I've seen a lot of people having issues on their LS990 with Fulmics. I found an easy solution, it is a flashable aroma installer zip, lets you choose Sprint, Boost, Ringplus, FreedomPop etc. It edits some apn, eri.xml, etc.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...t/flashable-lte-fix-moto-e-6-x-boost-t3290719
Do note, after every reboot you have to go into Mobile Networks and change from Global, to LTE/CDMA, back to Global, for LTE to kick in. It'll stay stable but you have to repeat that after every reboot, not much of a hassle.
I have working LTE, 3G, SMS and Calls with this. MMS I do not use and I have not tested.
It works, personally I had LTE issues on CM13 as well on my LS990 and that fixed it to.
Credits to thread owner for the zip file, and to Fulmics for their amazing rom.
just no PRL/Profile updates correct?

Hello,
I am currently running a VZN SCH-I545 MDK on a AT&T network that has worked perfectly for all pre-LP versions and ROMs. Although when I try to update to a LP ROM, my mobile data doesn't work. I get an exclamation mark next to the signal bars even though data is on. I do get phone signal and wifi works. Am I missing something when updating to a LP ROM? Is this an issue when porting from VZN to AT&T when LP hasn't been released?
1. I tried several LP ROMs, but the only one that has worked so far is Dirty Unicorns 9.2.
2. I always do clean flashes
Any help would be appreciated greatly!

So I found the fix... for me using a Verizon phone on an AT&T network, then the mobile data settings are incorrect when installing LP ROMs. Somehow I got it to work when I messed with the following -
1. Preferred network type to LTE (preferred)
2. APN set to wap.cingular or pta (?)
3. Dialed *#*#4363#*#*
i flashed fulmics ROM just before others posted that it has issues on VS985 (3G only + laggy WiFi). since this is not going to work for me, i tried moving to CandySiX but had to reflash fulmics due to baseband incompatibility. since then, i have decided to stick with LP for a while and want to flash XDABBEB's VS985. is it safe to do so? it seems like it should be since it has the full bootstack for flashing. however, i really don't want to brick my phone...
btw, fulmics is 30b while XDABBEB's VS985 is 35b.
i have attached a screenshot of my software info.
many many thanks!
i found some courage and flashed XDABBEB's VS985 following the instructions and it went smoothly.
i wish that there was some way to remove the VS985 from the list of supported phones from fulmics ROM since i don't think that anyone would consider 3G only to be supported. it is likely due to the difficulty of supporting CDMA when you don't actually have a CDMA phone to test on.
In my case I've been using Fulmics during a couple of weeks and it shows thw 4G connection icon. After flashing I get no sim, but fulmics tweaks has the verizon hidden menu where you can select the network mode in Modem Protocol section. Hope it helps.

Hi there, im sorry, can you rephrase that since I'm interested in using Fulmics.
Are you saying that you have the VS985 and are using Fulmics AND still have 4G icon? And to do so, what exactly did you have to select in the network mode in the hidden menu ?
Thanks,

Yes, in my case I've selected network mode automatic in the hidden menu, at this point it recognises my sim and prompts for the pin number. After that I go again to the modem protocol and select LTE band selection and select band 3.
Finally to check everything is right go to the normal network advanced options in settings, to see if anything is selected in network mode and select the desired, in my case is automatic 2G/3G/4G.
That worked for me.
So got my phone rooted and ready to accept a custom ROM. Now what ever ROM I flash I get no cellular data. Only when I am on WIFI do I get data. On my status bar it shows my LTE connection to T-Mobile with a ! in it. Am I supposed to flash or do something else when flashing a ROM? I used the latest version of TWRP 3.0.2-0
OK if I revert back to the stock Oxygen OS 2.2.1 ROM it now works fine. What would cause flashing a custom ROM not to have signal?
No data means ur using the wrong cm13 version(i have no data problems on ashwins build.) or maybe your apns just arent configured. Google for your provisers apn configs and set them manually. Also validate that you can see your IMEI on the phone.

I got the CM from the forum here.
You missed the point.

AW OK got what you mean Downloaded Beanstalk CM13 still same problem. Flashes fine then I have no data no signal at all from T-Mobile. Only the stock Oxygen OS ROM works.
Just gave up. Went back to Stock recovery and stock ROM and locked my boot loader. Everything now works as intended. Not sure why all 10 ROM's I tried would flash and load fine but I would have no cell signal strange....
If you need to manually set APN settings go to Settings > SIM cards > SIM 1 settings > APN config.
There click on one APN-setting in the list to open it. Change everything you need, including the name (example: name: Hollandsnieuwe, APN: live.vodafone.com, username: vodafone, password: vodafone, MCC: 204, MNC: 04, APN-type: default, APN-protocol: IPv4, Roaming protocol for APN: IPv4, the rest is blank) then click: Menu > Save. Then go back to the APN list and click the dot right to the entry you just created. Then restart your phone and you should have the new settings active.
By the way: In OOS 2.2.1 you don't have these settings but they are probably already righteous.
I have this problem too but I saw a fix somewhere and cannot find it
Yeah I got it to work finally. It was the APN setting thing. But what is odd is, if I use the T-Mobile APN settings it will not work. If I use MetroPcs (Which T-Mobile owns) then it will work fine. So go figure....

APN is fine. I also have the same APN in other ROMs. I'm also on Telekom.mk (ex T-Mobile Macedonia)
Tmob no.. Roaming +
If I'm on any rom other than OOS I can use data when roaming (99.9% AT&T tower) but have issues with data on T-mobile. However OOS = no roaming data, but no t-mobile data problems. CM 13 and MM roms are useless for a daily driver. I can't recall which MM rom I tried recently but I could not get it to register on t-mobile LTE network even in areas where Tmob was the leading network.
I am getting pretty tired of onyx... I have other network issues with the recent update.

Never ever re-lock your bootloader, it could bug it out so that you can not unlock it again and/or strange things can happen.
Be glad if you are not affected, but if you unlock it again, keep it that way since it's of no disadvantages to have it unlocked.
Hey all. So I'm flummoxed.
I have an LS998 that I Frankenverted to US99820a and then flashed to VS996 20d. Everything had been great, as I've had this setup for probably a month or so without issues. Everything worked fine ... until a few days ago. Although I can't be positive, I know just about the time that I failed the magisk update, I lost the ability to send mms pictures.
I spent the next few days playing around with my settings. I tried Network Settings resets (didn't work), Restoring Default Settings to APNs (kind of worked until reboot) and all sorts of things to try to fix it.
Here's my work flow to give some idea of what I've done and learned.
1. Tried switching message applications. None worked except Verizon Messages while on WiFi, which makes sense since MMS then routes through the internet
2. Restoring Default to APN. This did work to restore my ability to send MMS, however:
a. Every time it rebooted, I lost the ability to send mms b. At least one time, I was no longer able to receive messages from my wife (fluke? Unsure) c. Regardless, Restoring Default APN after every reboot is not what I wanted to do.
3. Reset Network Settings...nope.
4. I kdz'd in LGUp back to US998 20a. In US998, everything works perfectly! MMS comes and goes without any problem.
5. Great! KDZ'ing to 20a works, so let's flash VS996 20d, right? Right!
a. Except after flashing from the working US998 20a ROM (KDZ'd) to VS996 20d (TWRP Install), I lost the ability to send MMS again! b. Rinse and repeat of LGUP'ing KDZ'ing 20a and flashing 20d in various ways and the same game played out.
6. Called Verizon and had them look at the account. The guy I was on chat with was amazingly helpful...I explained the entire situation to him in increments without throwing him for any loops and he tried his best on his end to see if there were any weird settings. He updated some things, tried other things, but of course, nothing worked. He's sending me a new SIM card just for the heck of it.
7. All along, I've figured it was APN issues, which I can't figure out where to find or set any default settings for this anywhere, so that's a block on that.
8. This brings us to 8. On a whim, I decided to try the Textra fix that worked for some folks on US998...change to legacy, set limit...but I also noticed an option to Manually Configure APN (for Textra). Ok, I figured, let's try this. So I tick it on and what do I see?
MMSC : https:/mms.sprintpcs.com
Changing this to http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms gets Textra to work perfectly.
So now I KNOW it's an APN issue (of sorts) where the Verizon rom has default Sprint mms settings? WHAT?!?!
Recap ... this worked from early August until this weekend, just at or before the time that I updated to Magisk. conicidental? Possibly. Regardless, how can this happen? What am I missing? Shouldn't flashing the VS996_20b rom overwrite the modem? Or so I thought? If it did, then how did it revert?
Regardless, should I just try to update the modem on the V30 using the full Verizon 20b or d KDZ from here:
https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-vs996-firmwares/firmwares/
as others have done in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/help/extract-modem-bin-file-vs998-t3802215
Any guidance and insight into what's going on would be greatly appreciated.
Hey there, I have the V30 US998 model (bought from US Cellular, my service provider as well) and I'm having issues with my service after flashing.
Stock root works perfectly fine, but when I try to flash any Oreo or Pie room I either get with with perfect SMS and MMS (only works after making a call) with both 4g and 3g running about .3 Mb.....or I don't get any of it working at all.
Is there something I'm missing? Maybe flashing a kernel? I would appreciate all help and advice!
maybe after flashing try adding the corresponding apn for your carrier and see if that helps out with your mms and sms issue. also make a back up of the stock rom with root if swapping roms. it'll be faster than restarting from scratch after a flash.
Make sure your APN is set correctly. This is what's recommended by US Cellular for the V30:
Name: USSC
APN: internet
Proxy: wap.voicestream.com
Port: wap.voicestream.com
Username: [email protected]
password: yourMSID
MCC: 310
MNC: 120
Authentication Type: not set
If "APN type" pops up: default, supl
Not sure why they suggest putting a domain in the port field as I've never had a carrier that used anything there... it's always been "not set" for me. It doesn't make sense logically by basic understanding of the internet but maybe it's something weird and specific to phones and carriers.
Not sure exactly what MSID is but apparently if you call 611 US Cellular can give you it.
Normally nothing "pops up" but that's what their site claims. Usually "APN type" is where you set "default, supl".
To save those APN settings you click the three dots at the top right then select save.
Ultimately, you could nandroid your flashed phone and put your stock US Cellullar ROM back on, record the APN data and flash the nandroid back onto the phone then restore the default APN settings but first I suggest you try to just enter the APN based on the information from the US Cellular site and the below step.
Another thing that could be going on, assuming the APN is set correctly is to enter the following hidden menu with the dialer: *#*#4636#*#* and go select the appropriate preferred network type. For me on ATT I went with "LTE/UMTS auto (PRL)". I think this should work for you as well. This resolved data issues in the past on my Nexus 5 and I had the same problem on the V30+ after flashing a ROM which it also resolved.

I tried to save the APN settings but it failed due to an error? I think it had something to do with either port or the apn type. So I am curious, would grabbing us99820e_02_0910.kdz for US998 (US Cellular) and using LGUP help in this instance? Would all I have to do is reunlock the bootloader and root?

You don't have to re-unlock bootloader. It will stay unlocked unless you re-lock it; please don't. Because to re-unlock you have to temporarily downgrade to pre-July 2018 firmware.
Why US998 20E? Why not the most recent? 20E is older. 20F is most recent You can even flash via TWRP. Just reflash Magisk before rebooting.
You can also enable DTS 3D stereo on US998 20F:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/how-to/enable-dts-3d-stereo-lg-v30-variants-t3887139
At least try it out before you flash back to custom ROM...

I stated before, even flashing back to stock was still giving me issues. I really haven't had much sleep recently due to this issue, so please have patience. I ended up plugging my V30 into my laptop for LG Bridge and it automatically updated to us998 20F. I am hoping its what I needed.

For custom ROMs, you do often have to edit or even create APNs for specific carriers.
Hope stock 20F solves your problem.

Yeah, when I got back home and flashed back to stock, I was only having issues with 4G and it's speed. Just went up to F and I'm still running into them. I also can't edit the apn settings I actually need to change.

Also for US CELLULAR, you want LTE/CDMA, right? I of course have where I need for AT&T. Don't use what I have, I'm just showing the options.

I believe US Cellular is one of the last to use CDMA, but I made the apn default but still everything but the first two are still grayed out.
Download 20f zip to sd card in your phone. Go into twrp and go to wipe. Swipe factory reset then go to advanced wipe and wipe the things i have in sceenshot. Then format data. Flash zip. Wipe cache. Reboot system. Make sure you backup anything important because if it is on phone storage it will be gone. You can flash magisk later if your phone works after that. I am on us cellular also.
Before I saw this post I was having problems with cell data, after leaving wifi data will not kick in, I had to go to setting and enable 3g only then LTE and after that, I got data connection, what I did I just dirty flash 20f (I didn't want to lose my info), and everything has been working fine.
PS
I never had a custom rom, it was just converted from sprint to US998, and worked fine for a while and then suddenly started having the data problem

Question, have you gotten any of the Oreo or Pie roms to work nicely with your phone and service? Curious cause now I've fully fixed my phone's service And junk, kinda getting antsy to try out one of them.
Liquidremix worked good but you have to make a call after reboot to get calling and data to work. Right now i prefer stock rooted
After waiting a bit I haven't found any ROMS supporting US Cellular off the bat.
I'm on the latest update US99820G and still having no luck. Anyone else find a fix found a similar post!
I don't have a US Cellular phone (I have the vs996 (Verizon) Frankensteined to US998 - - currently on 20g). For me to install any custom AOSP rom, I have to first do a clean wipe and install the twrp flashable US998 - - 20e rom. I then do a clean wipe and install the AOSP custom Rom of choice (resurrection remix, Liquid Remix, etc.).
If I don't do it this way, then I have problems with data, sound, texts, etc. Again, I don't know if this applies to the US cellular phone or not.
I still have to make a phone call (I call my voice mail) after reboots to get things working.
