Cm12.1 battery life is actually far better than stock as long as you propperly follow install instuctions and wipe all exsisting data from stock rom. Left over incompatible data is what causes cpu run away and major battery drain along with a lot of other wierd bugs. If can't follow instructions then at least don't go bad mouthing a rom based on problems you caused with your own lazyness.

Bump. I am looking for the stock RUU for the AT&T Desire 610. HTC's site links are dead. I havent been able to find a good link for the ATT branded RUU. Can find the unlocked developer ruu but not ATT. thanks
PS: I would be willing to pay for good link

Benefits of gettin MoDaCo?

My current build is one of those Asian ones that are locked/disabled from upgrading or downgrading.
Build: 2.73.721.9 146733 CL#62020
Firmware Version: 1.5
Baseband: 63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18
I currently cannot do any upgrading or change of ROM because of it being locked. I know that I have to use the GoldCard method.
I'm on the edge of the fence deciding whether I should root my Asian HTC Hero to a MoDaCo 3.1.
I have been looking up about these ROM changes and wonder to myself what are the goods behind changing to MoDaCo.
Is 3.1 a lot faster than my current ROM? (anybody changed to modaco from an Asian phone with my same build?)
This is my current concern, Is it worth the hassle to get MoDaCo?
Thanks for clearing me up and possibly bring me to a better world of ROMs.
theres no harm in rooting... you can always revert back to the stock ROM if you feel that MoDaCo's 3.1 ROM is slower.. but to tell you the truth, its actually quite fast
Well I finally did it last week and I also had the "asian" HTC hero which could not get root the one click way....I had to make a goldcard and went through the whole process...
anyways after installing modaco 3.1, I was a bit disappointed...yes it is a bit faster than the original Rom but there are certain bugs that made me regret the move
All this said, the guys at modaco did a great job on the Rom...I give that to them...
but for some reason my phone is a little less responsive...
I have not experience any bugs or slowness or anything with Modaco. On any ROM, stock or custom, if you're running 7 widgets on 7 screens you're bound to find some "slowness".
im asian version too. i using modaco rom with a faster speed.
if u decide to root & flash custom rom, would you mind do a nandroid backup before u flash custom rom & send me a copy? thanks in advance =)

I don't think a nandroid dump generated from another Hero to put into yours would be a good idea, because (i am not 100% sure) of the fact that, each device has its own IMEI which might be stored in part of the rom (maybe in hboot?)

it will conflict my hero? or it will over write my IMEI? awww... coz i was accidentally delete my own backup =.=" as i cant manage to find singapore version of RUU.
here's a few reasons to pick MoDaCo
1) minimal battery drain (and I mean MINIMAL)
2) no process errors
3) super fast
4) completely customizable
5) market works (just a problem I have with eclair roms lately)

I don't know much details to each point. The eye catching one is point 3 and 1.
I have never tried on a Modaco Hero and therefore cannot compare to stock speed and batter usage.
How fast is super fast? lol Is it completely lagless and instant response when a button is pressed? I do noticed sometimes it takes about 0.5s for a thing to load up afterpressing button
Batter drain minimal. How much improvement on battery do I get? For ex., it used to take me 3 days to drain a battery before charge; now I takes 5 days under the same usage behavior.
Thank you
3.2b5 is a dream to use compared with stock Rom....also with the latest memory chaging facility the phone flies like the wind. Not had any errors at all...rooting was the best thing i done for this phone...it just does not make sence that android/htc cant do the same for stock roms.....cant wait for 2.1 with the added functionality...

did u do this on a Asian hero?
i will void warrenty if i root the phone, can i go back to stock ROM after chaging to modaco so i get my warranty back if it ever breaks?
so the stock ROM is really slow? I haven't used other roms so I don't know if mine is slow or what. It does lag sometimes when I have a few apps updating
I've finally decided to Root, and prepared myself for a long day, because i had to downgrade, create a gold card etc..
BUT! Everything went much smoother than i thought.

this guide is now updated, and I can confirm that it works for the latest HTC build. Do it people!
I can't say that I feel there is alot of difference between Modaco and Stock, at least for me, but APP2SD worth it alone.

[Q] Flashed CM7 (with TWRP) No GSM and not detecting SIM Card

Good Morning everyone (or afternoon or night)!
Yesterday i flashed CM7 for the first time ever (Never flashed nothing before, except TWRP which i did it like 2 days ago.). Flashed it through TWRP Recovery and had a problem but solved it (froze on CM7 Logo). But this morning i noticed i had another problem, no GSM! When i flashed it and booted into system i found it wierd that it didnt ask me for my PIN but i was waaaaay to sleepy to think about it. But thats not all, as I found that i didnt had GSM, I also noticed that i didnt have my SIM contacts listed.
So if any of you could help me with this i would really appreciate it, as i really need my GSM working!
Any kind of help is welcome! Even if it means Flashing another ROM. Just really need my GSM working for now!
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354 <-- Where i downloaded CM7
- Before CM7 i had the 2.3.3 official update
PS: Yesterday when i had that freezing problem at CM7 Logo i flashed the patch mik mentioned on the FAQ's (see "Q: I flashed rom and GSM don't works. What's to do?"). It says that would fix that freezing problem and also would fix the no GSM problem but it didnt!
Thank you all in advance for all the help you might give!

You can restore something only if you backed it up. So if you made a backup of your old ROM go into recovery and hit restore. If not either flash a .zip ROM or use KDZ.
Good and bad news guys! i restored my 2.3.3 stock ROM and managed to get GSM again.(had to downgrade the baseband for 2.3.3 stock), that is the good thing!
The bad thing(not that bad i think i can manage to get it ) is that i wanted to flash a custom ROM but im not sure if i should do it because i thought CM7 was one of the best ROM's to flash and i was amazed by it at first! But that GSM thingy got me a bit mad and a bit insecure about doing it again. I wouldnt get mad and would have kept the ROM if i had solved the GSM problem but i didnt!
Any suggestions of what i should do? Any ROM's suggestions? (preferably with that awesomeee CRT off animation [yeah every one loves it!])
Ill wait for your replies! thank you very much for everything you done to help!

If u want to have CM7 by Mik you have to downgrade your baseband. Short way is using KDZ to flash old version of firmaware (v10a or similiar), then ROOT, install custom recovery and then flash CM7.
Well the only experience i have at rooting was by rooting my p500 with 2.3.3 official with superoneclick! I dont really know how to downgrade the firmware and root it on froyo! But if anyone could provide the way to do that i would really appreciate it!
Btw im sry if im asking too much, but i prefer the opinion and help of a more experienced person than just me finding something and boom! Bricked! But i also search even if i ask you guys something!
Thank you very much for your help!

Read the entire guide, step by step!!!... Anyway it is pretty straightforward
BTW, remember to first install lg drivers on your pc... connect the phone via usb and disable LGE Virtual Modem drivers from device manager on windows,, --> this is extremely important to succeed!
My phone is ok again TakamineSubasa! i just needed an opinion on which ROM should i flash! I've done that guide and it went well! (for the 2.3.3 version! i think i messed up and used P500-v20G-baseband for CM7 [wrong one] and should have used P500-v10E-baseband). But ofc a stable ROM that doesnt have GSM problems :s
btw i was really disappointed with CM7 (or i just dont know nothing about it!). I used it all day (even though i had GSM) and i had no messaging widget, no market, and other things i dont remenber! If i flash it again is there a way to have those apps and widgets like normal stock ROM has?
Thank you very much for the help!

No market? U forgot a flash gapps. Other Widgets I dun think so.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
Yep, as terratrix, you must flash gapps in order to get the market on your phone and install everything you want....
Concerning abt stock widgets, CM7 does not include any stock lg crap... although you can install them later if you want, there are posts on how to install stock **** again but dunno where they are ...
btw, --> here you have the lastest gapps available: http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
for your security, flash this zip with Zip Signature Verification on in TWRP, to ensure that everything its going to be perfect
Thank you very much guys! ill probably flash sonygen but not sure yet! Need some opinions! if anyone is willing to give some i would appreciate!
Thanks for all the help!
Sonygen is pretty nice and fast. It's a themed cm7, so if you like the SE style go ahead and flash it.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using Tapatalk
Awesome news! i decided to flash CM7 again! Did the tutorial terratrix provided right after i flashed it and GSM is working perfectly! (just dont know why i had to import my contacts to the phone! Aparentely CM7 doesnt read contacts that are in the SIM card! No biggie!)
Thank you so much for every help you provided guys!

Need Htc one v (Indian) stock ROM :(

Hi all,
I bought this htc one v about a month ago and yeah it is my first android phone ever. Annoyed by the self running apps I went ahead and rooted the phone (youtube rocks ). And then I installed /system/appmover from market and being stupid enough I moved some system apps. But unfortunately this app permanently deleted those apps. Now my phone is totally messed up.
I need an Indian htc one v stock ROM.
Would someone be generous enough to help me out? plzzzz.
Any suggestions or directions are most welcome. I am a complete noob in android affairs.
Thanx in advance.

What is that with the "India" ROM ?
Just flash any of the stock ROM that is not at least chinese of japanese Either way there will be English in every ROMs. Unless you know exactly what you want from the "Indian" ROM.
BTW post your HTC One V related queries in the respective sections

I assume you have already unlocked the bootloader. So there is no reason why you should go for the stock rom again. Do a research on the available custom roms. They should be better than the stock ones, and doesnt contain the manufacturer bloatware. It should perform better, or at your discretion, give more battery backup. You get to choose.
