope, as far as I can tell, is to see if there is a way to repair without the factory reset using a root method. I'm not aware of any, though.
If you can find the APK for the face you want off of like apkmirror you can enable adb debugging from developer options and install with adb install app.apk or you can do it through TWRP if you unlocked the bootloader with adb sideload app.apk.
I wonder if its possible to connect amazfit to multiple devices imagine i have my phone that is connect to amazfit at the moment but i would like to connect to my tablet to .
Is this possible ???
What Amazfit device are you talking about? The watch/Pace? Probably not, because the Amazfit Watch app requires reading a QR code for pairing, and it's not trivial to get it shown after it's already paired. But why would you like to do it? You can try and tell us, after you find out how to show the QR code after the match is paired. And if you explain why you'd want this, maybe there's something else you can do to communicate the watch to two devices...
no.
I have it connected to 2 phones.
If I remember right I just installed the Amazfit app on second phone and logged in with my account.

You sir are right. Thank you very much!
It can but you are a bit limited in options I think.
You can connect it to a phone and BT headset at the same time (Stratos at least). I haven't tried to connect it to many other devices because what's the use?

At work I have 2 phones with me all the time, my company issued and my personal phone. I want to get notifications on both of them on the smart watch.
Can you test please if it will work?

I don't have my Amazfit watch anymore, so can't test.
I'm using a Fitbit Ionic now, but miss my Amazfit sometimes..
Watchdroid app can be used for notifications, cant that be used on multiple devices?
in case you try to connect to android and iphone same time with amazfit app stratos watch you get a notification to uninstall in android first
To summarise:
1. You can connect two devices to the same phone, at least as long as they are different models. Here is a video with Pace and Stratos:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBmSwKN058E
2. You cannot connect the same device to more than one phone. As a work around, you can try to use Amazfit app on one phone and WatchDroid on another (or WD on both, maybe it works). Be aware that it might decrease battery life.
Original question in thread again. Can you connect Amazfit Stratos to an android tablet or IPad instead of your phone? Why? Screen too small on phone for my eyesight.

If you can install and login to Amazfit Watch app, then you can (the tablet must have Bluetooth 4.1 - aka BLE - and a camera, of course, or you can use a workaround to transfer the watch to your account on the tablet).
Hello everyone,
I've got an 'error: This device cannot start (Code 10) after manually installing Android ADB Device driver within Window's Device Manager. Android ADB Device is displayed with a yellow exclamation mark. This results in a blank answer after 'adb devices'. In other words: my laptop cannot connect to my watch and thereby I can't install Watch Droid Assistant on my watch.
I really need this app because of it's notification history feature, even after opening the notification (just like the amazfit Bip has)!
And secondly because of the possibility of increasing the font size.
Does anyone know the cause & the solution?
Thanks in advance!
Robert.
P.S. While being a newbie on 'tweaking' the Amazfit Stratos, I've some additional questions:
1. Will installing Watch Droid Assistant void warranty (unlocking the bootloader?)?
2. Are there risks of bricking my Amazfit Stratos (how high?)?
3. Is it (after installling WDA) possible to install additional apps such as a calculator or calendar etc. ? Or do I need Applist?
Used hardware, software and versions:
Watch Droid Assistant (27.03.2018 - version 6.1)
Amazfit Stratos (US version, FW: 2.3.4.0)
Windows 7 Home Premium (SP1 64-bit)
I've used "15 seconds ADB Installer v1.4.3.exe" from XDA website (ADB: yes, system-wide: no, device drivers: yes).
1. Installing WD won't void anything, as with any other APK. Unlocking bootloader will void watch's warranty as soon as you enter the code to unlock it.
2. Almost zero, unless you are very unlucky. Uninstall or a factory reset will remove any apps from watch.
3. You can add other apps, but be aware that the watch has only 512MB of RAM so you don't want to install anything that runs in the background, slowing it down.
As for the drivers, if removing the device and/or forcing a driver refresh doesn't work, you may need to disable driver signature on Win 64-bits (bcdedit /set TESTSIGNNING OFF), something like this:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...est-mode-message-that-is-displayed-in-windows
theres an app for receiving messages and theres a thread in this forum about it. look for notifications for amazfit (with a red icon) on the google play store. its nice and simple, allows you to change text size and all. and its very cheap.
last watch and app updates kind of messed it up a little but the devs seem to be very caring and may be already looking for solutions. all in all, its usable now.
Thank lfom

watch droid assistant?
thanks
I had a problem with my usb connection on my Pace. Turns out the two pins for the usb connection were corroded. But I managed to install apks (especially Watch Droid assistant), through wifi and ADB commands.
Again, this has been done on an Amazfit Pace, through ADB commands on Linux, specifically on Kubuntu 18.04. I don't have the Stratos, so I don't know if this applies to that watch.
1. Go to Settings - Connection - WiFi and connect to your WiFi network. Now this is important. In order to maintain connection, you have to be in the WiFi tab AND keep the screen on at all times, until you finish the installation (look for an app called Pace-On, for later installations).
2. Find your watch's IP. I did that by looking on my router's connected devices.
3. Open terminal (or CMD) and type adb connect and put your watch's IP. Example:
adb connect 192.168.0.15
4. Type adb devices, to make sure and verify that your device is connected.
5. Type adb install /path/to/apk/application.apk
(Where /path/to/apk/application.apk is the path you downloaded or placed your app) If you get an error or failure of installation (it usually happens when you have an older version of the same app) try to type
adb install -r /path/to/apk/application.apk
Another way is to manually delete the old version app and install the new one. You'll figure it out.
6. Wait for it to finish. When it does, see if the app is installed on your watch. You don't (usually) have to restart the watch, but if you feel that there is a need to do so, then do so.
That's it! Hope it helps.
