Unfortunately, google play store has stopped.
That's the error I keep getting, and I can't go into 2g only mode even after installing gsm patch. I have twrp 3.0.0.0 installed. Any suggestions please?
I dont think it has anything to do with either the solution is simple. Go to settings, then go to apps, now go to all apps. Go to google play store and clear data and cache. Do the same for google play services. Walla good as gold u now have to sign back in to the playstore but it should work.

We might help if we knew what was going on. Can you access the internet in your browser? In other apps? Or is it just play store?
If it's just play store, remove your google account, clear data for play store, and then re-add your google account and try. Failing that, delete the play store apk, search for it here on xda, and reinstall the play store apk.

Maybe you want to clear away the cache or data for the Google Play apps?
You can do this under settings->Application Manager. Look for the "Goolgle Play Store" and tap on it.
It will bring up another screen where you can clear away the data.
Just a suggestion....

Hi all
Before that, I was on CM 10.2 and GAPPS that comes with it, I was able to use the market even though I uninstalled the Google services apk, everything worked just fine.
Maps sometimes said somethin' like "best experience with google services", but it actually did work smoothy...
Now I installed CM11 with new GAPPS, and when I disable Google services, then Play store tells me that it can't run without it, and just closes without letting me download any app.
Is there any way do bypass this check ?
I fight any app running as a service when it's not needed (battery life, data consumsion, privacy), that's why I don't want to have the Google services on my phone.
Thanks for sharing your experience
Tried some search on the forum and on google but no chance, am I the only one to care about that !?
Just trying to get my message up again...
Hey, I think I've discovered a way to do this. it DOES require google play services to be installed, but you can freeze google play services completely once you install it.
Open terminal emulator and enter this command
Code:
pm disable com.google.android.gms/com.google.android.gms.recovery.RecoveryService
and then I think it should let you use the play store.
to undo this in case anything bad happens, just enter
Code:
pm enable com.google.android.gms/com.google.android.gms.recovery.RecoveryService
Edit: Never mind. This will let you open the Play Store, but you will not be able to download apps.
i keep gettingthis error and it will not load or connect to the google play store and it also says google keyboard has stopped working, i have tried flashing back to stock, i have tried flashing a new google gapps pack and nothing works anyhelp would be great.
Same issue here: Settings -> Apps -> All -> Google Play Services -> Manage Space -> Clear All Data fixed it (thanks to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59668746&postcount=6)

Have you tried deactivating and uninstalling Play Services, in addition to clearing all settings?

Yep - no modifications of any kind, no root access. Still, after updating to 4.0.2, Play Services started crashing incessantly

Hm, Google Keyboard didn't crash for me. Maybe try clearing settings for that one as well?
To get Play Store to connect and re-download Google Play, I had to re-enter my Google account password. The tablet prompted me to enter my details after a few reboots, but you could probably add your account manually using "Accounts" in the settings app as well.
Hello,
I have a rooted Oneplus 3T with android 6.0.1.
I tried to use the Freedom app, but it gave me problems with the Play Store, so I uninstalled it and restored the hosts file.
But I still had problems with in app purchases and the Play Store always asked me to accept Terms and Conditions.
Clearing Play Store cache didn't help, so I cleared Play Store data and everything is working now.
The only problem is that my apps list inside Play Store is now empty.
If I search for an already installed app, it gives me the possibility to update/open the app, and then it appears among the installed apps on my device.
Is there a way to force Play Store to check for all installed apps instead of doing it manually?
Thanks in advance!
Did you ever figure out a solution for this? Just had the same problem happen to me.
The "install" button on the play store doesn't respond to clicks. It acts like the button is being blocked by something. I thought maybe it was draw over other apps that was blocking it, but other things work. I can sideload apps, & the install button works too install them, which never worked for me on past phones. I also have an app called "join". It requires you to login with Google to use it. I can click the "login with Google" button, but when I try to actually click on my account it doesn't work. What could be causing it & how do I fix it? I had already installed several apps before this started, so I don't understand what caused it.
Have you tried downloading one of the many Play Services Updater apps to see if maybe the Google PS app has an update you may have not been aware of? If you haven't go ahead and give it a shot. Reboot the phone if there is an update and you installed it.
If there is no update and all you see is Deactivate as the option for GPS on the Play Store, then I would go and clear data for Google Play Services, Play Store, and Google Services Framework, reboot then try again. If not, perhaps logging off your account entirely then clearing those apps data again. Ultimately if that doesn't do it, a device reset might be in order.
