Call quality is good
Call quality is ok as long as the environment is not overly noisy. Handles Bluetooth well.

It is a possibility that you're experiencing difficulty hearing on calls because of your cellular service. The best way to identify this is if you're experiencing these issues in certain locations. If that's the case then we advise that you contact your cellular provider for troubleshooting steps. If this is not the case, we advise that you contact our Honor Support Team at 1-844-524-6667 for further troubleshooting steps. (ED)

maybe because of the metal chasis. phones with plastic or other chasis can easily catch signal

Yup. The receiving capacity is somewhat low to others. I hope it is done to lessen SAR value.
Currently 5X is one among the top 10 phones with Low SAR value and Honor 8 seems to have highest SAR value.

I can't find it now but there was one pre-production review from one of the better Android sites that said the speaker sounded really good. They actually devoted a small paragraph to it.

Good news..thanks?
73db..i think its good enough
http://m.gsmarena.com/lg_g5-review-1416p6.php
I heard/read that its really good, but to be honest there are quite a number of super-portable speakers under the $30 range that beat even the best smartphone speakers.
I have to buy this phone and I am on a tight budget. Recently there was an offer on flipkart so I decided to go for it and accidentally I went into comment section which was filled with negative review.
My question is:
1) Finger print scanner working good? Even if it takes like 2-3 sec to recognise it's good for me. There many people wrote that it completely stopped working
2) how is the battery life with constant data usage ?
I would really appreciate if you can clear my doubts.
Thanks in advance!
Fingerprint is quite good with 16s August update. It is acceptable now.
Battery life is not so good. But it will last you for a whole day if you use it moderately. (I am sure you won't use it moderately when the phone is new.)
I would rather wait for Google device or go for One Plus 3 as it is slightly better in most respects and has excellent 3rd party ROM support from XDA community.

Seriously? You can get those tasks done with a 20$ phone... Le Max 2 is a monster with a Antutu score around 138000. With the latest update 16s for x820 there is no issues., the best phone I ever had.

Are you it is'nt the VoLTE HD call setting in Dual Sim & Mobile networks? I had the problem with all my calls disconnect, the issue with that VoLTE HD call is set from factory is that far from all carriers support VoLTE.
Would that be? Cause some parts seems to work just fine... Is this region bound maybe?
But if I force only 2g or 3g instead of 4g, the issue still occur, wouldn't volte automatic should disable?

This phone is a beast, the hardware versus price point is quite competitive. The fingerprint scanner is working fine with the update...though it still misses it maybe 2 times out of ten, meaning i give the fingerprint scanner an 8/10. Battery life is average, for a non-gaming user you can do just about a day. but for a serious gamer and 4G user, about 3/4 of the day or less. the battery for me would be 5/10.
Then there is the issue with the camera. The camera app is crap. it struggles to maintain focus and in video mode during recording it can not auto focus. Using 3rd party apps helps but I feel a firmware update should be made available to address this issue at the core. I would give the camera performance a 6/10.

Shut up, for this money you can't do better. And a big portion of all the negative reviews when the phone came to the market were employees from firms like Xiaomi, Meizu etc. That's how Chinese firms do business, they have no code of conduct.
Fingerprint scanner has its quirks but nothing off-putting at all. It should be better from what I read above in more recent ROMs. Battery honestly is amazing. I can lay this phone down at night and get up the next day and it only has lost a couple of percents. A great step up from my Note 3.

I have the same problem, can't receive calls and can't dial out. When you go to settings -> mobile settings(donno exactly, but you'll find it) just where u see ur sim(s) etc.), you can't change settings when u get called (just call urself and try it out), so the phone DOES receive something. I'm gonna try installing another ROM to see if it fixes the problem, should i update you? Or did you already fix it? Thanks.

Flash cm13 or modify stock rom will solve the problem, God luck!
Hi I have it,
Fingerprint works in 8/10 times, that's not fast 1sc I would say and if he stops working you must do the calibration and it will work again.
Battery, well 5.7 QHD , 3100mah there isn't no magic, I would say 3,5 sot.

The WiFi strenght is not as good as the Nexus 6P that I previously owned. In a remote part of my house I always had a wifi connection with my 6P. With my Honor 8 Pro I have no connection in the same place.

Wifi strength is pretty much the same with other honor devices.
Idk y they are not improving wifi range. Honor 8=honor 8 pro wifi.
Maybe that's the best already.
Anybody made the switch? LG has a lot of problems and no signs of fixes coming anytime soon.
I'm looking to use this on T-Mobile in the USA. I don't care about WiFi calling, but want fast speeds with LTE. Would this be a good device on T-Mobile?
Being rooted and running Xposed would also be a plus.
Also, the APL version is the correct one for the USA correct?

Bluetooth quality is very bad sounding no matter what connection. Fingerprint sensor needs tapped twice sometimes. Bottom of the screen doesn't always register to type. Random reboots. Very blotchy screen on dark colors. When using wired headphones and adjusting the volume, the volume cuts way down to almost zero before it goes to the volume selected. I also don't like that the phone hasn't had an update for the 932 in 4 months.

Switching to a V30 from mate 10 for the camera? Seems like a lateral move imo
im using both ( mate 10 (non pro) and lg v30+) loving them both, but for the camera department, my mate 10 is still better than v30. Quality, color reproduction, and low light picture, mate 10 is still better. Wide camera is V30 selling points and also the quad dac. Other than that; performance, battery life, Mate 10 is winner.
I have a V30+ and don’t have any of your issues. You can even install the Pixel wide and normal camera apps too.
I had the Mate 10 Pro previously and loved it. Still miss the camera options. Wish I could combine both phones.

Sar value of mate 20 pro
The bad thing about galaxy s10 which no reviwer talk about is the high SAR radiation of this phone, it's only 1 point less than acceptable limit i.e 1.6
Head Sar - 0.47 which is awesome
Body Sar - 1.59 but this is very high
I don't like Huawei brand but i was surprised to check huawei mate 20 pro has sar well below the limit.
Head 0.40, body 0.96. even the p30 pro has head 0.64, body 0.99

but no one yet has answered my other question ... do this radiation takes place while the phone is ON, or just when the WiFi is activated?
sorry, I'm just a beginner in this :fingers-crossed:
Well, i am a beginner too ? but the thing is as we use our phones these days a lot and the phones with more sar value will apparently be more harmful for our body as compared to lower ones.
I loved the new one ui in s10 series plus the good lock app but sar value of that phone can't be ignored but people do these days.

Yeah man but Samsung is becoming just greedy now like apple. They ship their phones globally other than north America with inferior Exynos chips. Exynos chips not only affects performance in comparison to Snapdragon but also camera, sound quality is inferior too,
plus this sar value i was just surprised because people say Samsung phones has least radiation level but it was just a thing of past. Body sar value of Samsung phones these days are a lot higher.
I wouldn't buy any good phone with high sar. I don't care what people say oh no this is bull****. Radiation is nothing but in my opinion it definitely affects in long run. Looking forward to newer galaxies next year and newer mate 30 series.
