EliteKernel 140628 & EliteKernel KitKat 150429
Turbo just got a new meaning.
For international HTC One X+ only. NOT for AT&T!
This experimental kernel is a tweaked version of HTC stock kernel for Android 4.2.x, therefore works with HTC Sense 5.
EliteKernel aims to provide:
- faster raw speed at lower frequencies
- decrease heat under heavy load
- optimize CPU, memory, I/O and native performance
- high stability
- more features
Be aware that I made this kernel primarily for myself, I may go to extremes to squeeze the last bit of performance out of my device. I guarantee no support whatsoever and any modifications you make to your device are solely your responsibility.
Usage:
1) download, extract the folder somewhere
2) connect your international One X+
3) open "oxp_flash_elitekernel.bat"
4) follow simple instructions
NOTE: The kernel has all necessary modules embedded, it should work with any ROM without any additional flashing steps. Also you don't need to reinstall/reflash when you change your ROM.
NOTE: On stock ROM - you need to install root and busybox!
If by any chance you don't get radio/wifi signal, you need to install latest superuser and busybox versions, then flash kernel again.
Do NOT use SetCPU and similar, they do not support tegra drivers and will break stuff so don't complain!
Please do not request features via PM or spam the thread repeatedly, I heard you the first time and either don't like the idea or am already working on it...
Features planned if possible:
- currently none
Many thanks to all the great devs of various parts and modules that made this possible.

READ ME FIRST:
If you have problems, try to flash older versions chronologically before reporting it. Find the newest version where the problem did not yet occurr and describe it to me in this thread along with the ROM you are using. If you won't state the last working version I most likely cannot help you!
For problems with video players/convertors being choppy or slow, make sure you install the corresponding ARMv7 NEON codec package and enable hardware acceleration in options. The kernel will not let you abuse the CPU and kill your battery, you need the correct codec and uninstall all other codecs for the application.

just flash via normal method (Recovery) right?
just wanted to clarify something, you said you tried to squeeze as much performance as possible, does that mean you OC'd or something?
Read the first post.
You can't flash kernels via recovery unless you have s-off. The download contains a one-click fastboot package.
Performance increase is not achieved by overclocking, quite the contrary this should produce better (lower) temperatures at identical frequency ranges. It's all software optimizations so far.
thanks mate
Thanks:good:
hi,
thx , oxp EliteKernel + insertcoin work's great,
Hi,
Flashed your Kernel, thanks very much :good:
Tried to get back into Recovery after though and couldn't.
Flashed the Stock kernel back again and could get back into recovery without issues again..
Looking forward to any future releases :highfive:
you're saying we can't go to recovery with this kernel?
Am I?
adb reboot recovery
Or hold power and vol down until you get to hboot, then recovery.
Worked for me every time and I am flashing like crazy.
Sent from my Desire Z powered by EliteMod.
Lags with video playing (MXPlayer and DicePlayer) on 1080p mp4 music clips. Energy saving was on|off. Return back to kernel from Maximus ROM and everything is OK - smooth playing without gaps.
I'll take a look, may be I/O or the fact that I disabled special CPU treatment for media to save battery.
Just downloaded a random 1080p video off youtube and tried a 3GB 720p movie and it works perfectly at just 51-1400MHz ondemand.
Maybe you are not using HW acceleration, other kernels may let you get away with that, this one actually has active battery saving features
I would suggest:
1) download the correct codec pack for your MX Player (ARM7 Neon)
2) start MXPlayer, go to settings-decoder and enable H/W+ decoder
If it doesn't work, upload some short sample clip that doesn't work for testing.

Flashed back your kernel, install codec pack for MX Player (ARM7 Neon), check that it has h/w acceleration. and lags again ((((

Works perfectly here, no dropped frames, crisp sound both battery and charging. I'm on Revolution ROM, 51-1400MHz ondemand.
Tested MX player, QuickPic, Rock Player HW, HTC gallery player.
Rock player CPU is not up for it but HW mode is flawless.
So it must be something specific to your ROM and video drivers/codecs, you can try to push video drivers from revolution but nandroid backup first.

I installed, but the version has not changed
My xperia m4 works very slow ( UI and apps). I have got 2 gb free space. How to speed up my phone? My Antutu score is 29 000. Sorry for my english.
Model : E2303
Market: Baltic Generic
Release: 26.1.A.3.92 / R9A
Recovery : TWRP RC3
Rom: AOSGP 2
Root : yes, Super Su
Well, you can change your cpu governor with any cpu control app, you can also try greenify for hibernating your apps, sd maid pro for cleaning up the cache and other stuff.
Sent from my E2303 using Tapatalk
As you have root, advise use Adiutor kernel to increase cell performance by setting the governor of GPU and CPU and frequency, even with a custom rom you are subject to the performance of blocking sony trying to avoid overheating (which honestly It serves no purpose with or without blocking heats mt), as the rom AOSGP was based on the stock rom xperia m4 aqua.
How to set up Kernel Adiutor for no lags ?
My device too gets 29'000 points on Antutu bench, and sometimes is laggy (newest firmware - 3.111). I hope that Android 6.0 will fix these problems. Also, I don't know what Sony have put in this ROM, but it is 10x slower than the CM 12 Alpha 2.
I have performance issues too. My 2 year old z1 compact is way faster than My 2303 even though i removed a lot of bloatware. It drains the battery faster too. Very annoying. Hope someone develops a decent custom kernel and rom to make it better.
A fast, smooth running Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 with Nougat 7.1.1, is it possible? Sure, but it is best not to use the latest ROM build. After many tests and comparisons of various Nougat ROMs based on LineageOS I've found out this. The development of the ROM is ongoing very quick, but it's made for many devices. The performance of the CPU is not taken into account. Our S2 is now some years old (since 2011) and has only a CPU with two cores. Standard today is at least a phone with quad core CPU.
Comparing a Nougat 7.1.1 ROM from February 2017 with a current build clearly shows you that the older one runs much faster. This is mainly noticeable when scrolling or if you open apps. In the current ROM there are often lags, it simply needs more performance.
To get the maximum out, a few tweaks with a modded Kernel Adiutor from XDA are necessary, the CPU frequency is set to minimum and maximum 1200 MHz. The battery drain of course is a bit higher - not much, but you have more joy with a smooth running S2.
What do you need for this?
I did made the best experience with AICP 12.1 ROM, build in February 07 2017. you get it here. It runs very stable for daily usage. Only the camera app Snap.apk is buggy at video recordings. You can change this by installing the latest one in my attachment.
The modded XDA Kernel Adiutor is attached too.
The CPU and ondemand governor settings (CPU Governor Tunables) you see on my screenshots. Make sure that the "Apply on boot" toggle is set to on.

Jelly Bean has its own, "built-in" recovery. Unfortunately, I am not aware of whether you can take another recovery for it. I know there is a flashable CWM recovery via Odin for the S2 (I have it here). But this is intended for flashing custom ROMs.
@Nobby1960

I allways used this file "PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSJ-OXX-4.00b21-signed-JB.zip" and installed it via stock Recovery. (no waranty void message after rebooted system). Copy this file on your SDCard, reboot in Recovery Mode and flash it. Now you can keep runing your device on stock ROM or you can install a custom one with this recovery.

Thank you for information. The ROM is no more available on the AICP server. I did upload it to a one click hoster (upload.net) The link in my first post works now again.
Would you still recommend this rom today ? or would the official lineage 7.1.2 be better than this now ?

Compared with the latest AICP 12.1 build from 07/10 it's not necessary to jump back to this older version. The performance from all latest Lineage based ROMs became better. The only thing I use the Kernel Adiutor with the performance settings from my first post. I think you can also use the latest official plain vanilla Lineage 7.1.2.
Hi,
thanx for your instructions. I have tried it!
One problem with the setting where i'm unsure: at the end of the settings, the core2 disabled itself and the minimum frequency was set to 100 automatically. I changed the frequency back to 12.000. Is that OK, or should i leave it at 100 ?
btw. I still have installed stock_kernel_twrp_1120. Is that OK, or do i need another kernel?
Anyway, at this point the CPU tweak has made the perforance a little faster, but it's still much worse than Android 4.12
On 4.12 i was running 5 aktive apps the same time without problems. (Navi, RadarWarning, Mp3, GPSLog, + 1 temporarly app)
On Lineage 14.1 the Mp3 already beginns to stutter and the systems gets very slow when i run only 2 Apps. If i start more apps they beginn to chrash.
So i want to ask, is it possible somehow to get the same (or even better) performance with a custom rom like with the original stock 4.12 ?
Thanks for Info,
Rooster
Hi,
hmm - all settings are correct from the governor like the screenshots in Kernel Adiutor? Both CPU frequencies should set to 1200 MHz. In idle time core 2 stops to save battery, but it must switch up at load to 1200 MHz automatically.
The stock_kernel_twrp_1120 is okay to install this ROM. If you boot in recovery after installation you must see the newer TWRP 3.0.2-1 and you can flash the latest TWRP 3.1.0-0 as an .img file.
The problem with Nougat and most modern apps is, the generally RAM consumption gets higher and higher - that's the biggest bottleneck. So the S2 with only 784 MB comes faster to its limits at multitasking than with the latest stock ROM 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and older, more slim apps. Unfortunately there is no chance to get a higher performance with Nougat. There you feel the age of our good old phone from 2011, it came first with Android 2.3.x Gingerbread

thank you. hopefully for A6+ series also
my opinion fast charging not really necessary, for A6+ charging already fast and i prefer to choose default speed charging and long lasting battery than modified/faster charging but degrade battery life span.
so, for this "fast" charging feature thing, you better make 2 version of kernel... (default and modified charging speed)

Sadly, I will not support A6+ because it's a completely different phone with a Snapdragon 450 chip. I work on Exynos7870 phones, specifically this A6. About the fast charging, its up to the user how well they want to treat their battery. With faster charging or not, don't think the difference will be that big since the limitation is the charger. For example, I used to always charge my phone from my PC because it has low current and limit my battery to charge only to 80%. Now i only do the 80% thing but still. My J5 17 is 9 months old and it has only lost 200mAh of its battery capacity.

According to my post, the 1146Mhz overclock is optional.
Although I think the default clock is 1001 so i still have to fix it
Hi Renoxtv, I really appreciate your work u have done for the improvement of Samsung a6. But I request you to not only fix the GPU clock but also I think It would be great to have the GPU overclocked to 1146 mhz. Bcoz it has only one core and for gaming performance it MUST be overclocked to 1146 mhz. Hoping the best from you.

GPU OC is optional and will remain optional, I don't want complains about battery life. You can overclock your GPU manually with this app: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tnWJvqhvj3s41V1LMRdrtyGYCsLEwNbV/view?usp=sharing (thanks for @DarkLord1731 for app)
Go to GPU tab, select min and max GPU frequency to 1146, set Mali Power policy to always_on and set GPU governor to Booster. Revert settings when you are done with your gaming, otherwise the GPU will always run at 1146MHz even when you're not playing and it will waste your battery. Anyway, A6 is not a gaming phone in any means and this kernel won't improve it a lot. I know the GPU OC is a little complicated but for now this is what we are stuck with
Hi Renoxtv, thank you for replying so fast. I downloaded the kernel control app u provided in ur post. Everything gone as u told. Thanks to @DarkLord1731 too for his amazing kernel app. Now I can overclock the GPU as per my requirements. U are right that Samsung A6 is not the handset for gamers. But due to ur custom kernel the little overclocking in CPU and GPU will surely improve the gaming performance a bit. By the way keep up the good work and best of luck to u. :good:

If you already rooted your A6 before, installing the kernel is easy. You just download the latest kernel and flash it with TWRP. If you haven't rooted your phone, you must install custom TWRP recovery menu, go here to go to the TWRP thread, there are detailed instructions on how to install TWRP there, follow them strictly. If you successfully installed TWRP, you can then flash this kernel like you would install the rmm bypass zip and no-verity zip.

MY PROBLEM RMM PRENORMAL ?!
thanks
I have a problem, I have tried with several ROMs based on stock miui9 and miui10 and none of them work with me Kernel auditor, to be more exact I put the CPU in perfomance so that they go ah their maximum speed but when playing critical ops the fps do not they are stable, they go down and go up between 40 and 60, whereas in the rom pixel experience with Kernel auditor they remain stable, between 58 and 60fps, is there any way for Kernel auditor to work in stock?
