Just saw a retail version of the G5(T-mobile version) unboxing vid,and unfortunately there were no earphones in the box.Why would LG do that?could other versions include it?
Btw,if anybody wondering if the charger is a quick charger, yes it is.
Bit of a waste of money including them imo, most people don't use them.

I do. In fact I prefer it when they ship good headphones. I got the Sony Noise Cancelling headphones with my Z2 and loved them, made the purchase of the phone a little extract special. I'd agreed if every manufacturer just chucked some cheap ear buds in but most do provide something that will make the phone sound great when listening to music so you know your money is well spent

Because this is a phone that is projected to sell for no more than $300 in 3-4 months from now, and still bring some kind of profit.
I'd elect for the the extra battery and cam over wired headphones(with early purchase) any day
I just picked up my G5 from my local Sprint retailer. The phone does not come with headphones from Sprint either it just has the wall charger and the USB-C adapter. There is a promotion currently going on through LG's website (I would post a link but I can't due to not having enough posts yet) where you are able to get a second battery and cradle by showing your proof of purchase.

Has anyone found a good fm transmitter for G1 yet?
I've seen few on ebay, not sure if they are any good, one of them called FMTalk.
Thanks,
Dmitry
yeah the ones on ebay actually work great, it was $20 on ebay included shipping and i cant complain. you have to turn the volume down on your g1 handset and turn up your volume on what ever your playing your music through. i also love the fact it has a bulit-in mic. i use it as a hands free unit too. its worth spending $20 and much better than griffin transmitters for the iphone/ipod.

I ordered the one in the pic and it was total crap. It would transmit but the sound quality was bad and it was full of static.
I just got mine, took about 5 minutes to find the right frequency so far seems like it's actually working really well, will test it out over next few days and write a quick update here.
Any more word on these? I want one but don't want to waste my time.
You can always just use an extUSB to 3.5mm headphone jack converter and then plug that into a generic fm transmitter.
Try this one.

I was personally involved in the design of the audio section of the FM Voyager before Directed Electronics purchased it from the company I formerly worked for.
In particular, I designed the bandpass circuitry that normalizes the frequency response. Most FM transmitters have no such circuitry - and so their end frequency response is nothing like a normal radio station. During developement this unit was compared to literally dozens of other transmitters, some costing upwards of 100 dollars. While this unit - like everything on the market - had its share of reductions/limitations in order to meet cost and engineering goals, the final result was a product that sounds better (in my opinion) than virtually anything else on the market - including the transmitters that cost many many times as much.
As a side note: Some FM transmitters are *NOT* FCC legal. The 12 channel version of the FM Voyager is. The result of being FCC legal is that the power output is limited - and that power can result in some (usually minor) static being received depending on the surrounding environment such as other transmitters and receiver design. In addition, you of course have slightly less channels to choose from, although this is not normally a major issue. While technically innaccurate, the basic thought for lack of better explination is that some receivers have such a low sensitivity that a legally operating portable transmitter may not provide a strong enough signal to eliminate static. The downside of not being FCC legal is primarily that the device could transmitt farther than intended - and it could effect other receivers/stations as a result. There is an older 14 channel version of the FM Voyager, but thats all I am going to say about it.
Call me biased, but its the transmitter I use exclusively and I am very happy with it.
DISCLAIMER: I do not, and never have worked for Directed Electronics. The information from this post is based on first hand knowledge acquired during employement at the company that was originally responsible for the dwevelopement of the FM Voyager. Its possible the design has changed and as such it is possible that nothing in this post is meaningful or accurate at this time.

I've used it for few weeks now, there is some static for sure, finding a clear channel is a bit of a pain, and station that works today, tomorrow might have more static. Also another negative is car charger plugs into the transmitter, but does not charge the phone.

hey guys, so you know the headphones that came with the galaxy player 4.0? well i actually thought they were nice. i called sony if i could jsut order that part, but they wern't that much help. does anyone know where i can get em?
Did you mean to say you called Samsung? I wouldn't imagine Sony would carry Samsung earbuds.
If you want some comparable earphones, Sony does make some darn good ones for under $20 (at least imo). I got a pair of their non-in-ear ones (in-ear earbuds don't stay in my ears, lol) on sale for $5 and they lasted me a whole year before they shorted out - and believe me, I am rough on earphones.

lol yea my bad, they both start with an s. but yea i called them, they give me a part number and told me i might be able to find it on their parts + accessories website, but had no luck.
I'd check on amazon.
To be honest you should go buy some Sony Earbuds lol, but here you go http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Origi...8-1&keywords=samsung+galaxy+player+headphones they are the same earbuds.
Personally I have gotten these, [Cannot post link, less than 10 posts... stupid rule getting in the way of honest posters]
Search Amazon for: Nakamichi Earphones Brand New Volume Control Mic Stylish Precision Sound, Black
The price is $30 but I found them cheaper in a local store.
They work pretty well, and have:
A microphone
A volume slider
A flat cord that does not tangle as easily as a round cord
A button
My current OEM headphones are still working but I got these because I needed another pair.
Apparently these are quite good for the money
These are a little bit better than the ones that from with your device and are cheap I use these as my main earphones.

Just in case anyone wants to know, I personally use skullcandy titans. I know these are $50 online, but I live in the USA and marshals has them for half the price.

Just another way VZ to screw us. Atleast throw a pair in. Cheap a$$ bastards
I personally believe they're doing us both a favour, cuts down their cost, and in all honesty if you're buying a high-end phone you should seriously consider investing into a decent pair of headphones/earphones to experience true quality sound.
all the unboxing videos showed no headphones, so no reason to be suprised. They did the beats thing with the rezound, and not sure if any other phones got them. They were nice to get.
Ya were fooled
iSheep... iSheep... Meowww that's Apple
they discontinued the headphones in the box thing a long time ago... they just don't come with HTC phones anymore. then again they never came with any other smartphone to begin with. Apple headphones do not count, i can't even call them headphones when a cheap $5 pair from walmart is 10x better

I'm really interested in getting one for this phone and I was just wondering what some of the best bluetooth headsets there are out there. If you could provide a link and some highlight features I would appreciate that so much!
Plantronics
1- Legend
2- Pro HD
3- Pro +
Search Amazon, best prices and service
I have the LG Tone+. I love it. The only issue is it breaks up easily outside. Sometimes inside too. I like the Voyager Pro+ too.
These all are looking good, anyone have either a Samsung, jabra or jawbone who'd like to chime in with their experiences?
If you want a top of the line headset choose any one of the three, I have owned others including jawbones and motorolas nothing compares. Dont throw away your money or your jawbones and others will spend eternity in a drawer somewhere like mine.
+1 for the Plantronics. I even bought the warranty, and when it broke I got a $100 gift card from them to buy a new one. I've gone through three over the past several years.
are there any sub $50 headsets that anyone would recommend?

wow, those are some high end headsets!
bluetooth stereo headphones
My favorite is the Bluebuds X by Jaybird, they cost around $150-$170, a bit pricey, yet they have some superior features
like: very small total size, lightweight, "water resistant"(possibly the best water resistance in BT headphones), comfort, battery life,
and volume/mic on the wire that goes around back of your neck. Yes they sound very good. I had the Jaybird Freedom Spirit ($120ish),
but prefer the size, weight and battery of the Bluebuds.
I'd have to second the jaybirds. Love mine, never have any issues with them and they even work on CM 10.2 even though bluetooth audio streaming is broken
I personally use Jawbone (The Nerd), and I switched from all the Blueant headsets.
Hi all,
I just bought myself the English version of the HUWAEI 10 mate Pro and in general I am in love with the phone.
The English version comes with a single SIM and does NOT come with the screen protector or the rubber case with it.
It DOES come with a 3.5mm headphone jack convertor though which is nice.
I'm not going to review the phone because there are already plenty but I am going to talk about the speakers.
In general I was slightly disappointed with them. They are literally the only weakness the phone has. Everything else is quite literally phenomenal.
The top speaker is very tinny with distortion and the bottom speaker is decent but also has distortion.
Suffice to say I wanted to improve them.
Anyway, I tried a few equalisers from the play store and can safely say they do improve the sound alot, albeit at the expense of some volume. This doesn't really matter though because the speakers are loud enough.
I used an app called base booster and turned the bass boost to 50% and used the 'more basses' preset. The sound is now very very decent, but I still would expect a bit more.
Does anyone else have any recommendations as to what they do to improve the sound. My experience is it is not very good out the box, but can be made much better.
To anyone else thinking of buying this phone, do it. It's a great price that rivals any top phone and the screen is absolutely stunning. Not just stunning for the price but truly truly stunning.

I bought mine as an EE upgrade from Carphone Warehouse and it did come with the screen protector on and the rubber case (Though I found I much preferred a Spigen case). Still single sim, though I see the dual sim trays are available on ebay and I gather it can be rebranded as a dual sim in firmware

Can't help on that at the moment, but I'll try that app and maybe try some fiddling to see what else is available. I could do with a little extra volume myself, but mostly listen to audiobooks/podcasts/youtube, so bass is probably not as important.

Agree with that! came from a One Plus One and I'm very happy (Though I REALLY miss double tap to wake, I'm gradually learning to love the rear fingerprint sensor). The main bonus for me is the battery life - 6 hours of SOT consistently even with heavy usage and no longer having to worry about where the nearest charger is. Not sure I will ever be able to go back to a smaller battery now, however good the optimisation.

Did yours also come with the 3.5mm jack convertor gonzo?
I assumed since I didn't get the protective covers that the UK version got the 3.5mm convertor instead.
I got the phone for £30 cheaper than current retail price so I'm not too worried, but it's annoying if they should have been in the box.

Yes, I got the 3.5mm converter as well - guess I was lucky - though you had me worrying and double checking that the protector was actually on there
Mine was the BLA-009 Single Sim variant - I believe Vodafone are selling a different version, but every unboxing I've seen online seems to come with the case and protector.
Ok.
Well they must have just forgotten to put mine in the box.

Nope the Vodafone version is the same model
the screen protector is already on the phone and the case in the bottom where the manuals are, if you got neither of these then take it back and get replacement. Was the box actually open when you got it?
i used the case that came with the phone for a few days until my replacement arrived. i got the huawei smartcase for it, which lets you see incoming calls, alarms, time, step counter down the side of the screen (u can answer/end calls or disable the alarms without opening the case.
Audio not really seen an issue, but have bad hearing anyway, overall very happy with the phone and using emui compared to my usual launcher which is nova
I'm in the UK and got all the cables, the screen protector was already on the device and I also got the gel case. If yours didn't include these then take it back and get a replacement as either they forgot to put it in your box or something else is going on.
