Bugs emui 4.0 330 (Speed indicator/Carrier name) - Honor 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
After updating and doing a factory reset i restored the previous data and now I am facing some problems:
1) I can't display the network speed because I have already a limit activated. This is not working for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7/help/missing-net-speed-indicator-updating-to-t3349624
2) I can't find the option to remove the name of the network operator in the notification bar.
Any one have some recommendations?
Thanks
LE: for the first problem I was able in the end to activate the option. Now I only need to hide the carrier name in the notification bar.

I don't have any problem to hide the operator name.

Where can I find the option to do that? I'm not able to find it.

[Q] NFC Icon Missing from Statusbar

Hey guys,
I've been trying to figure out why the NFC icon is missing from the status bar. NFC is turned on in Settings and Quick Settings; but the icon isn't present on the statusbar.
I checked NFC, and it worked when I tried to pair my SmartBand and my M8.
I haven't tried restoring the phone, but I have serious doubts that would fix (this is the last resort).
Any suggestion so far?
I'm unrooted, and I haven't unlock my bootloader.

Have you accidently pressed "hide NFC icon" in the settings?
Never mind you can't hide NFC.

Certain versions of FW don't display the NFC icon by default even though its activated.
You have 2 options;
Flash a FW with the NFC icon displayed, or
Root the phone and modify the buildprop to show the NFC icon.

Thank you for the answer! Unfortunately, me being impatient… I wasted time flashing another firmware. Oh well, not all is lost… only time!

[Request] Option to limit Quick Settings toggles

Quick Setting toggles in Paranoid are awesome, I really appreciate how they work.
However, I miss the option from CM to edit the toggles behaviour, intended as which options the toggle can show.
In my specific case, I would like to:
- remove the Device option from GPS toggle and use just Low/High precision
- remove LTE from Mobile Data Switcher, as I have no 4G traffic (I love Italy for this things... and sarcasm) so I can have 2G and 2G/3G (someone maybe prefer 3G only)
If anyone has any other preferences, write them below, I'd apreciate if others have my same thought.

Will try to understand JIRA in this case...
also, if we could get an update on that quick notification settings so we can decide if left or right edge of screen shall pull it down.. not just random.
thank you
@Pirateghost I can't register on JIRA; is that normal?

It stucks in an infinite loading; later I'll check if something change (I'm writing from the uni, as my computer is not working)
Re: Option to limit Quick Settings toggles
Whenever, I start my phone, all the toggles are there. The other best thing about this I had discovered is in order to remove them, one can simply turn off the toggles via notification switch or just via uninstalling the entire app.

Can't hide cell info notification after MM update

Hello guys, today i updated my phone to MM and i can't hide the persisten cell info notification like i did in LP. Anyone also having this problem?
I'm also having the same problem, would like to know if there's a way

A quick way to hide it (but you won't have even the name of your carrier on top, only on lock screen and notification panel) is to go:
Settings -> Sound & Notification -> App notifications
In there select "Cell Information" and choose "Block all".
With that you'll hide the antenna icon, although I'm not sure if there could be other notifications from that app.

What is the cell info notification? Is it the constant accessing sim one?
I have the same issue. There is no way to disable the cell information notification. Does anyone know how to hide it?
I'd really like to see this resolved as well. I know what mobile network I'm on, I don't need it permanently displayed as a notification.

What the hell is that?
What does that notification do after tapping it? (or holding and then tapping the "i" icon) ?

The only way to remove that notification is click on force stop but after to restart the device, the notification appears again in status bar. The option to block all notifications is not available as you can see. It's really annoying!
Maybe it's abvious, but try looking for it in the "all apps" and disable it? (Hopefully it won't drop your signal)
EDIT:
If you are on 6.0, look for it in "system apps".
EDIT2:
Gah! Sorry, I see that the disable option is unavaliable.
Anyway, is your phone branded? Or did you install a stock rom?

I've already tried to disable the app but that option also is not available because it's a system app.
" com.sonymobile.cellinformation.notification"
There is no such app on my 6.0.
I'd just try installing stock 6.0 (or 5.1.1 and update)

I think that is just in Latin American version that appears that notification, I had installed MM beta, and didn't appears. The version that I'm using now and see the notification is Customized GEL. 570

Maybe, that is the reason but we are not sure. I only know that Cell information notification is extremely annonying and sony must give us a solution as soon as possible.

It's a matter of software customization. LATAM version does have that (at least the generic one does). And it is annoying as hell. Especially since that notification doesn't really do anything. It's just there. Anyway, EU versions do not have that. Not sure about the US versions. So just go ahead and flash another firmware. That should fix it.
Also, I'm not sure Sony will give us any solution to this, since it's probably intended. But you can always contact the devs at Sony and ask them if they can implement an option to disable that notification in future updates.
The only solution right now is to force-close the app through Settings. The problem is, I can't find any way of doing that through any commands. ADB shell doesn't seem to allow a force-close in the same way it happens through settings - it is just a "kill" that regenerates the app shortly after. Thus I can't seem to figure out how to make it an auto task in something like Tasker with an ADB shell command.
Is there a way we can automatically make a macro action of some kind, of opening settings, scrolling to the appropriate areas, and force-closing the app upon startup? That would be an okay workaround for now.

I guess flashing another stock ROM to permanently get rid of that is too much?

Double clock in lockscreen

anybody know how to delete the double clock in lockscreen ?

Check 'RAD TEST'
Turn off WiFi while keeping Data on, check the mobile signal strength icon now appears with a letter 'R'
Go Settings - Date & Time
The originally grey-out 'Roaming dual clock' item now becomes black and clickable.
Click to Disable the roaming dual clock.
Uncheck 'RAD TEST'
Turn on the Airplane mode, then off again to remove the 'R' status.
Now the phone works like before with the lockscreen showing only one clock.

Nothing to worry about, double clock is only at Korean models, namely V300S, V300K, and V300L
Your device won't have double clock
I can also confirm that wolfgart's solution worked perfectly. Thanks!

Isn't this just a roaming clock? I.e. you'll get it whenever you're using the phone outside of the home country? I always thought the home country was based on your settings or sim card though, rather than hardware/rom/etc. Not sure if I'm mistaken or something is different with this phone/clock.
I used app dual clock remove in appstore and turn off left clock, you should trail

Thank you so much, the method worked. Tried Dual clock remover before this but it said my model was not supported.
Dual clock remover app also works. Just hit the 2nd step and it will take you to the hidden menu to disable Dual clock

Confirm ! Just tab on the second button "UNCHECK BOTH" :good:
hi. can anyone made it on stock pie?
after updating to pie, it needs additional permission.
On the same boat as dchinacay, have a stock V300L updated to Pie. Dual clock remover says device is unsupported and quickshortcutmaker needs additional permission.

How to remove the carrier name from the status bar?

Just want to know if there is an option to hide the carrier name on left hand side of the status bar.
Quick search on Google suggests there is a toggle option called "display carrier name" under Notifications & status bar section in Apps & notifications setting.
However, this is missing on my Mate 10 Pro, can anyone confirm the option is there on their phone please?
Many thanks

Its there on my standard mate 10. Search for "carrier" in settings and the option for "Display Carrier Name" will come up. That should let you toggle off the carrier name in status bar.
Afraid it is not there. When 1st setup the phone, I see the same link in your screenshot when I typed in carrier in search bar, but after click on the link, it took me to the notifications & status bar section and the option is not there. After I did a factory reset, now the link not longer shows up when I type in carrier again in the search box.
I'm thinking it could be the carrier c782 UK version on my Mate 10 Pro blocks the option to hide carrier name.
Could someone with C782 or C432 confirm if they can hide the carrier name on their phone please?

I'm also on c782 running version 124. The phone was also bought from carphone warehouse sim free. However, when I 1st inserted a O2 sim card, the phone branded itself to a O2 handset, and the hide carrier option is no linger there.
Can I ask which network you are on?
I'm on c432. I have two sims. Both are Telia and I have the option to turn it off.

Im on the three network. UK c782. 124. Let's me remove carrier from notification bar. Looks like O2 settings have removed this option for you... (Same way three settings downloaded a three splash screen on bootup for my phone) ... Not sure how this can be fixed.
I happen to use WeatherBug Elite and when I allow notifications to be on the status bar (temperature specifically) it removes/overwrites the carrier logo. YMMV
This has worked on all my phones the same way. Also, in my opinion, WeatherBug Elite is the best weather app there is.
This is where I found it on my mate 10 pro
Huawei p20
Both my wife and I have just got Huawei p20. Same emui, android version and network. Set up same day, mine is black hers is pink, literally the only difference. However she has the option to hide carrier name but I don't. Have been right through the settings ,all identical.
Any ideas guys and gals!?
