Hi
few things i want to know related to the backup of my Galaxy SII Stock Rom...
.> ITs an UNLOCKED ROM (No carrier Limitation)
.> My DEVICE state - Rooted
1) Which application can take proper FULL backup of the same including every app settings etc
2) Which application can take proper FULL backup of "Just the ROM Only like factory Samsung " - noting else with no settings no contacts messages apps etc.
or for that i have to factory format it then take backup only?
i request you to mention the backup methods and the safest one in-order to avoid any further issue and if possible kindly explains a little.
regards

i was just confused that nandroid will backup my apps as well or just the ROM?
I've created a backup called "app +data (easy import)".
Now I can't find any option to restore an app from this backup.
Not from dropbox nor from a titanium backup folder.
Titanium does not see this file and says there is no backup for that app.
So how to restore an app from this kind of backup??
Try clicking on the backup file either in Dropbox or the local file system and running it. Titanium Backup will then ask if you want to restore the app and or data. I know I saved my backup in Gmail, and after downloading, I just press view in Gmail itself and TiBackup will show that dialog.

it was enough to update to the nevest verssion.
Now I have a bigger problem.
It does not restore any data of system apps.
Not Go Launcher, nor Go sms, or rom settings are being restored.
I've tried to flash the rom again an then restore - no result.
How to force titanium to restore system apps data?
ps. I was able to do it before. It's just stopped working.
Hi I am having similar problems, backed up using easy backup apk & data, sent via gmail to my other phone with Titanium backup on it, when I open it TB recognises it and says please wait, but nothing happens the app does not install. It is only a widget that I want installed but its not having it :crying:
Also I have a tf101 which is not rooted is there anyway I can unzip without TB to use this free widget as its not on the general market, I have a paid version of TB and using the latest release, but obviously not on the tf101.
Any help appreciated as it is frustrating I cannot save apks to other phones.
Thanks

I never found the correct answer to this question, which - from my experience - is a rather improbable one. This is the answer:
Find your TiBkp file with some kind of file explorer. In my case: I used "root explorer", probably any other one will do as well. Tap on it.
You will see: "No activity found to open this file."
Your options are
a) cancel
b) open as.
Choose "open as".
Now you get a lot of options (I see seven). One of them is: APK file. Choose it.
Now you may select an "option for null" (probably the null refers to the unknown file extension TiBkp) .
The options are: cancel, view and Install.
Choose install.
Now you get the option from Titanium backup to restore your files. And that works perfectly.....
Cheers :victory:
Hello, i Know this thread is old, but i seem to have run into the same problem. My tibkp file is grayed out and i can't access it. and when i navigate to it and try to open it, it won't give an option to open it with Titanium. Help please. Thank you
PS I have a rooted S7 Edge. Thank you
Hm.. I'm having a similar issue: I can't import .TiBKP files anymore; two devices, S6 Edge running SuperSU-rooted nougat, and Tab S2 running magiskSU-rooted nougat (in both cases the nougat itself is from samsung)
Hello im having troubles backing up an app.
Whenever i back up i get three files (.apk .tar and one PROPERTIES) instead of the .TiBkp. I cant restore said files.
Help please.
New phone, Old problem. Trying to use .TiBKP files to migrate apps&settings from my old phone to my new one, rather than just simply copy everything using smart switch, but opening them in Titanium Backup is NOT an option for .TiBKP files.
Any hints?
I rooted my phone and I've been reading some topics about what to get when your phone is rooted. In all of the articles I've read, TItianium Backup has come up in the 1st-3rd places in best rooted apps. What is Titanium Backup and how do I use it? Does it back up my files so that if I was to flash a custom ROM and it fails, I can still retrieve my data? Does it also backup application saved game datas?

Titanium backup is to backup apps with their data.
They will be saved to SD card ( Of course you should have one there) or to cloud.
When you flash a new ROM, you should wipe data which formats all your apps and data on the phone, SD card will be unaffected though.
So the backup files will still be there.
You just install titanium backup and you can restore all those backups with/without data.
You can Do batch backup and restore too ( pro only)

Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 which is rooted on the OMEGA v4.1 Build.
I have filled my phone up to the point where it is telling me 'SYSTEM FUNCTIONS MAY NOT WORK' because it is lacking memory
I would like someone to help explain how i can:
- Backup my S3 to my PC.
- Restore to Factory Settings
- Put contacts, photos, music (important files) Back on
Without everything going wrong.
You are going to need about 4gb free on your sd card to make s nandroid backup
So I would recommend copying all music from your sd card to your computer till you get enough space to make a nandroid back up
I use online nandroid backup
Once you've done that copy that directory normally clockworkmod/backup to your pc
You can then use nandroid manager to restore app plus data.
Contacts you can copy them all to be Google account contacts that way no matter what device you use you always have your contacts ( as long as you sign in with same account)
Factory restore is in settings .
Although your problem is actually easier to solve. Do you really use all your apps. Have a clean up of your apps.
Settings - application manager-
Go through your apps uninstalling ones you don't use and don't forget to clear data before you un install
. Hope this helps

I've been trying to restore my chats from my Galaxy Fit with whatsapp version 2.11.175 to my Galaxy S3 Neo with whatsapp version 2.11.238 with no success! I transferred my sd card which contains the whatsapp folder(old). It didn't work. So, I copy/pasted the database & several other folders that weren't there in the new folder (the 2.11.238's folder) from the sd card one and reinstalled the app. This time it asked if I wanted to restore the found backup or not...to which I clicked the restore button...After few seconds, I got an error saying it couldn't restore & continued synchronizing. >_<
Is there a way to restore all the chats? Without rooting?
Please help guys! Thanks in advance!
The whatsapp folder in sdcard only include some audio files and pictures/videos, not your chat history. Since you are non-rooted user, you can try helium (download from playstore). It can be used without root to backup data of your apps (of course this includes your whatsapp account and chat history), but you will need to install a pc client to help you on that. It's very easy to set up, head over to the playstore and give it a try!
