I tried repairing oppo joy smartphone for my cousin. The phone can turn on but remains in bootloop. Most guides said i can easily solve the problem by hard reset, holding power and volume button at same time and entering recovery mode. The problem is it won't entering the recovery mode or even the factory mode. One guide i read, the phone is essentially bricked if i am unable to access recovery mode so that makes me wonder.
However i tried another method by using software through pc. I downloaded usb driver, firmware and odin like software. I remove battery, connect usb, hold power and volume up together and pc is supposed to recognize and install driver or go through with rom installation. But nothing happened. Only a sound like a new device discovered after holding the buttons and it keeps buzzing every 2 seconds nonstop.
Please help me whether this is a sign of defeat or something can be done since i find brick is a term where a phone does not power on at all

So I've finally decided to root my S3 and run CM9, as from what I hear it's very stable now. Only problem is, I seem to have fallen at the first hurdle!
I've been following the SGS3 full update guide on the cyanogenmod wiki.
I powered off the handset, booted into download mode, opened zadig.exe in the drivers folder of the heimdall suite, selected options>list all devices, selected "Gadget Serial", clicked "Replace Driver". A message popped up saying it was successful. The guide simply says to power off the device and reboot into download mode again. However, after this I could not power off the device. The power button wasn't working and I got no response from pressing any of the buttons on the device. Eventually I decided to open it up and remove the battery and then try to boot into download mode again.
Now, it doesn't boot into download mode at all. Every time I hold the volume down and home buttons, I then connect the micro USB and nothing happens at all - it just begins charging. The phone can boot normally and appears to be functional apart from this, but this is stopping me from being able to root. Anyone know what could be the problem?
Thanks!!
Just tried factory reset and still no dice.
Has anyone come up against this before?
And, just to be sure, you are holding down the power button when you press volume down & home on a powered off GS III, right? Since you say you're rooted, you can boot into download mode from the phone itself:
Grab https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm&hl=en
Run su reboot download
Yup, I was. Seems that after enabling USB debugging after factory reset, the problem has resolved itself. Thanks for your help anyway
I'm currently using a P769 model with JB, and it's never been rooted. I remember the phone was 100% charged when I looked at it three days ago and I didn't use it at all the day after that, but when I tried to use it yesterday it didn't turn on and it hasn't been responding since (I did try to charge it a few times). Actually the exact same thing happened a few months ago but it fixed itself in a few hours, but this time it's been two days and I hope it doesn't mean my phone is completely bricked The main thing is that I want to avoid doing a factory reset if at all possible since I made the mistake of not creating a backup.
I've tried some recovery tools (LG Mobile Support along with third-party) but the problem is that nothing seems to recognize my phone as connected. Weirdly enough, when I plug it in it without the battery, it connects and disconnects continuously (the device manager refreshes itself every 3-4 seconds); I've updated the USB drivers and everything, but nothing seems to work. Not sure what the Recovery Mode key combination is but I'm assuming the phone has to boot first for Recovery Mode to even be accessible anyway, so that's probably out of the question. However I have tried Vol+, power and Vol+, power, home, and nothing happens.
To make the recovery software recognize your phone, you must put it in S/W mode by disconnecting your phone, taking out the battery, reinserting the battery and then, while holding the volume+ button, plugging it into your computer(keep holding volume+ until the screen says S/W just to be safe). At least that's what I always did.
Hmm... I tried that, and nothing happens on my phone, but I get a popup from the system tray on my computer that says "USB device not recognized: The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it" which appears and disappears repeatedly. It appears that no software can recognize the phone as connected at this point. I think it might be a random battery failure but I don't know how to tell D:
The thing is all I really need out of the phone is the contact and app data if possible, which is why I'm so hesitant to do a hard reset :| I read around and I'm assuming what I should do is to flash the bootloader but I'm not sure how to go about doing that since I'm getting zero response from the phone itself.....
UPDATE: Tried a hard reset anyway, but still nothing from the phone. I attempted fastboot, however, I don't know how to make it work since "OMAP4430" does appear under TI Devices in Device Manager plus an "Unknown USB [device failed enumeration something something]" under USB Controllers, but that's it.... nothing appears under Other Devices, which seems to be where the bricked phone should show up. adb doesn't seem to recognize it either.
i have the same problem with my lg p760.
any solutions?
you had a solution for this problem ?
Hello all, thanks for helping me out.
I did a very foolish thing. I rooted my phone and deleted a few bloatware apps that were apparently very important to the phone's functionality. I did not install any recovery software like CWM, fastboot, or anything. It was a stock phone that I simply rooted to remove a few apps. When I went to restart my phone, I found out that I bricked it. Now my phone will only enter Download Mode if I hold the up+down volume buttons and plug it in, or it will get stuck on the LG logo screen and a Security Error screen. A factory reset with the volume down + power will work, but does nothing to fix it.
My immediate issue is that when I plug my phone into the computer, the phone will recognize it has been plugged into a power source (it will either go into Download Mode if I was hitting the volume up+volume down buttons, or start trying to boot up but cycle through the LG logo screen and Security Error screen) but the computer will not acknowledge that anything has been plugged in. There is nothing new listed in the Device Manager. I have read other threads and searched around on the internet. The usual solutions are not working for me:
I have tried several other cables and computers to no avail. I have also tested my current computer/cable, and it worked for data transfer with another phone (Nexus 4)
I have tried cleaning out the contacts on the phone. They were not significantly dirty.
I have tried installing the drivers from LG and even the UniversalNakedDriver
I believe that if I could get my computer to see my phone, I could flash the stock rom back and restore it to working order via LGNPST. I know it is simply a software issue, because prior to my rooting the phone it was recognized by the computer.
Does anyone have any other solutions I haven't tried? Or is this something I need to go JTAG on?
I have a samsung galaxy s3 i9300! While i was sleeping, i was charging my phone and when i woke up the phone was stuck at the initial logo screen of samsung! Then, i tried to press the home bottom power and volume up bottom to reset while it was doing that it went back again to the logo screen before being able to choose wipe cache and stuff! I tried it several times! Then as i was searching through net i saw that odin thing custom Rom and i thought that maybe i should give it a try! So i tried to installed it by connecting my phone to the laptop but my pc did not identify my phone! Then I tried again by connecting and disconnecting the pc with my phone and while doing so i pushed the button of Repartition at Odin. My phone was not identified so i have no idea if that happened! Now my phone does not even open, or charging! Please tell me if there is a way to make it work again!
It might be of some help to mention that my charger is a new one that i bought from bol.com and its not the original one! I have no idea if that affected somehow the mobile functioning.
No, you are unlikely to fix that. You can try a usb jig, see if download mode will start, but it sounds like partial SDS followed by user panic until it was hard bricked.
If it didnt show in odin you have a driver issue and the repartition wouldn't have happened.
Remove battery, sd and sim. Make sure the battery is charged.
Insert battery and hold home+vol down while pressing power once.
If the screen lights up do not let go of home+vol down until it has entered download mode. If the phone wont light up at this point you have a bigger problem.
Once in download mode install the samsung mobile device drivers on your pc, you might need to try different versions, and plug the phone into the pc's usb on the motherboard. Try to avoid using front mounted or shared ports as they are unreliable. If your phone doesnt interact with your pc try other drivers.
Sent from a stolen phone!
Hi Fellas, it seems that I bricked my galaxy s plus when I tried to flash Cynagenmode via TWRP.
I have read tons of articles and threads before posting this. The phone turns on but keeps showing TEAMWIN logo (bootloop). I can not boot into recovery mode which is done by pressing and holding Volume Up + Power. (I've tied many keyboard combination but still no access to recovery mode instead the phone boots).
However, I am able to get into download mode (Volume Down + Power + Home) but when I connect the phone to pc for ODIN purpose, my pc or Odin won't recognize it. I have tried to uninstall and re-install all drivers again and again. Tried on different PC, Odin version and even different cables.
However, When I turn on the phone it keeps bootlooping but when I connect to pc, there is that "beep" sounds that says connected, BUT IT LASTS only 3-5 seconds.
Since I cannt get into recovery mode, I must connect to PC via ODIn, right? So I did it, but every time when I plug it, it keeps saying that USB Device Is not Recognized. I ve tried in many PCs, still no access.
Forgot to mention that I ve tried to unplug the battery while the phone is in download mode and is plugged to PC or ODIN, but it does not work too.
I ve removed the battery for 10-15 minutes and then again plug it but still no hope.
