Is there a way to change default volume? I find that the volume is too low compared to my oneplus one; I know that this phone has only the left speaker and it can't be at OPO levels, but I think that some system files can be changed like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/themes-apps/mod-volume-increase-mod-oneplus-one-t2835010 I didn't find nothing similar to OPO, so if anyone can help me I would be very grateful! :fingers-crossed:
I feel the same way(also a OPO owner)!!! I can barely hear my msg tone notification when I'm out in public. I set my tone as Aldebaran(downloaded) from CM.
Yeah, you can edit the mixer_paths file, search for the speaker string and edit the rx7 value to a higher one(but not much higher). See the 2nd post of the thread you posted, that's what you need to find on the mixer paths file. But don't use the values in that thread. Just increase the value you have by 2 or 3

Can I use RootKing app to root the phone? I read somewhere about unlocking bootloader and Rootking doesn't. Is it required?
After adjust the speaker lvl can I unroot and will it reset the setting I made?

Can't help you out with this mate, I unlocked my bootloader and flashed twrp the good old fashioned way, it's easier for me. Don't know about other tools...but I believe you can root, make the modification and then unroot. But why don't you want root?

I don't want to root because I want to get OTA updates and not flash it every time because honestly... I don't know how to flash and I don't know where to go to find a reliable flash.

@ BenG7, thanks for links with instructions of : -
Could it be as simple as extracting:
- libbluetooth_jni.so (?),
- libbt-aptx-4.0.3.so,
- libbt-codec.so (?),
- libbt-codec-aptx.so
from /system/lib from the default rom
and copy these into the /system/lib of the desired rom with the same permissions?
Have you tried it?
or do you want me to try it? I don't know how, but I will study your instructions in much more detail and reply later. I doubt I can make it work, not only am I not computer programming coding literate, but am also busy with work.
Still, it's great advice / tips.

No I haven't tried yet, to be honest I want to be cautious and gather all the information I can get before I try as I am no developer. Don't try either, look here, it's already been tested:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45831034
but surely there must be some developer tool that could allow to track these pointers, I am investigating the point
Thanks

I have recently put a paranoid android 3.50 ROM on my GT-I9300. I would like to use Google wallet that is installed with the gapps, but when I change the build.prop to the galaxy nexus the sound breaks. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what can I do to fix it? Thanks!

1. Don't revive old posts.
2. Completely unrelated and the user broke it by changing a file, this apk is for something else related to CM that already has a fix.

I am on DN3 RC2 and flashed S5 mod its a good rom , and i like to increased sound(as i were using boost sound in all previous roms i flashed). So did good research from XDA. After all decided to find ultra volume. And i noticed high volume after using this gain file. Just replace defaul_gain.conf using root explore.
Steps to use the mod are simple-
Download the attached default_gain.rar file.
Extract and find file default_gain.conf
using a root explorer replace default_gain.conf in the system>etc folder.
Backup your original default_gain.conf file in sd card location in case you want to revert back.
ENJOY Ultra volume (tested on dn3v5 its working )
Its working... soo.. much... i think i wont hear after that....
thanks!!!! work perfect.
Hello.
Is it possible to change the volume of the Volume 1 (exemple : for the radio volume is between 1 and 10)
I want to adjuste the volume between 0 and 1. Because vol 1 is to loud for me.

but since I am afraid to modify the file my self can you please make another cofig_file with values that rang between ultra and high because I think the ultra volume will seriously harm both the phone speakers and our ears too on the long term
Thanks

And also not copied from your post, too. And this is ultra sound more thn 60db. U can also apply this mod and check that this mod will provide u more sound than your mod. Works fine increasing volume on the 900h. Music is insanely loud now. But messes up the dialer. So basically, can listen to music but can't make or receive calls. Wonder if anyone has a workaround for that

Hi all,
Thanks to a forum member on my home forum, who found some information from the Russian 4PDA forum, I would like to post the findings here for English speaking users.
NOTE: THIS IS MEANT FOR 501L devices with B002 or B003 ROMS, as they do not have many features from the 501u and 503L devices
I currently have a 7D-501L from Malaysia (updated to Western Europe B003 ROM) and have successfully tested the following:
You may first need to rename the file "setimmutable.list" to something else otherwise build.prop changes may not be permanent.
/system/build.prop
On Gloves - mode
Append: ro.config.hw_glovemode_enabled = 1
On muting the shutter sound option in the camera
Append: ro.hwcamera.sound.muteable = true
This setting needs to be changed at /data/cust/prop/local.prop
When saving, the charset needs to be set to GBK otherwise you will brick your phone.
#ro.config.ShowNavigationBar=true <=add "#" to comment out the original line, then add the 2 lines below.
ro.config.hw_shownavisettings=true
ro.config.hw_navigationbar=true
Link to the post on my home forum:

I have also managed to install Xposed framework successfully and GravityBox is working fine.

Hi, these settings are not available in version B002 for the 501L which is why we have to do it manually

You need to rename the file setimmutable.list to something else.
Then change the properties of build.prop and local.prop to -rwrwrwx- or 777 using some root-aware file explorer.
Make the changes with a text editor, remembering to save it in the same Encoding as the original.
Then revert the properties back to -rw-r-rx- or something, I can't recall, but you can see it from the file explorer. I use Solid Explorer which is awfully handy.

Yes you MUST be rooted to install Xposed.
I installed Dimensions Editor and Play Permissions. Both work nicely.
The navbar and app titlebards are much smaller now and I don't even need to hide the navbar much.
