Well i am not sure, but i think you can change some settings about the video recording. What i wanna say,is that i would like to have some more FPS to my videos. Is it possible to do that by reducing a bit the pixels? Is there a file i might be able to edit to do that?
Bump!No one knows how to do this?!
is there possibility to get P500 to record video in higher resolution than VGA? I've tried to change values in system/build.prop, but nothing happened. I guess that the camera app is the problem, as it is made to support just 'built in' resolutions.
Anybody has any ideas? Maybe camera app from other phone? I do not look for HD of course, but little higher res & better audio than 8000hz would be nice
Which values are you using?
Try changing them in the file /data/local.prop, then restart the phone and the changes should take effect
I've tried, didn't work. I guess that resolutions are 'hardcoded' into camera app.
I remember that on Vodafone 845 I managed to record 800x480 video via Bambuser app - the std. camera did 320x240. It was crappy quality (no wonder on that phone), but with a lot of overclocking, it was usable
Has anybody seen or found anything to enable 1080P recording on 2.3.4? I liked having the option in previous builds.

What option in previous builds? Stock Atrix doesn't have a 1080p option.
If you are referring to the olympuscamera.apk which was posted, this was proven to be 24fps with a smaller file size than 30fps on the stock 720p. This means what you were getting may have appeared to be 1080p, but there was definitely data not being captured, as the file sizes were too small.
What puzzles me is why people want record at 15fps with stretched out 720p to 1080p?
Seriosly...
Guess i didn't do my homework on that one. Thanks for the help and information.
I've done some testing on cm7 with lgcamera and the stock cm7 camera at 720p and 1080p. 1080p recording always results in 22fps no matter what you set the fps to. 720p runs nice and smooth at 30fps. I monitor and analyzed the framerate and bitrate using kmplayer. So my question is. How do we get a nice smooth 720p image on 1080p recording while maintaining at least 24fps? Also on cm7 beta how do we edit the stock camera parameters? since they don't exist in the build.prop?
Hi all, I have a mod for the Potatoman/hyperX hack, which solves the 'camcorder zoomed-in at 1080p' problem, and also allows zooming at 1080p...
Because it's my first post here, I can't add a link to a new apk on the dev thread...admins, is it possible to get permission to do so?
Why don't you just paste the text for the link but with a few spaces then? It's not like people don't recognise links here just because there's a space.
Also, can't you just attach it to your post?
Sure
Download/install.
Choose 1280x720 for resolution...shoot/zoom/record etc.
Now check the properties of your recorded file...
The only catch at this stage is you lose the original 720p functionality, which wouldn't be hard to add back in with more work. Also note I'm currently using the 'super high-bitrate' settings for both the original 1080p(zoomed) mode, and this new one. I haven't had a chance to test those bitrates myself under difficult rendering conditions (daylight, detailed moving foliage/city scene etc) for stability, so can't make any guarantees in that respect.
A few commenters have mentioned being willing to donate to have this functionality, and I happen to be exceedingly broke atm Not sure if my paypal link appears yet, but any contributions would be much appreciated!
Neato burrito, but I'd like to keep my 720p functionality too. Hmm not paying for small functions like this.
Uncrippling the sgs2's fixed 2.0x zoom ratio at 1080p is a small function?

You not just taking the 720p version and resizing are you?
+ the sensor in not capable of zooming in 1080p (sensor crop) as there are no more devisions for pixel binning. So this is a digital zoom?
Post any video links as examples?
I'm sorry to say that this mod is upscaling from 720p (that you have to use to use the 1080p mod) to 1080p when you use this mod.
So the videos looks way worser than my true 1080p movies that i have recorded with my Galaxy S II.
So yeah, the mod doesn't work.
EDIT: Hold on, i'm gonna upload a short video clip to show you the difference.
EDIT 2: Here is the true 1080p recording i did on my Galaxy S II one and a half month ago. This video clip is taking 145 MB and lasts for 1 minute. Just right-click on the link and choose 'Save as'.
And here is the "fake 1080p" recording with the mod from this topic. This video clip is taking 36.5 MB and lasts for 15 seconds. Just right-click on the link and choose 'Save as' here to.

Thanks for that!
I do think the OP should mention the simple resize of 720 as not to mislead people. Especially if donations are being asked for!
Yes, you're right, deanwray and Tom-Helge.
Did some testing of my own earlier...
Ah well, was excited there for a bit.
Interesting the encoder can do different res to file on the fly, which might be useful for something or another...but that's about it.
DO NOT DONATE!

Didn't actually realise you were asking for donation for something you had not done!!!
wow!!!
There is any app or hack or mod that allow the s2 to record at higher framerate and reduced resolution?
Like 240fps and 320x240.
Or maybe 120fps @ 640x480
It would be very nice and funny
I think a dev can modify a rom to make it works.
Never heard of this
sorry
hope it helped
